Region free nice I love that
Imprint are awesome!
I’m from Australia Jeff and love imprint films and another company is called umbrella and they have incredible classic titles same with studio canal
This gives me hope for all of those infamously out-of-print movies: Looking For Mr. Goodbar, Little Darlings, Paper Moon, Ordinary People, Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid, Ryan’s Daughter, the list is endless. I’ll definitely be picking up some Imprint releases in the future. Thanks for this video Jeff!
I watched Little Darlings recently and it's actually quite baffling why it's not on Blu-ray.
Seems like an awesome little label! The fact they are region free, they definitely will be on my radar now! The Dead Zone from Shout is a very good release. I bought it with the new artwork and the free poster. So that will be my version for now.
I just picked up their 'Breakdown' blu ray. Great little Kurt Russell thriller that I've never seen available on Blu Ray here in Australia. Really great transfer.
I grabbed the Blu Ray on release also here in USA. Breakdown literally has been one of my all time fav drama - thriller. Suspense.
I would normally watch it like once a month.
Fun fact for any ps4/5 owners, all you have to do to bypass any region locks is create a new profile and put your location for whichever region you need. It's free and only takes a couple minutes.
Thanks for shedding light on this label. Will check out their catalogue. Being in NZ we get a lot of physical media from Australian distributors. Thanks for the update Jeff!
Thanks for the heads up. I'm just starting on my collection and it's great to know something like this is available locally for me.
So glad you’re covering Imprint! I lucked out and got their release of Fire in The Sky and Breakdown earlier this year and they’re fantastic. Everything from packing to menu and supplements. Can’t wait for my others to arrive (hopefully soon).
Good stuff as always, Jeff!
Nice 1 Jeff!! Just ordered The Dead Zone as I am a huge S.K and horror movie collector.
Hey Jeff, I am from Sydney, Australia and I have every Imprint title to date and they are amazing. I saw on a previous video you got the Collaborations box set. Will you be doing a separate video on that set?
Thanks for the heads-up on this label. The catalogue listing is impressive and with, at present, excellent shipping times from Oz to the UK I guess I'll order before the Christmas rush.
Hey Jeff, small world I live in CT as well! Love the videos, very informative. Recently picked up some arrow titles from the sales going on, and I can't wait to see what videos you have next buddy. Here's to hopin u hit 100k before 2022!
Region free! Love it!
I found Waterloo. I have been looking for that one for a long time. Thanks Jeff
Great to see our very own Australian boutique label on your great channel Jeff. In fact pretty much our only boutique label really. I've been getting these since they first came out and at this stage have been very happy with them and plan to continue getting them. The recent Collaborations box set is beautiful and shows they are improving all the time and that box set even has a booket in it which a first for them (that I can recall!) so hopefully we see more of that. I've doubled up on a couple of things as well including Brotherhood of Satan...also a couple have overlapped with Paramount Presents which is another label who's releases I love to collect but it's only a couple of titles here and there so no big deal. Hope you continue to enjoy Imprint ! Cheers.
I live on the Gold Coast in Queensland and I bought a few classic movies on the Imprint Bluray discs. They have also released a few classic TV series on Bluray too.
Very cool. I'll have to check this out. Awesome video man.
Hi Jeff. Imprint's Space 1999 - The Complete Series Ultimate edition is incredible!
Dude- thanks for making a video about this! I’ve been contemplating purchasing The Straight Story on Imprint and have been sketched out. I’m going to proceed with picking up a few titles! Thanks!
My review of their release of The Straight Story: ua-cam.com/video/5SyLi9CTsBc/v-deo.html
I picked up Mothman Proficiencies from Imprint and really love it! I also have Fire in the Sky from them. Great as well. I grabbed that one on Amazon. Great vid!
Yea I have bought some of the Imprint films and what I have like about them is that imprint releases paramount films that have not gotten a release in the u.s.a and so far all the releases have been very good in picture quality and in extreas and good packaging
I've bought a few Imprint and ViaVision discs and have been very happy with their products. In fact I bought the ViavVision Blu ray release of the original Outer Limits TV series. Reportedly the first time remastered for HD and also for the first time with extras. I also have the Imprint release of Breakdown.
