    "There wasn't a lot of death or dying but it feels very ominous" is exactly how I felt too. You can feel the storm. It's the calm before. Sam finally learning about his family's demise from Dany and then the intense Sam Jon moment with Sam finally hitting Jon with the "you gave up your crown" line can only be described as ominous.

    It's high-key hilarious to me how Jon and a lot of reactors act like the Northerners are crazy for being mad that their King bent the knee without them knowing as if Daenerys hadn't told Jon she'd fight with him and he STILL bent the knee. Also, the only people who had seen the army in Winterfell are Jon, Dany, Sandor, Gandry, Sam, Bran and Jorah, the rest of the North are prepping because their king said so but they haven't seen that shit they're just going off of vibes😭
    Sansa made some points: Daenerys brought all those men and fully grown dragons and no food to sustain them, the Northerners and House Stark prepped for THEIR numbers with some leftovers in case the winter lasts longer than hoped but certainly not enough to feed over 100 000 men. What are they gonna eat? we've seen the North is harsh terrain and growing food there is almost certainly not easy, Daenerys destroyed a bunch of provisions back at High Garden for fun.
    The Northerners don't know Daenerys all they know is her ancestors showed up and burned a ton of Northern folk, her father murdered Ned's father and brother and now that they've finally got their independence back...they're forced to accept her of course they're upset. WE know the threat is real but THEY don't, it's not petty politics to them.
    Arya and Sansa trusting Jon but certainly not when it comes to Daenerys because they don't know her and their family has been through enough betrayals by 'allies' is one of the smartest moves Starks have ever made in this show, not everyone is honourable and they shouldn't be naive enough to believe that

      Why Dany thought she could waltz into the North & everyone would follow her is beyond me. She's smarter than that. She should've scrapped Jon bending the knee, fought with the North, & gained their trust as much as possible.

    One of the book theories is drogon the biggest dragon that Dani rides is the the reincarnation of her Dothraki husband and that his spirit transferred into the dragon when they burned his body and the dragon hatched from the same fire. That is why that dragon is more independent than the others. So the glare this dragon gave Jon Snow when kissing Dani is a hint this theory is true.

    NO...Arya wasn't threatening Jon at all and it didn't feel like one. She adores Jon and they've always been very close & each others favourite sibling. What Arya said was foreshadowing Jons identity crisis later on. Arya also said that because she's always seen Jon as a Stark and knows how Jon has struggled with the last name snow and never reffered to himself as a Stark. Arya is like Ned in s1 reminding Jon that he is a Stark, "you might not have my name, but you have my blood". Jon is reminded of this because his last real name is Targaryen & his true parentage doesn't change the fact that he's still a Stark, Arya's love for him as a big brother wont change.

      Everything isn't a "fumble" bu the writers Cersei is being exactly who she's always been even at the peak of the writing which is extremely dumb when it comes to wielding power and not nearly as smart as she believes herself to be as told by her actually very intelligent father Tywin. Jon did actually say "that is the fate of everyone...." in their demonstration and which at min implies how it works and she says "I imagine for most of them it would be an improvement." She responded as Cersi would everything doesn't need to be expositioned like explaining to a child for you to think it's good writing damn.
      Regardless of if she knew about that the other point still remains she has no fire or dragonglass it's just outright idiotic to think they could deal with the dead in anyway whatsoever but she's always been that way she doesn't see anything outside of herself(kids) her father, and Jamie as being as strong and powerful as herself. No matter who or what opposes her she believes she'll be victorious because Tywin was always victorious and she listened to her daddy so why wouldn't she? She literally knows of no losing war with them involved the lion always came out on top, she could've at least sent Bron as the insurance with the army in case they survive the dead Bron kills her but no she wants him to take out her brother's because she's scorned and delusional as always. Yet she has history on her side that allows her to be.... mad king didn't choose her for Rhaegar to marry well they die and she becomes queen anyway, has bastard children and no claim to the chair it's overlooked and she's sided with because the Lion wins, Stannis is about to murder her and children she's saved, everyone knows her and the kids have no claim and it's accepted BECAUSE... Robb is on a warpath, Stannis still is and they never touch the capital, she blew up her last enemies while making more, and crowned herself queen the 1st to hold the title and reign while having zero claim/right to it. She did it solely by killing anyone who could oppose her or imo another form of right by conquest she took it over no matter how many times her back is against the wall they always(and it doesn't matter if it was good writing earlier or perceived bad writing later) made her come out on top and anyone with that ego amd mindset she has would rightfully think the way she does here and that's that nothing can stop her, and while we know it's ridiculous from her perspective why is it? She hasn't lost yet it's not fumbling to make her overlook something(even though she didn't)

