Putting this channel/video into perspective...The first car Savagegeese reviewed was a Buick Lacrosse over 7 years ago. The vision, persistence, and growth has been unreal to watch. Amazing video guys.
This is totally lost on most modern automotive engineers. The quest for Nurburgring lap times, 0-60 times, the CAFE fuel economy, emission and noise standards has forced manufacturers to go with turbos. I like turbo cars, but most of them just don't sound great. Having to work the gears to keep revs up is a very satisfying experience, and one that sadly is becoming rarer. Go find yourself a nice NA Porsche or BMW and rev the shit out of it in a tunnel. If you even have a pulse, the hair on the back of your neck will stand up, and you will smile inside. I am fortunate enough to to do this on a nearly daily basis. I will roll the windows down, even in the dead of a Chicago winter to enhance the experience. If you have the means, I highly recommend it.
I love my GT3. I daily it, and it is a sad reminder that this era is over......one quick thought on the review that I think was missed: as a Daily, it's not about 'chasing the redline', it is about how connected and mechanical the car is. Like winding a fine watch, there is pleasure in small tasks. The engine makes pleasing sounds in every band of RPM. And the sounds change every 2K RPM into something very different. The shifter has a meatiness that is absent in non-GT porsches...each part shows a harmony at 2/10ths and 3/10ths and so on. When you do play with the car, it is a whole other level. Sounds now become 3-4-5times louder, engine wails, brakes, shifter, all of those facets focus the car into something I have never seen outside of my race-car. And then you come out of the turn and put it into 5th gear and the car is a daily again. It's magical.
Well said, imagine being a valve spring in one of those engine after 5k on track and 15k of this type of road driving. That year is your GT3? 3.8 or 4.0? How many miles or kilometers is your commute? How often do you make that drive? Finally what’s your annual consumables lookin like? Lol
@@djBurgers That's usually how it goes isn't it? 90% of guys who call 911's overrated have never driven one or have very little experience with them. There's something for everyone with 911's and usually hardcore car guys don't even get a chance to ride in a GT3/GTS let alone track one. I think that's when everything changes and you can't deny the superiority of the 911 platform as a race and street car.

I had a 992S and a GTS on order, I just couldn't justify spending $75,000 more for almost the same car. But knew if I wanted a GT3, this is the game I had play !! My dealer sensing my reluctance happened to have 991.2, GT3 w/ MT, 6,500 km and buckets, I bought it. Wow, what a car! There is no comparison, on every metric this car is so much better, as a sports car. The crazy thing is, it's even more comfortable in the city with potholes and bumps. The only downside is drives where at cruising speeds it's revving higher. It's so good, rewarding, fun to drive, and a special car that never lets you forget. I can’t imagine how a 992GT3 could be better. I tracked my 992S for two years and loved it, but this GT3 will be something else. Great review that I saw before buying my GT3, love this channel!!

FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY!!! After almost a year of waiting, this video popped up on my feed! Fantastic job! As a 991.2 GT3 6MT owner, some comments: 1) the sound that the 4.0L makes between 7500 to 9000 rpm is an experience like no other. 2) The manual transmission is the best in the business, bar none. 3) The take rate for the 6MT should be a wakeup call to Italian manufacturers that we want a proper manual transmission back. Ferrari/Lamborghini have become technical exercises in speed, and have taken the driver out of the experience. 4) The .1 engines have finger follower issues that will depreciate the car dramatically when the engine warranty expires at 10 years, 120k miles. 5) The engine is remarkably easy to access and do maintenance (oil changes for example). 6) For all the marketing around the 992 GT3 being better, the reality is that the lack of gas particulate filters, better brake pads, and better exhaust sound make the 991.2 the better driving experience. 7) The car delivers on an emotional level far higher than the spec sheet would suggest 8) This is truly one of the all-time best sweet spots in the Porsche lineup and the 991.2 is a modern classic 9) The party line is that they didn't have money to develop the MT initially but this is also conveniently very smart marketing to get the PDK accepted in the marketplace and then to satisfy the enthusiasts later with the MT. You really think Porsche couldn't make a MT from the start?? 10) Can you guys make a video of B-roll with no talking and just the sound of the engine revving up and down in a separate video?