Great video Jeff!
I just bought The Duelists, Ridley Scott’s first movie, from them. It looks great and it’s an excellent film.
Thank you so much for this. I can finally get an English language copy of As Good as it Gets 👍
When I heard that Imprint recently released a Zhang Yimou/Gong Li box set, I just knew I HAD to have it because most of the films don't seem to be available on Blu Ray anywhere else from what I can tell (Raise The Red Lantern was one that I have *especially* been wanting to come to Blu Ray). I'm gonna get it for my birthday and I am very excited to check it out :D
Greetings from Queensland Oz. Keep up the great work Jeff.
Thanks Jeff for another great video on a well deserved label. I've known about the label for a little while now and I own 3 so far, Let It Ride, Breakdown and the Mothman Prophecies. I would have bought as Good As It Gets but I already own the Twilight Time edition. I'm going to pick up Double Jeopardy soon. As soon as I bought Breakdown from imprint a few months later Paramount Presents released it but I already had it and to me the transfer on the imprint release is really good! Keep up the great work!
I'm curious about their As Good As It Gets -- one of my favorite movies..... anyone have that yet?
Yes I have it. It's a great transfer and you wouldn't be dissapointed. And yes....it's region free.
Finally a shout out to your Aussie subscribers
Get When Worlds Collide, War of the Worlds and the Space 1999 series box set. You can get them on Amazon.
Australia has some great blu rays. First time I ordered, they asked me if I'm sure I want to order from them. lmao
Thanks for this review. A lot of their releases are UK films - particularly tv series - many of these are available from Network films and Indicatoror.
This is super cool. +1 for well known 90's films like Double Jeopardy.
I bought The Duellists and can confirm it plays well on my USA Blu ray player.
I have Double Jeopardy on Dvd, the Spanish release. Glad it got a BD release
Only have two of their titles so far but their transfers were pretty good. Breakdown & Mothman Prophecies. The latter had really exhaustive features 👍🏼
Imprint rules!!
Thanks for the video
I’m off to check out Imprint. Thanks.
Such a fan of your channel Jeff! I was hoping you would take a request if you have it in your collection.. I would love a run down on ARROW Videos release of MALLRATS. I thought the quality was exquisite and very impressive. The packaging was generic but the artwork cover was more than satisfactory.. Anyways thanks Jeff keep up the good work!
Jeff you might be interested to know that Powerhouse Indicator have announced that they will start selling their releases in the US, they've just celebrated their 5th anniversary over here in the UK. Their Limited Editions come with a substantial booklet and lots of extras.
Maybe Imprint could put out Mad Max because Roadshow who currently own the rights are for some unknown reason holding back releasing it in 4K. I have a fellow collector friend in Australia who gets me wat I want.
I'd love a version of The Great Santini (Robert Duvall). Here's hoping.
The licencing agreement would dictate the region coding, not the company itself
You should check out the label Altered Innocence! I’ve never seen you mention them but they put out great stuff. I took a chance on a movie called Starfish and it became one of my favorite movies
I picked up As Good as it Gets from Imprint a couple months ago. Also first time to Blu Ray.
Actually, it was released in 2012 (by Twilight Time), but went OOP.
Via Vision released an outstanding box set of the original Outer Limits series here in Australia last year. The transfers themselves might well have been available in the US but the VV one is all original eps in one box and a decent booklet. A little off topic (I do have some Imprint BDs and always look out for the new ones) but your mention of VV as the parent company spurred me.
Interesting video, thanks for sharing big dog
The Village please!!
I don't have any Imprint releases, but I do have several other Australian releases as well as a region-free player. It's been extra hard to get titles directly from Australia during the pandemic; I lucked out in timing for Shock Entertainment's AU-only Blu-ray of Ordinary People (1980) -- not a good transfer, but the only Best Picture winner since the 1950's not yet on U.S. Blu-ray.
