I love how in Skyrim instead of just getting the Conjure Dremora Lord spell like you would any other, you get a quest instead that has you literally beat a Dremora into submission
SuperThunderdragon I think I just had an aneurysm over your comment. Oblivion was treated as just a dungeon in TES4, no Daedra lore, no learning about their society, they didn’t even put the right rank of Dremora in the right places it’s all based on your level not on what would actually be there, Technically do you go to oblivion in oblivion? Yes, But do you really? No, not until the shivering isles and that’s not about Dremora. . Now the old elder scrolls spin off game Battlespire is actually probably a great place to learn about Dremora since that entire game is set in the realms of oblivion and invented almost all the Daedra lore and types
>Oblivion was treated as just a dungeon in TES4, no Daedra lore, no learning about their society, they didn’t even put the right rank of Dremora in the right places it’s all based on your level not on what would actually be there This right here. The aggressive level scaling in Oblivion is simply NOT lore friendly.
*flashback to my master conjurer-necromancer in skyrim spamming this spell* drew: *summoning dremora is very dangerous* my character: why do you think I have so many *expel daedra* spells?
I’d like to see a human summoning a Dremora, and fighting alongside him until the Dremora begins to actually respect how strong he is despite being a mortal. I can see that happening to the Dragonborn.
It is a shame that summoning dremora in-game does not occasionally prompt a random encounter where the dremora tries to manipulate the contract (his first attack on you doing "sneak attack" damage if get hit by it). Granted, they wouldn't do this if summoned into battle but if summoned when no enemies are near. It would add a real feel for what you were doing. These encounters would change or disappear completely as your commutation skill and/or max magic increased (and they would not even question your authority if your stats were high enough). Still, having a dremora appear and then offer you some sort of weapon or enchanted item as a "tribute" to "such a powerful master of the arcane"... Or if you summon one before you should be able to, have them offer to give you advice... a sort of gift for one who managed such a powerful summoning. ...it would be kind of epic.
It sounds epic, but isn't really realistic (I mean by Elder scrolls standards) These are the Dremora we're talking about, they value strength and hate weakness. If they see they've been summoned by a novice conjurer who practically summoned them by accident, they're not going to be impressed, they'll see it as an insult to them and their pride and will immidiately try to take advantage of your inexperience or just flat out kill you for wasting their time. Take the book "A Tragedy in Black" for example. Quote: The dremora looked on the young boy with disdain. He looked to be no more than seventeen or eighteen, on the cusp of manhood. Dremora: You? You have summoned me? Boy: Mother says I'm good with spells. Someday I'm gonna be a wizard. Maybe even archmage! Dremora: And what would your mother know of magic, boy? Boy: She's a wizard! She's an enchanter at the Arcane University. Dremora: Ah. Another dabbler in the mystic arts. I'm certain she is barely mediocre. Boy: You shut up! I read the scroll. I get to tell you what to do. -First half of the book. If you were a prideful, high ranking warrior of an immortal race would you really be impressed by that whiny teenager? And lets say that teen was actually capable of binding you to his whim. Do you really think you wouldn't try to exploit his hubris for your own gain/freedom? Dremora respect power and honor, nothing else. To them, even a Master Conjurer is insignificant compared to a Daedric Prince.
@@722lovemonkey agreed, but I'd still love to see them interact with my master conjurer. how would they react to someone who can spam that spell like it's nothing and even has one of their weapons. not to mention her being a vampire
I wanted to talk to the ones I had summoned. Having some dialog with them would be interesting, especially since our character is Dragonborn. Would be fascinating to hear from a Dremoras' perspective on the matter. After all, we have dragon in our bloodline, along some of us chosen to be vampires, so it isn't like we are just mortal master conjurers.