Point 2 is very far from the truth... I drove most of the manual car in the industry, own 20 cars, i am a former racing driver and the GT3 manual box is average. Not as bad as my 3.8RS box which is absolute shit. It feels plasticy and precise but not in a nice way.

One of the things about Porsche's GT division has always been how accessible Andreas Preuninger is. He loves to talk about cars and each and every time I see him on videos or interviews, he is never shy about expressing his love for cars. I am happy to switch from BMW to Porsche. Never mind the little "issues" with Porsche.
I'll probably need to watch this 10 times to catch all of the details. This makes for a great Friday before a cold and snowy weekend. Thank you for all of the work you put into this, it shows.
Phenomenal work, guys. The most thorough look at these cars that’s available. I also love that Porsche GT cars has Andreas Preuninger at their helm. It just goes to show how important it is to have someone who really understands and cares what the customers want in charge of the major engineering decisions.

Frankly I never liked Porsche, even 5 years ago. I always thought it was those super priced "to compete with Ferraris" kind of cars, and I liked Ferraris. - Then the SG showed me the error of my ways and I gained a whole new world of insight into the Porsches and their engineering. That's not what matters lmao. What matters is if his viewers enjoy the content. These porsche videos are literally identical with a few words swapped around.
Let me put up to you this way, if I'm sitting through a 40+ min video on any car you guys must definitely be doing something right. These reviews are 2nd to none. Keep it up!🤘
Had to watch this on my big screen with surround sound to appreciate that 9000rpm symphony. I don’t know if my stars will align enough to allow me the opportunity of owning a GT3, but I will own a manual transmission 911 someday. Thank you for the time and effort put into making this video.
@28:00 That first minute or two of driving the 991.2 down that back road got my heart racing like no car has ever done! You guys are the best in the industry and this entire video was truly impressive. Mark, Jack.......... amazing. Thank you.
The automotive world needs more people like Andreas Preuninger; so much passion for his cars and the sheer amount of knowledge he drops with no hesitation (or pretension) is so refreshing.
Both 991.2 have aftermarket exhausts (6:58 white one has what looks like Soul, red one 27:27 look at the exhaust tip size, that is not stock), and the 991.1 has the stock center muffler 7:09. That's where the sound difference is. Stock for stock, 991.1 has more rasp at 8.5 to 9k than the 991.2 does. I bet that roll cage'd red 991.2 also has a DSC sport v3 PASM controller in it which really helps track manners and street manners, not a ton for the 991.2 which comes with good pasm software out of the box, but changes a ton the character of the 991.1 which is bouncy out of the box - you can set up the 991.1 to feel better than the stock .2. Both .1 and .2 have rear helper springs.
Watching this video just made my day. I continually caught myself smiling during the ‘Driving Impressions’ segment. It was as if I were right there with you. Great job guys.
Absolutely love the channel the dry humor mixed with the actual breakdowns of why companies did what they did and engineering specifics with the drives is outstanding the production is top notch absolutely great reviews rather a Porsche or the Buick suv designed for the Chinese market every review is great
I drove the 991.2 GT3 at the Porsche experience and it was an amazing car. The sound and grip is eye opening to someone like me that has never driven such a capable car. You can beat the piss out of it and it doesn’t flinch or overheat. Go to 9000 RPM over and over and it doesn’t mind. The steering, brakes, and ability to hammer it early coming out of corners is all great.
This has quickly become my most favourite channel so watch for car review and analysis. Great job guys, absolutely love your work. Keep it up, will keep watching and supporting from Australia 🇦🇺
"We will never change the layout of the combustion engine", wasn't expecting such a strong statement about that, but good on them for making it clear where the direction is going in the future as I heard a lot of talk about them changing it due to the race cars moving more forward. Great content!