    Can't trust people hating on Sansa. Sansa is perfect. She is right to not trust Dany. She is right to highlight to Tyrion that trusting Cersei is stupidity. And she was spot on when she questioned Jon if he did it for love or the North? Let's not forget Dany was willing to help him before he bent the knee and he did it anyway so Sansa is right there. Sansa is right to point how Dany burnt food trains in south and came empty handed to the North. It anything Tywion taught us what makes good Kings/Queens is food is of this world and this world is sinful. No army can survive without food. People act like Sansa is worst because she points and highlights the faults in other fav characters. Of course stans hate that.
    No matter how rushed the plot is or lack of character development lets not forget Sansa learnt the game from the best be it LF, Cersei, Margery, Olenna, Tyrion and best of all she knows how to catch a lie. What did Maester Aemon once replied to Ser Alliser? Ser Alliser: How did you acquire this magic to know who is telling a lie? Maester Aemon: I grew up in Kingslanding! Remember Sansa's first lesson in Kingslanding was 'we are all liars here'.

      Some folks don't like Sansa, because she can be stuck up and self centered. She's been like that since the first season. Sansa may be right about Dany, but antagonizing her isn't helping.

    • @NyikoDoris
      @NyikoDoris Рік тому +4

      RIGHT! Sansa didn't speak a single lie and she's hated for being real. People villainized her for telling Jon to listen to her about Ramsey in S6 even though everything she said about him and his tactics turned out to be true; she was villainized for asking Jon not to go down to the south where their brother, father, uncle and grandfather were murdered because Starks never fare well there; she was the villain when she told Jon to reward the new houses that stood with them against Ramsey and now she's the bad guy because she asks a valid question: what will the armies eat? It's tens of thousands of Dothraki, Unsullied AND Northerners who brought their own food; what will the dragons eat? there were no provisions provided because Dany blew that shit up in S7 ep 4 and now Jon comes back with a TARGARYEN queen of course she and the lords and ladies are gonna be pissed. I'm glad Arya stood by Sansa and understood that people and logistics are Sansa's strong points

    • @abbystark3898
      @abbystark3898 Рік тому +7

      @@NyikoDoris Sansa breathes and people hate her all while other characters doing thousands of mistakes are praised. I don't get GOT viewers. Jon died, Arya almost died and Sansa survived extreme amounts of torture and abuse but she is still weak as per viewers.
      Jons failure as commander is blamed on Sansa. Arya's failure of falling in LFs trap is blamed on Sansa. It's like fans don't like pointing the mistakes of their favourites so they blame everything on Sansa.
      Tywin rightly pointed how naming a 12yo boy in position of power could be disaster. And what did Jon do? He appointed that little boy as lord of castle and due to his lack of experience this boy left his people back home and came alone and later got murdered by dead people when he went back to bring them to safety. But of course Sansa was bad for wanting someone to overlook those castle till the kids grow and prove their loyalty.
      Jon himself questions Stannis about his long stay at castle black and pointed how he don't have food for him or his army. Yet somehow Jon didn't care when Dany came empty handed expecting Sansa to somehow grow extra food in middle of winter. Those dragons ate like 20-30 goats in one sitting while being sick and Dany says they are not eating well lol. On top she has audacity to say they can eat whatever they want. It's almost like the audience have selective memory and listening abilities when it comes to Dany.

    • @abbystark3898
      @abbystark3898 Рік тому +3

      @@dwnkaomwn3953 Well Dany didn't help either by holding Jon on dragonstone and then declaring herself the queen of 7 kingdoms. Also Sansa would by now have learnt how Dany burnt people alive and burnt wagon loads of food in the south. And when she say Dragons can eat whatever they want simply confirms Sansa's suspicion.
      If anything Sansa isn't self centred from last few seasons. She happily accepted Jon as King even though by right she is above him, she happily wanted Bran to take position as lord of WF upon his return, she refused the lords to replace her as Queen and defended Jon's position. She prepared the castle, asked people to come to WF for shelter, sorted food and resources for her people. If it's called self centred then so be it. Because if anything Sansa learnt from her lessons that people in power can be abusive and take unfair advantage of their position. Dany has proved no different.
      Questioning your lord or queen isn't necessarily antagonising. Many people including the likes of Ned, Tywin, Tyrion have questioned their kings in front of people. Sansa is clearly annoyed that Dany didn't bring any food and now as Lady of WF she will have to make arrangements for such big army in middle of winter. If anything it shows her that Daenerys isn't a wise ruler. Also this narrative of but who cares about food when army of dead is coming is ridiculous. Army needs food and no army can survive or fight battles without it.