Face Behind the Mask is a great Peter Lorre film. It is a B film but Lorre is really amazing, one of Lorre's best. More a noir crime than horror, but regardless of genre label Lorre is a delight in that film and the transfer is wonderful. Never thought I'd get a blu ray of so snatched it right away.
What is your thought all mcu imax scene on disney
Tha is for pointing out where Australia is 🤌
Since you like Jaws, you might want to check out 'The Deep'
Hello, from Australia.
Do 4k UHD Blu Ray players typically go on sale for Black Friday? Where is the best place to get one
Another good label with many (if not most apparently) of their titles being region-free is Powerhouse Indicator from the UK. Good value even if you are ordering them from overseas on shipping cost.
Extras are what I feel make physical media more appealing and worth getting the titles. It is one area where a company such as Imprint can distinguish themselves.
Since you mentioned Arrow Video, it is frustrating that for instance the two Mario Bava classics Black Sunday and Black Sabbath are Region-B locked. These releases are terrific on the transfers and generous extras from reviews and comparison of transfers. If only a company like Imprint could acquire the rights and offer these Bava classics region-free.
In any case, always want to support companies like Imprint so that they can fill niches on previously unavailable titles.
Still waiting for someone to release Idiocracy and Speed Zone (Cannonball Run 3). The latter was only released on LaserDisc and VHS. Any DVDs of it are a bootleg recording of either of those 2 formats.
Hey Jeff - Can we expect any new 4K Releases of any Classic Christmas Movies to be released for the upcoming Holiday Season? I know last year we got It’s a Wonderful Life. Give us the scoop! 😊
I want to get so many titles and I know they are on the other side of the world but the shipping costs to Canada are quite steep and that makes it very tough for me to pull the trigger.
Any Information about "Last of the Mohicans" and "Gettysburg" coming out on 4K?
What about The Straight Story (1999) ? It is good transfer?
A nice little label out here and good to see
but compared to the usa -> we get absolutely bugger all out here re physical media bluray and 4k horror and other releases.
Most of my purchases are from the usa eg most recently halloween 1-5 4ks and many others. The range over there is miles better.
For many of their earlier releases, the reviews regarding transfer quality have not been good. And considering the premium price, I've chosen to pass on their releases. Look forward to your future reviews of their products.
*it sucks we don't get scream factory titles here in Australia*
*Aussie Pride*
Do the movies play upside down?
Got BR Bridge over Tokori from them
SF’s TDZ >> Imprint but Imprint’s release of The Straight Story, The Apostle, and Breakdown are 👏👏
Sir Marvel is releasing imax version on their Disney plus, So is there any chance of getting these aspect ratio of imax in BluRay?
Please make video about it. 🎀🎀
Somebody MUST release Grand Prix in 4k UHD!!!!! It was filmed in 1966 on 70 mm, and imo easily the best racing movie ever.
Speaking of region locked movies, I've been looking for a LONG time for a multi-region DVD/Blu-ray player from someplace legit. None of the sites I've visited have felt...kosher enough to trust them. Does anyone know where I can go on-line to get one that won't cheat me?
Hey, Jeff. You're kinda late to the party. Imprint's been killing it for well over a year. Glad to see they've finally hit your radar. Imprint's one of my favorite new boutique labels. Recent pickups include the Collaborations and Space: 1999 boxsets. I was beside myself when I saw that they were releasing Rage. I had hoped and prayed someone would release that for 20 years -- such a great film!!
Eh, i'll stick with Blu fans, they have massive collector edition boxes from Film Arena and Lenticular, along with other box sets, I'm hardcore into movie collecting.
Live in Au and the titles are good but the price does not match the quality. Although we don't get much to choose from here
Hey Jeff that double jeopardy movie on Amazon it says that the movie won't play on most blu-ray players in the North America so y should I buy it If it's not going to work on my blu-ray player
Amazon always says that but it’s not true.
@@JeffRauseo so I could buy it then and it would work on my blu-ray player
U know I was going to buy it but when I saw what Amazon said I didn't buy it but y would they say it wouldn't work here in the US and it will
Those are too expensive, I wait for US releases.
