SONY A7R II - 4K NIGHT LOW LIGHT DARK FOOTAGE

I wanted to see what the Sony A7R II was capable of at night. So I took it around the streets of Santa Monica and put it under different conditions. I really liked the video of this camera over the Sony A6500. It autofocuses a lot faster when shooting video and does not suffer from the same rolling shutter issues that the A6500 has.

Crystal clear with remarkably good color rendition and the internal microphone did a great job capturing the ambient sounds. This older model is still very impressive in it's own right. What ISO setting were you using?

I recorded everything in full auto. I wanted to see how well the software on this camera handled the exposure as well as the autofocus. The A6500 autofocus completely failed in front of the pier when the cars would start driving by. That footage was basically useless.

is this shooting at super 35 mode?

what iso do you use? do you expand to 102400?

Did you record the sound with an external mic or is it the internal mic of the A7R II?

All of it was recorded with the internal mic. Pretty good huh!?

I'm trying to buy one now but so far the best deal I've seen is still $1,999, on ebay though. Most of them are still at $2,399. I think at $1,799, it's worth every penny with that huge sensor.

Yeah i know. In germany it costs btw. 2699 and 2999$. I hope its going down after the release of the A7R III. You are right with the sensor. And the fast AF is another plus! First i thought a C-MOS is better for me because the fast AF. But the A7R II is now the best package!

The autofocus, in low light , on this camera is impressive! It helped a lot when shooting this video.
