My sprinkle dust faerie heart came up with my own theory of Tyrion becoming not so clever as when in Kings Landing. I've been chastised before, but this is my opinion only. Here we go... Tyrion once said 'a mind needs books like a sword needs a wetstone" and he always had to be on his toes, looking out for his life. Once he got to Essos and there weren't so many books, he wasn't constantly watching over his shoulder, his fight or flight relaxed. Think about the scene with him. Grey Worm & Missande when he fake laughed at her joke. His mind wasn't being stimulated (his blade was getting dull, with nothing really to sharpen it.

The Northerners aren’t just stubborn, thousands of them just died to win their independence, and here comes the daughter of the mad King, with dragons. They know absolutely nothing about her. There is no reason they should trust her or know she’s ‘good’. It’s a huge clash of ideology, both sides are carrying a lot of baggage coming into this. I don’t blame Sansa for being cool with the flattery, it was too close to what Cersei said to her back in Se1E01. Dany is used to being cheered & adored, this is not the greeting she expected, despite Jon’s warnings. Sadly our favourites are going to come into conflict. No avoiding it. Dany sees the North as hers, Sansa sees the North as free…Jon is caught in the middle.
I waited 9 years to get through the series lol. On a binge rewatch, the last two seasons work better than they did on a weekly viewing. But my only issue is they tried to squeeze 3 seasons into two shortened seasons. They did explain everything... it's not Lost. But it just went too fast in the last two seasons.
POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR S8: I think its not what happens in season 7/8 is how it haooens, the script is so poor aswell as the storyline structure (partly down to the being rushed but also really cluncky dialogue). The portion of the fant base complaining about jon/daenerys/ brans endings just wanted fan service, but butchering so many side characters to trim the plot into 1 sory arc was hwere things started to fall apart. Littlefinger, varys, sand snakes, euron, essos story line etc were all just cut abruptly with little to no resolution on seasons of build up imo.

Hi Miya, pretty lady.... its a shame a great show like GOT went on such a downslide after episode 2 of season 8. There should have been 10 seasons and 10 episodes for each season. Was so rushed. Are you going to watch the Jon Snow spin off when that comes out and also is House of the Dragon worth watching? Havent seen it yet. Still annoyed how GOT ended.
I think not to go too far into but I think generally when you get to the core of it I think people just didn't like the way it ended and I completely agree I think we all forsor a very different ending but obviously I'll leave that to you to discover and explore. However I personally still think season 8 was amazing especially episodes 1-3 kept me on the edge of my seat! Having flash backs to some of the best cinematography on TV to date, the acting, the action, even to the storyline this show has always set a standard as it being one of THE BEST shows out just not the best ending is all! Anyway I think that was down to.the directors of the show and the new show House of Dragon has completely swayed me over back onto the game of thrones bandwagon because let me tell you! It was a bloody fantastic first season and it gets you excited again to be emersed into that world again! Okay enjoy the journey and you're right don't listen to anyone and make your own judgement ✨️
This was largely how I felt too. It definitely helped that I had only watched S1-4 back when it came out and only now binged 5-8. This meant I had years of negative media giving me very low expectations for the last 2 seasons so going in I was ultimately very pleased with most of it. There are things to criticize heavily throughout if one is inclined of course and I have some things I wish were handled differently and had taken a different direction but agree even what they went with could have been done a lot better if it had one more season. As opposed to so many shows that you end up feeling should have ended much earlier lol Even the last 2 episodes that have many choices that I pretty much hate, also had many scenes that were so powerful and I absolutely loved. I can see why the end leaves such a bad taste in peoples mouth though. Not enough for me to not have enjoyed the vast majority of it or be turned off of GOT, I'm with you that anyone not watching HOTD because of it is just plain missing out.
your problem and of many many sheep is that u thought somehow this was going to end like a romantic hollywood stereotype movie when u were told and warned many times that this was not that story!! did u really think jon and dany were going to go sail into the sunset and westeros ruled forever with peace and love and all was well and there was no cost to this game of thrones? loooool shame on you all really! george martin said it himself many many times but you people never paid attention! he said that fundamentally there were 2 majors threats to westeros : the ice threat and the fire threat! and both would be resolved in the end. and so the tv show did! yes it was disappointing that we didnt get moooore of what happened in episode 3, spread out all over , if u get my meaning , no spoilers for her, after hearing so many times winter is coming winter is coming... but honestly i dont think they even knew how to do that or if it was even possible financially and to actually do that... as to the end, the problem is it was rushed and abrupt...and the sillyness of the choice of the last council of the ruler of westeros... again rushed rushed and badly written... the final stage of dany makes perfect sense and frankly i wish we had a full season of her like that! so much more interesting! the people who expected her to be something else again didnt pay attention... this story was always about jon and dany as george has said many times! and so, in theire somehwat cheesy , rushed version of the end of it, it was! it was all about them, these two characters the ending of game of thrones and song of ice and fire was and will be focused on them. and that is true to G Martins ideas and intentions. ps : if one considers they originally wanted to make a movie out of season 8 one has to feel lucky we got 6 hours instead! and it still wasnt enough! but it tells you also without the original writers dialogue and words and books, it was always going to be an attempt at something...not an adaptation... it is still and will always be one of the most iconic endings ever! i enjoyed most of it i just wish the cheesy writing had been dropped and they had ... 1 more episode to better adapt and prepare the story and characters...
Jon definitely bent it for love. Remember, Daenerys already agreed to come North without a knee bend after Viserion died and she saw the threat with her own eyes. Sansa clocked that Jon bent the knee because he fell in love with Daenerys, which she feels his emotions are clouding his judgement. Jon is stuck in the middle between Dany, who sees the North as her birthright, and Sansa and the North who sees the North as an independent nation they fought to get and keep. The overall issue isn't about the Long Night, it's about what happens afterward. It's about who is going to hold the North in the end. And clearly at this point, Dany and the North/Sansa don't agree with who should rule it.

Sesson 8 is not bad its just to rushed. I enjoyed it alot more on a seconed watch. North wanted to be inderpendent so they made Rob king. Still wanted to be inderpendent so they made John king. Sunsa seems to be the only one that understands what the common northern people want.
Really love the scenes of the arrival in Winterfell. The perspective of a little boy trying to get a good view, everyone's reactions to the dragons, the many reunions. Also just finally watched Witcher S2 and had a smile on my face as soon as I realized one of the characters was Kristofer Hivju. Soon as I heard his voice it was so distinctive no mistaking it was Tormund!
Tyrion wasn't jealous. He's worried about a relationship distracting her in this pivotal moment. She has 2 wars to fight, now is not the time to drag some pretty boy to bed. Tyrion has seen love destroy many great leaders.
They done Dany dirty, source material aside coz the entire series from season 1 deviated a lot from the source material. Dany deserved better after all she's been through, she deserved to rule the 7 kingdoms.

Honestly going into this unbiased of those comments is the best- many people just got mad because it’s not what they thought would happen and it didn’t cater to their wants. Season seven was great and eight wasn’t a horrible season either, sure it has its issues like any other season but in the end it all made sense to me even if I was angry at first.