Another one? Oh my. These reviews are among the very best I've ever seen! So much knowhow and quality it's almost unheard of. SavageGeese has evolved in a good way. Fantastic to see and what a way to start a new year.
Again another amazing video. This is the reason SavageGeese is my all time favorite UA-cam channe, no other channel gives you this level of detail and quality and yet is still very entertaining. This video and the 992 GT3 video gave me immense respect for Porsche.
I use to work for a certain winningest company with a 911 Cup Car race team. Porsche stops offering warranty and support with engines over 40 race hours and recommends replacement/refresh. We had several engines still putting down 98% of their original power with 80+ hours and one particular customer who won multiple races with one that had over 100 race hours on it. They are incredible engines.
Exceptional video! I've really enjoyed this docuseries. I appreciate the amount of work to make such high-quality docuseries. Thank you Savagegeese and Porsche.
You guys are literally the only two car journalists who’s input and opinion I value. Every point, every commentary, every note you guys made during this review was world class.
Well Done Mark and Jack well done 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿. You guys deserve a standing ovation, starting the year off right! The more I watch Porsche reviews the more I need one. I would’ve never learned so much about the 911 until I watched your detailed reviews. For me it would be the .2. But overall a used Carrera GTS would be good enough. Thanks guys. Simply brilliant.
This video is such a dream. Thank you Goose for such a wealth of information. It's almost unbelievable they were able to improve on it afterwards with the 992!
You guys are truly producing videos as good as the best automotive channels out there. This honestly could be a video from Carfection or Evo. Far better than those outlets that think they need to get content out several times per week. Bravo guys. This is a wonderful video on an awesome subject. I know most people say 911’s are overrated and too expensive but honestly, when you find the magic behind the “special ones”, and that’s not just the GT cars, you can’t help but fall in love.
Never driven a Porsche. I’ve been in a 70’s air cooled one that a family member has out in Michigan and was in another late 80s one when I was a kid. These cars are special and remarkable, not my type of car, but I can certainly appreciate what has been done with this car over all the other German vehicles out there. I think Mark’s final thoughts summed it up best. Tremendous work on this video and it deserves millions of views! This isn’t just a shaking camera screaming meme fest. This is an actual in-depth and technological view on this vehicle that blends emotion and science in a beautiful ~45 minute masterpiece.
What a great freaking video. What a great freaking channel. The in depth of what goes into making the vehicle, whether it be a Porsche or a premium Korean CVT SUV, is something only this channel provides. Quality. Thank You.

You can feel the passion about cars when you talk and through the production!! I’m surprised you guys haven’t been hired by big companies to do there commercial yet. Amazing work fellas!
When watching all these videos on UA-cam and appreciating what Porsche has done to this platform over the years ONLY your review does match this effort by Porsche. Well done guys! Greets from Austria!
Thanks for another well thought out and deliberate review. For most of us watching, this is as close as we'll ever come to driving one of these cars (can I even call it a car) and that's what makes them so special. The one percent that has watched this and intend to buy one, please use it as it was designed and drive it.
Definitely some exaggeration of the differences between the .1 and .2, but great work as always on yet another beautiful video! From first hand experience, I can say that no matter which generation GT3 you buy, you'll be completely in love.
@@ArtVandelayOfficial there is quite a bit of misinformation in this video… the 3.8 also has Ti connecting rods, dry sump, etc. The suspension is also the same. Savagegeese looks so happy doing these Porsche reviews. That's all that matters.
His Chung king minion likes it even more.
They should change their name to savage Porsche with the amount of Porsche reviews they do.
That's not what matters lmao. What matters is if his viewers enjoy the content. These porsche videos are literally identical with a few words swapped around.
@@DB-sd3cw Who asked you?