Are they not? They led a supposedly unsecussful inavastion of Tamriel killing the true line of emperors and look at the aftermath, sure they didn’t invade successfully but the entire elder scrolls worlds is falling apart because of them.. oh and that’s right. The thalmor who never would have come to power without the Oblivion Crisis? They’re overthrowing Talos (╭☞ ͡ ͡° ͜ ʖ ͡ ͡°)╭☞
The very idea is inconceivable to our Elven overlords! Sharing the heavens with us? With man? Ha! They can barely tolerate our presence on earth! Today, they take away your faith. But what of tomorrow? What then? Do the elves take your homes? Your businesses? Your children? Your very lives? And what does the Empire do? Nothing! Nay, worse than nothing! The Imperial machine enforces the will of the Thalmor! Against its own people! So rise up! Rise up, children of the Empire! Rise up, Stormcloaks! Embrace the word of mighty Talos, he who is both man and Divine! For we are the children of man! And we shall inherit both the heavens and the earth! And we, not the Elves or their toadies, will rule Skyrim! Forever!
Loved this video, it helped out a lot and gave me some important information and interesting ideas. I'm writing a fanfic about a universe hopping dragonborn who goes on to use the advanced technologies, powers and magic he acquires to do some pretty crazy things, not least of which is cybernetically enslaving and reprogramming Dremora so their personalities and goals align with his own, choosing to do things for the good of his people by their own "free" will. Imagine Molag Bal's amusement at seeing someone who was once a strong but insignificant mortal, repeatedly snatching his finest torturers and turning them into willing soldiers and servants, even doctors and healers? Imagine Mehrunes Dagon smirking as his rule is slowly usurped by a revolutionary? Oh and before I go, a word of advice to any writers out there. When making an overpowered character, show their origins, how they fought and bled every step of the way to get where they are now and if you can, keep showing them fail and try again when acquiring new talents and abilities. Without putting in the time to make your characters go from rags to riches you'll end up cheapening the character, the story and everything else surrounding them. Good luck and Have fun! :D
I had an Ancient Vampire character who I had role-played as learning to fight from a Dremora warrior who he met while on one of his many journeys through the realms of Oblivion. He did a service for the Dremora, and when the being attempted to enslave him he dominated his mind and forced him into servitude. He then freed the Dremoras mind, who was respectful of a more powerful warrior than himself. Now he serves the Vampire whenever called upon (I like to think the summon Dremora spell summons the same one over and over). I don't know why, but I like the idea of a Dremora being helpful to mortals if you can best them. It's cool.
I really really wish the Dremora had a more unique model with it's own skeleton (like the falmer do) to make them look less like "I used mods to change an elves skin colour and add horns"
Might be a fun thought experiment for you. Imagine for a moment that through whatever mechanism bethesda wants to use (probably involving some mortal), imagine if *poof* all the Aedra are now basically at the Daedra's power levels, ability, etc. Only now they hold even more of the arrogance than the Daedra, because literally every mortal would be NOTHING without them, and they are a BIT annoyed that mortals haven't always been loyal with the dark elves being exceptionally dickish...... How do you think that kind of situation would end up? Wars in heaven and earth? What about the akavari? the remaining dragons? imagine an elder scrolls game where you actually had to team up with the daedra to save Nirn because some of the Aedra threw a temper tantrum.
The Daedra would gladly side with mortals, especially those who worship and served them well, to help them from the Aedra. The first Daedric prince to come into mind to saving Tamriel... Lord Sheogorath. He already saved mortals from other Daedric Princes... what are a few Aedras are to him but more fun and games at trolling... and cheese... lots of cheese. Anyways such a game quest would be rather interesting.
I bet when when aliens find a desolate earth a million years from now, they'll still find a video about Eldet Scrolls by Fudgemuppet being uploaded at the very moment.
Inspired by your opening scene, it would be cool if various daedra took up residence in Castle Volkihar after it gets abandoned (Dawnguard ending ofc).