    what about Janos, who was begging for mercy, before Jon beheaded him? what about olly, Allister and all those men of the night's watch? they did him wrong and Jon killed them because of that (I'm not here to argue whether what he did was right or not).
    same as Dany. did Sam forgot the tarlys were fighting against Dany? did he forgot how wars can be? did he also forgot everything he read about Dany, to maester aemon and how he actually thought about her being "a quite of a woman" for spearing the former masters and refusing to leave meereen until the former slaves were secure?
    "you bend the knee to save your people, would she do the same?"
    and first of all, Jon only knelt when Dany had already pledge to fight for the north, he bend the knee cause he was in love.
    second, save from whom? right now, after the dead are defeated, who would Dany save if she bend the knee? so Jon is the only one capable of saving the people from... literally no one

      @@abbystark3898 oh, so now we are pointing things without context? fine, a girl who watches a man being devoured by hounds, without even flinching (and smiling at the end), the girl who almost got her brother killed cause she wouldn't tell them about the army of the vale, only because. a girl who helped the murder of her own father, and got her direwolf killed cause she was in love with some prince, hmm why would anyone trust that person?

      @@abbystark3898 have you even read fire and blood? Aegon did worse than Dany and people still loved and respected him cause that's how things were back then. dany burned the witch who murdered her husband and unborn child. she burned slave masters (as she should), but i guess, Sansa would do different, right? just say you sympathise with them and leave.
      "forces people to bend the knee", you mean, her enemies? the ironborn, Martells, Tyrells and other small houses pretty much joined her because they wanted to. what would you expected her to do with the people who destroyed her most powerful ally and was fighting against her? pardon them? just like Sansa was willing to pardon those 2 childrens who were allies with the Boltons? (if it wasn't Jon, they would've been thrown out of their own houses).
      gosh, have you even read a song of ice and fire?

      @@Nihilanth There is a difference. Sansa watched Ramsay eaten alive because he was direct cause of her abuse, torture, rape and suffering. On other hand Dany burnt Sam's father and brother because they won't bend to her, she burnt food to get back to Cersei.
      Sansa was naive back then to trust the queen and anyone who is responsible for Ned's death is Ned himself. His honour killed him. Sansa brought in army of the vale to save Jon and his men? Too bad commander Jon was so emotional during war planning he ignored all the points Sansa told him not to do. Sansa warned him Ramsay will use Rickon to bait him and it is what happened. Also Sansa can't promise an army she does not have, she is waiting for LF and Jon is/was in the rush ever since they started war planning. He didn't even let her go to other houses for help. He was lucky Sansa used her smartness to save his ass or he and his men would be slaughtered in that death circle Ramsay made around him.
      Lady died for the crimes committed by Arya. If not for Sansa keeping silent it would be Arya who would be facing the wrath of the queen. Also it was Nymeria who was requested by the Queen but Lady had to pay the price for Nymeria attacking the prince. Also it was Robert's failure as a king to provide justice that killed Lady.

    The absolute worst season of GOT. Lol. And I don’t think it’s right to say she shud think b4 she kills. Lol. If u at war you can’t always do that. She gave his dad a choice he chose death. And they tried to talk the brother into staying but his dumbass chose death too. Lol. That’s not on Danny, that’s on him.

Why wud I willingly lay down my life. They both made terrible decisions. I just don’t see how when she does bad to people that have already done her wrong. People say oh that’s one of the signs. Nah people just grasping at straws trying to make up for poor writing and story telling. Lol

      @@kingvii6206 the problem is she didn’t need to go all or nothing. She could’ve given more options as to what to do with those men. She could’ve arrested them for the time being, but she wants so badly to be ‘the breaker of chains’ that she wouldn’t do that. The problem is that burning the Tarlys is getting rid of another house where many of them have been wiped out already. Daenerys burning them leaves the people of the Reach seeing Daenerys as an enemy, and if Daenerys feels threatened by that, is she going to burn them too because they disagree with her? That sounds quite like her father, and we all know what happened to him by all the enemies he made. Not to mention that her burning the Tarlys instead of beheading them instantly reminds people of Aerys. I know Dragons are her thing, but as the person who wants to be the next ruler of the seven kingdoms, you have to be aware of its history. People are already going to be terrified of her because she’s related to the Mad King. But on top of that, she’s showing signs of what Aerys did as well. Many Westerosi aren’t gonna be fans.
      I’m not saying I don’t understand why she did it. Hell, on first watch, I agreed with her. And at the end of the day you can make the rebuttal that they were soldiers. But watching it several times more just left me uneasy. Daenerys is very impulsive and doesn’t think things through properly. She’s always been like that, and that’s why she needs advisors.