Maybe Imprint can do The Abyss and True Lies.
There is a Spanish grey-area BD release of True Lies (Mentiras Arriesgadas) by Resen, available from Amazon Spain.
@Joseph Herman Not likely. Those titles are controlled, by Lightstorm Entertainment (James Cameron's company). Disney will probably have worldwide distribution rights.
The problem with these movies is that Cameron has an iron grip on these titles. He has to approve any remaster and since he's shooting the next 27 Avatar movies, he ain't go no time for no remasters. ^^
@@marox79 Yeah, that one is actually great and comes with the DVD bonus features.
Never heard of them.
They exist in vurtual land.
Plenty of dead shops they could move into in Australia.
I walked past 50 tonight in Melbourne Australia.
Imprint are looking £28 for a bluray in GB. No way will I pay that for a basic Blu-ray. Not many extras on them.
Why did you never go region free Jeff?
I am now. Just didn’t spend the money on it for a while.
Not related to the vid, but definitely related to your channel/content: ua-cam.com/video/ZJiFlz5uzRY/v-deo.html you think this means Disney might be smart enough to release 4Ks/Blu rays with IMAX ratio or would they force you to only see this 'larger' versions of the movies in inferior streaming quality
Imprint are OK, they have released 5 or 6 great titles that i'm very thankful to have on Blu but also a lot of absolute shit. Also they pretty much take what they can get when it comes to source material (the Dead Zone being a key point.. a horrid old 2k source vs the US 4k scan release)... let's just say they are a long way away form companies like Arrow and Criterion. The old saying you cant turn shit into a diamond by putting it in a slip case applies here.
I have known of this distribution company for a few years, however, i have been hesitant in making any purchases.
One major question for you. Are you ordering these directly from the spurce distributor? Or through an affiliate of theirs. And secondly, what type of international shipping charges are you seeing? I am a major fan of Powerhouse Indicator. Twice over tge past year i havd purchased jn excess of 375.00 USD in titles, just to insure free international shipping. Should I expect simular challenges from these guys?
And one last thing.... "Enemy Mine" this is one of the few distributors in the world to release this title, as well as "Fright Night 2"... both fantastic 80's films that never got a fair shake in the USA. These will probably be my first two titles that I purchase from this company.
Any thoughts?😎📽
Shame about Criterion still living in the dark ages where physical media is concerned. At least you can buy Arrow anywhere in the world.
Criterion release region B discs here in the UK.
@@benpascall4297 I live in the U.K; I had every Criterion from 1-775 and stop buying because of their dark ages policy. The region B stuff is sporadic. The U.S collection is in the thousands. Not good enough and certainly not good enough to exclude customers from their website- dark ages mentality- but still enjoy grey market sales from Amazon and Ebay, if you please. They're a disgrace to the physical media game.
@@theminstryoftruth61 Criterion isn't a disgrace. You're complaining about something they have no control over. Licensing agreements vary, and Criterion is not always allowed to make their releases available, in all territories. Neither is Arrow. That's why both labels must region lock a number, of their offerings.
For example, Criterion released David Cronenberg's 'Crash' in North America, but not in the U.K. That's because Arrow had the U.K rights, and Criterion was required to lock their disc to Region A.
Another example, is 'Battle Royale'. Arrow released that title in the U.K, but not North America. They locked their recent Blu-ray release, to Region B. They had no choice. Again, that's because of rights issues among distributors, in different territories.
One scenario where Region Free discs are possible, is when no single distributor has exclusive rights to a particular title (for any particular territory). That's likely why Imprint isn't required, to lock their releases.
@@christopherbrown5023 That's fine but then don't accept the selling of your products on grey markets. They have these rights- that no one else seems to be subject to- to keep their monopoly on those titles. Rights' issues for films have become far more flexible in the last 10 years but not where Criterion are concerned. Also, the fact that they don't sell to people outside of the U.S is a disgrace when every other major film distributor of physical media does allow overseas buyers. It's 2021. They need to get with the programme.
These movies are a rip off