One thing I found to be interesting is in order to craft daedric armor you need a daedric heart for one piece of armor. That means each daedra that has the armor has killed and ripped the heart out of at least 3 other daedra. Or at least I like to think that they take the heart of their fallen daedric opponent to craft their armor with.

@@proximityclockworkx1572 that doesnt make any sense. Thats like saying you don't need eggs to make scrambled eggs. With out the daedra heart it's just ebony armor. I have been collecting text about daedra within the game and feel like I understand them on a personal level at this point. And I completely respect the way they live, and how they are. It all just makes sense.
If the premise of Daedric/Dremora immortality is the existence of an animus/vestige which while not a soul in the human sense could still be classified as a spirit of a sort. And the subject of their renewal/revival/resurrection is their vestige traveling to the Void and then reforming in their plane of Oblivion. Could Dark Brotherhood members potentially become Dremora or Daedric-esque beings as their souls go to the Void as well?
Imagine explaining to the Dremora/the Kyn when they ask why do you not despair about your death? That when we die we go to the same darkness just to be born again through all the things they fear but without memories of our past lives. However, the lessons learned from the past are engraved in our soul's energy erm "Animus" aka Reisha/Reki and we get a strange "I've been here before feeling". I don't know why but I could easily see Drew summoning an unbound dremora and the conversation playing like this. Dremora "how dare you summon me mortal I shall destroy you" Drew (sitting at a table covered in food and drink) I just want to talk have a seat. want something to eat? Dremora wait all you want to do is talk?
Just make sure not to take anything the dremora offers you, as when you accept a gift from an unbound dremora, it gives them power over you. There's a book in skyrim but i forget the title
Pretty sure due to the Daedra's code of combat and "honor", as well as the fact they don't require sleep or food, that he will most likely just throw over the table to stab you so he can return to Oblivion and do his assigned mission from his superiors XD
Basically imagine this, you are doing a essential quest to save someone or do something of extreme importance, and suddenly you are summoned to some guys table and he goes on about how he wants to talk and ask questions while your mission where time is of the essence is dripping away with every wasted moment.
That scene from Legend came to mind when reading this.

I love how in Skyrim instead of just getting the Conjure Dremora Lord spell like you would any other, you get a quest instead that has you literally beat a Dremora into submission
I used to forget this was a role playing game but this guy helps me remember that just with his intro
A bunch of dremora marching and the Uruk-hai theme go together suprisingly well
This video has me wanting an Elder Scrolls game based in the planes of the Daedra. Seeing the Dremora society up close would be so cool.
Uhh, you mean Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion?
SuperThunderdragon
I think I just had an aneurysm over your comment.
Oblivion was treated as just a dungeon in TES4, no Daedra lore, no learning about their society, they didn’t even put the right rank of Dremora in the right places it’s all based on your level not on what would actually be there,
Technically do you go to oblivion in oblivion? Yes,
But do you really?
No, not until the shivering isles and that’s not about Dremora.
.
Now the old elder scrolls spin off game Battlespire is actually probably a great place to learn about Dremora since that entire game is set in the realms of oblivion and invented almost all the Daedra lore and types
I didn't even want to give him the effort of a response but you did it so well.
@@pisscvre69 Could be kinda cool with an other Battlespire like spin off title.
>Oblivion was treated as just a dungeon in TES4, no Daedra lore, no learning about their society, they didn’t even put the right rank of Dremora in the right places it’s all based on your level not on what would actually be there
This right here. The aggressive level scaling in Oblivion is simply NOT lore friendly.
The best image of a Dremora, I have used as portrait for my sorcerer Tiefling in D&D.

drew: *summoning dremora is very dangerous*
my character: why do you think I have so many *expel daedra* spells?
good work man......goddamn Bethesda needs to hire you!
Or if you summon one before you should be able to, have them offer to give you advice... a sort of gift for one who managed such a powerful summoning. ...it would be kind of epic.
yes. i drool at this idea.
It sounds epic, but isn't really realistic (I mean by Elder scrolls standards)
These are the Dremora we're talking about, they value strength and hate weakness.
Thank you for covering some of my favorite characters in the Elder Scrolls idk why I'm just fascinated by the Dremora
Ah the Dremora, this is where the fun begins. Spider Daedra next? Or perhaps the Scamps?