Let me put up to you this way, if I'm sitting through a 40+ min video on any car you guys must definitely be doing something right. These reviews are 2nd to none. Keep it up!🤘
Had to watch this on my big screen with surround sound to appreciate that 9000rpm symphony. I don’t know if my stars will align enough to allow me the opportunity of owning a GT3, but I will own a manual transmission 911 someday. Thank you for the time and effort put into making this video.
I hope you get that gt3 one day🤞
@@theprodegypk for now I am blessed to own a F80 M3.
@28:00 That first minute or two of driving the 991.2 down that back road got my heart racing like no car has ever done! You guys are the best in the industry and this entire video was truly impressive. Mark, Jack.......... amazing. Thank you.
The BEST automotive review channel on UA-cam if you actually care about cars. Another amazing video guys
What a great surprise on this fine Friday. Great content guys. Thanks.
I know functionally the 992 GT3 is objectively a better car but the 991, but the 991 looks so much cleaner and closer to perfection than the new one.
The automotive world needs more people like Andreas Preuninger; so much passion for his cars and the sheer amount of knowledge he drops with no hesitation (or pretension) is so refreshing.
It is a crime that you guys aren't well over 1Mil subs, best thing I've seen this week
Amazing. I just bought a 991.1 GT3.
What a car, I’m already so attached to it
Both 991.2 have aftermarket exhausts (6:58 white one has what looks like Soul, red one 27:27 look at the exhaust tip size, that is not stock), and the 991.1 has the stock center muffler 7:09.
This is the review these cars deserved. Bravo.
Watching this video just made my day. I continually caught myself smiling during the ‘Driving Impressions’ segment. It was as if I were right there with you. Great job guys.
Absolutely love the channel the dry humor mixed with the actual breakdowns of why companies did what they did and engineering specifics with the drives is outstanding the production is top notch absolutely great reviews rather a Porsche or the Buick suv designed for the Chinese market every review is great
I'm really happy I took my time to watch this fully and I was glued to my monitor.
Thanks for this, a great video.
Thanks guys , your reviews are now hands down the best on UA-cam,!!!!!
Great job, guys! Best, most comprehensive and detailed automotive content on UA-cam or anywhere!
Your audio captures the exhaust soundtrack perfectly, it makes even my phone speakers SING.
This has quickly become my most favourite channel so watch for car review and analysis. Great job guys, absolutely love your work. Keep it up, will keep watching and supporting from Australia 🇦🇺
Just fast forward to the Driving Impressions and start with that on surround sound! Wow, that sound would NEVER get old! Great job as always guys!
I have never watched a better car review. You guys nailed it! All the essential perspectives on the 911 were included. Well done, guys!
Can we talk about the transitions in this video? Because they're phenomenal! Fantastic work as always guys!
Again another amazing video. This is the reason SavageGeese is my all time favorite UA-cam channe, no other channel gives you this level of detail and quality and yet is still very entertaining. This video and the 992 GT3 video gave me immense respect for Porsche.
Superb video on so many counts. The sparkle in everyone's eyes when describing and driving this car was so enjoyable. Just superb.
Great job in this video
On this video
Wish I could afford such a great car..best auto review I have ever seen.Keep up the good work you two.will be back for next one!!!
Wow, easily one of your best productions ever Guys! Thank you
Best reviews out there. That said Final Thoughts on the GT3. Perfection!
Exceptional video! I've really enjoyed this docuseries. I appreciate the amount of work to make such high-quality docuseries. Thank you Savagegeese and Porsche.
This was beautifully done guys. Bravo!
You guys are literally the only two car journalists who’s input and opinion I value. Every point, every commentary, every note you guys made during this review was world class.
Unbelievably great job. Thank you for the work you put in to making content such as this. Keep rocking!
Dream car. Maybe one day it will happen. The quality of this video is spectacular.
Great content as usual. I could watch a new Porsche video from you guys every week.
Excellent! Special big thank you for bringing so much of the sonorous experience over to this side of the screen!
