I'm using the 7c in flamenco performances where shadows are sharp, and very low key lighting, at the beginning I thought was going to be hard, but man, this camera is capable of retain every single detail, with the proper config and 1.8 lens, im using 85 mm and 35 mm , the shots are incredibly accurate. I dont regret to relay on this camera for my job. is fast enough, even tho only reaches 4.000 shutter speed, seriously, you don't need more. people are obsessed with high end specs, and they trully believe that is not possible without them, ok, a7c is high end camera in some sort of way, but it's all about finding the right spot.
This is exactly why I don't upgrade to the top of the line cinema cameras until I exactly know I need it for my jobs. I had the a7c and a7iii for years and they paid themselves 200x more than I expected.
Thank you soo so much for this video, it is amazing. I am going to try these settings in my A7C. Something i would like to know is more about focusing? in those shots you showed of the building when you are pointing up or the other one where you are on what i guess its a roof and youre shooting down towards the street with cars passing by, how do you set up focus there? is that only autofocus or do you use manual focus?
@@VictorLaforteza since most of the viewers just got theirs a7c why not give some tips regarding video and photography setting. Looking forward for it 🙏

I would recommend the a7iii! It’s cheaper and has two dual card slots and you can record on both at the same time! If one card fails on a wedding you have another copy of your files on the spot!! Never had bad luck with it but its a good back up!
high quality content dude! I Subscribed. I am still thinking of buying the A7C, go for the current A7 mark 3 or waitr for the mark 4. What would you recommend? I want to do both with one camera: Video and photography. So I understand if there are some compromises. I currently have the A6300.
Thanks man! I'd wait for the A7IV. Rumour has it that it'll be announce this year or early next year. the a7c has an updated sensor but still the same sensor hardware so it's still using older tech (a7iii sensor) a7iv should be another camera that will have a lot of new tech inside
Hi Victor! I love your video. Fantastic low light footage! I’m kinda new to all this, so what do you mean with “composition” in the description of some footage along with the shutter speed, ISO, aperture, LUTs, etc? Thanks!
Every Sony cameras have Dual native ISOs. We need to search for these ourselfs, coz depending in camera type and firmware each camera have their own best native ISO
Hi, The footage looks awesome, I just picked the A7C as well, I use Davinci’s Resolve & FCPX for my editing, are this LUTS compatible with this Software? Thanks!!
How can you get the camera to focus on neon signs in the background in a low light situation?? For example, I am doing talking head vids, but I noticed that the neon signs in the background are overexposed and the neon signs look all white and blurry, instead of being sharp and showing their real colors. How do we fix this problem??
You have to expose for the neon lights and bring up someone’s face exposure in post! Or add in additional lighting for the face to match exposure a bit
@@VictorLaforteza ok, that makes sense - Thanks! But, how would you fix the problem where the neon signs in the background appear white and blurry due to overexposure when filming in low light conditions?
@@FC-py6xk Lots of testing involved! but essentially you have to expose for the lights (it will make everything else look dark but the lights) and then bring everything else in post. It'll be noisier but you'll have to test where is the sweet spot with your camera :)
Can you really see the noise watching it on UA-cam on a laptop? I watch a lot of UA-cam videos on my laptop with as high as 12k iso and can't really see any noise
The problem with youtube is compression. The noise kinda blends in with the compressed shadows that shows artifacts and just gross banding. You can still see it just its so much better than cameras before.
Of course! I like the freewell magnetic ND/PL 16. Works best for my workflow. They have a VND as well. I did use a polarpro VND 2-5 stops before and I highly recommend it as well
HEy Victor where you from im from Puerto Rico?. About to buy the A7C .. I gotta admit theres some creaminess about the A7iii that I like more but all around it seems amazing. Wanted to ask ....What lens did you use in the making of this video?
I just picked up the Sony a7c. Watching everything I can as I am beyond pumped for this camera to arrive.

4K!
Is Sony A7iii considered a new camera or an old camera?
According to your settings, I mean
New :) this was an old 2020 video. Settings refer to A7iii or newer
What balance setting/kelvin are you using in these low light situations?
I just stuck with 5600k
Thanks man!
amazing ! whats title of the theme song used
Can't remember but its from artlist! retrowave playlist
So if the dual Iso for slog is 500 & 3200 I should only use either one of those iso’s?
Best practice, yes. Just a note that it varies from camera to camera.
can i use this for zve10?
Yes! Just make sure you convert footage to rec.709
Can you film raw with the a7c?
Unfortunately, you can’t :(
HLG3 If you have it, if not, use HLG ;) AS HLG1 AND HLG2 are not as bright/dynamic as normal HLG and HLG3