They led a supposedly unsecussful inavastion of Tamriel killing the true line of emperors and look at the aftermath, sure they didn’t invade successfully but the entire elder scrolls worlds is falling apart because of them.. oh and that’s right.
The thalmor who never would have come to power without the Oblivion Crisis? They’re overthrowing Talos
(╭☞ ͡ ͡° ͜ ʖ ͡ ͡°)╭☞
@@pisscvre69 Technically Talos can't be overthrown until not a single mortal no longer worships him. The Thalmor have a lot of work to do

Today, they take away your faith. But what of tomorrow? What then? Do the elves take your homes? Your businesses? Your children? Your very lives?

Perfect! Exactly what I could have hoped for. I needed to know about this for a backstory!
That intro was immersive as hell. Very nice 👌
Edit: Nevermind, it's all immersive and good as hell!

They are one of my favorite enemies in ESO. This video was great. I wish ESO used them more.
It's cool.
I can't get enough of your vids! Absolutely amazing. Plus this is one of my favorite topics anyway 😂
I asked for this video from you 2 years ago and im so stoked rn
I bet when when aliens find a desolate earth a million years from now, they'll still find a video about Eldet Scrolls by Fudgemuppet being uploaded at the very moment.
Inspired by your opening scene, it would be cool if various daedra took up residence in Castle Volkihar after it gets abandoned (Dawnguard ending ofc).
Wait if Dremora hate conjuration, why are there always Dremora mages summoning clanfear runts?! You can never kill them when a clanfear is continuously staggering you!
Which is why i summon my own clanfear to act as agro

'Castes' is pronounced the same as "casts".
Different regions have different dialects, it's pronounced how you said where I'm from but may be different where Drew is from, regardless, we all knew what he meant
@@iwnnafckmthmn While that is true, I don't think this is a dialectical thing, just a mispronunciation.
Anyway, that's all.
Aye, like "Half-caste". Considered a controversial word these days as the word Caste refers to levels of racial "purity".
@@maxdamagusbroski No, 'castes' were/are social hierarchies within Indian society.
@@Kainlarsen Incorrect. "mid 16th century (in the general sense ‘race, breed’): from Spanish and Portuguese casta ‘lineage, race, breed’, feminine of casto ‘pure, unmixed’, from Latin castus ‘chaste’." I love listening to these at work
Another triumph Drew.
In the end it doesn't matter since the daedra just get reborn as soon as they die
Maybe is the technology to make one like them that the mortals don't have, and the heart should emulate the lacking ingredient (the despise that daedras have).
@@redfallxenos4585 I don't give A f@ck about daedric lives. I've literally enslaved several of them. #daedriclivesdontmatter I thinks it's Savage they murder each other and make armor with their enemies heart. Daedra aren't easy to kill if you aren't dragonborn.
I highly doubt that they need a daedra heart for the armor. Only tamrielic mortals need the hearts to come close to the daedric design which would be impossible otherwise. So they just have it from the very moment they spawn.
@@proximityclockworkx1572 that doesnt make any sense. Thats like saying you don't need eggs to make scrambled eggs. With out the daedra heart it's just ebony armor. Just like with out dragon bone and scales it's still also just ebony armor. You can't make either daedric armor or dragon armor without a piece of the dragon or daedra.

I hope that Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield have this much deep lore.
It would be fun to torture Dremora summon the same Dremora every day just to torture it to death in fun and interesting ways
These lore videos are life.
It'd be awesome if this was a possible race option in the next Elder Scrolls
Imagine explaining to the Dremora/the Kyn when they ask why do you not despair about your death? That when we die we go to the same darkness just to be born again through all the things they fear but without memories of our past lives. However, the lessons learned from the past are engraved in our soul's energy erm "Animus" aka Reisha/Reki and we get a strange "I've been here before feeling".
I wonder what their in game opinion would be?
Love these videos, keep it up you guys!