The 911 is a master class in iterative engineering. In each generation, they keep pushing forward and getting better.
This video is amazing. A video that shows honestly how special the GT3 mane is to me. I'll get me a GT3 RS one of these days.
damn, that's not just a review, it's a whole movie!
Next level content - This is my go to channel for 'in depth' car information and reviews.
This video is such a dream. Thank you Goose for such a wealth of information. It's almost unbelievable they were able to improve on it afterwards with the 992!
Gotta say this video is extremely well done. The production value and the information conveyed is incredible
incredible video! thank you so much 🤍
You guys are truly producing videos as good as the best automotive channels out there.
Who wouldn't appreciate this level of video production, admiration, level of quality, and level of excitement from this car!!
This is the culmination of passion and engineering.
Quality. Thank You.
Really great stuff guys . Just discovered your channel and I appreciate your attention to detail so much . Keep up the good work .
A very underrated channel in my opinion, no one else is doing this kinda job when it comes to car’s.
I got chills watching you drive this. What a work of art.
A 40min savage geese review😫 making my whole weekend
Wow. GT3 is my dream car -which in reality I know will require a lotto win for me to own… but I love these detailed videos. I watch all your stuff on my 4K Tv - the quality you gentlemen deliver is second to none. Awesome vid!
This is it. This is the pinnacle of ICE. It will never be better. These things will be worth a fortune in the years to come, as we further transition to EV
Wait until pneumatic or electromagnetic valvetrains start going mainstream. there's still a lot of room for improvement
This was so good I had to put another post 😂 awesome vid guys!!! You are truly the best UA-cam car reviewer by far it’s not even close!! You can feel the passion about cars when you talk and through the production!! I’m surprised you guys haven’t been hired by big companies to do there commercial yet. Amazing work fellas!
This video is spectacular, guys. And so it the GT3. Thanks for an entertaining 45 minutes.
When watching all these videos on UA-cam and appreciating what Porsche has done to this platform over the years ONLY your review does match this effort by Porsche. Well done guys! Greets from Austria!
I’ve said it before, but your videography is orgasmic for us car people. Thank you fellas.
Finally a proper GT being reviewed ( manual and buckets), nicely done
Thank you, as always. Especially for this one!
One of the best engines ever put in a road car. Probably the best engine of the last decade at least.
This is the best car channel Review Ever.
Mark and Jack, another phenomenal video. Thank you
Well done! Thanks for the video guys!
Not really exaggeration, their opinions come from thorough experience on road and circuit
I'm going to assume you own a .1 and feel triggered and shortchanged
@@ArtVandelayOfficial there is quite a bit of misinformation in this video… the 3.8 also has Ti connecting rods, dry sump, etc. The suspension is also the same. I’m not faulting their opinion, but the facts they share on the gen 1 are simply wrong. Nothing triggered about my comment. The 991.2 is a better car…
Have a wonderful day!
Everything you guys are doing just gets better and better. Absolutely blown away between the amount of work you put into this and how it actually turned out.
Savagegeese to the moon in 2022! It will be an absolute crime of humanity if people don’t pick-up on your channel so that you can reach 1M subscribers this year.
Amazing content, editing, and detail. So cool to have the interviews but really like the tech details.
Thank you for taking your time with these. My dad, brother, and I are really enjoying watching these and then discussing what we’ve either learned or what our opinions might be. Anyways, thank you!
Superb video. I raced 996 and 997 GT 3 Cup cars had to retire in 2011
due to a bad back. Meantime 77 years old , I drive an AUDI R8 V10 RWS 2018.
Sounds almost as good as these Porsches. Homework done very very well gentleman.
Keep up the great work.
Thank you.👍
Interesting quote around the 27 minute mark: “We will never change the layout with the combustion engine in the rear.”
Notice that he used the phrase “combustion engine”, Leaving open the possibility of electric assistance on the front axle.
Only Jack was very negative saying ICE is going away like tomorrow. So much I do not like it that I can't hear it even.
