Squarebody Chevy Grille Swap

freshening up the look of my 78 Chevy Blazer with the cleaner look of a 74 grille. Turns out, the core support is different and nothing bolts up. I had to replace the hood latch brace and weld on some new mounting tabs.

I’m glad your video hit my algorithm. I have a ’73 and didn’t realize I’m missing that center bracket.

You have to remove the bezels and the old brackets. There are two outer brackets that mount on the inside of the headlights to mount it correctly. Doing the same thing to my 76. Installing a 73 GMC.

I didn't have the brackets and welding my own on seemed to be the best option at the time. Also, LMC lists a different part number for 73-73 than for 75-80 so I just assumed that had a lot to do with it as well.

Id be curious to see how you mounted that push bumper. Ive got one but the spring perchs are in the spring shackles are in the way.

It's got two on each side, one goes into the top carriage bolt in the bumper, the other goes into an existing hole in the frame just behind the bumper but in front of the spring shackle.
