You’re correct in stating the differences between motorcycle and car decibel levels, that’s my pet peeve as well what’s good for the geese is good for the gander! Personally I’ve run stock on all me bikes and trucks for the past 2 decades. Good video.
I had Vance & Hines Short Shots on my 05 Heritage. Big Mistake. I was embarrassed to start the bike at my house because I didn't want to bother my neighbors. I'd coast down my street before starting my bike. It was obnoxious and I'd never install them again. Love my quiet DCT.
The opinion of your policeman friend about enforcement may reflect his intentions, and the opinions of some others, but riders should keep in mind, they are providing probable cause for police officers to stop and detain them (even for a short time) when there may be no other reason for a stop or detention. Who knows what other potential trouble that stop or detention could bring?
If my state did pass such a silly law I'd probably just put my old exhaust on for inspections. If it became too much of a pain in the rear I'd probably move. Since I work 100% remote I live where I live cause I want to and the minute I don't want to I'll leave and give a different state my taxes.
I've already heard that the main problem now is getting someone to install your aftermarket exhaust since dealers aren't allowed to. I'm really wonder if this law will stay. Thanks for watching
Good Morning Craig, aftermarket exhaust for me are a thing of the past with the exception of getting on my ZX14 every now and then. It's not crazy loud but louder than my Gold Wing lol. Very interesting topic because when I was stationed in Germany a modified exhaust can be a concern. And I say that because nothing is preventing you from buying an aftermarket exhaust, but if you are stopped the local Polezi (Police) will pull out a decimeter to check the level of sound. If it's louder than the authorized limit you will get a nice little fine. But that was life in Germany LOL. On another note, how is your rear facing camera attached to your bike? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for watching Tony. I do wonder if the "loudness" concern is going to be spreading around the country. I use a ram ball mount to attach to my handlebars. Actually, I think I copies what cruiseman had done. He showed how he did it on one of his videos. Ride safe!
@@craighanesworth Thanks for the speedy reply. Yes I got the Gold Strike Bar Mount things then realized it was not a 1 Inch ball needed for the attachment arm. I have a ball mount coming via amazon but the attachment point on the Left of the bike is a little tricky. Ok I'll trek through Cruisemans page and see what I find LOL. Love the trailer, now that my wife wants to ride a little I may invest in a trailer as well. Thanks again for your help.
When I was in college in western PA, Genesee was the bottom of the barrel. Had to be cold to drink it. Worked for a beer distributor in college and Genesee was the only beer we could drink for free. 😝

I spoke with several State Troopers and Local LEO's and they said same thing. They wont pull you over just for the exhaust.
My Honda Shadow is stock, except the Memphis Shades windscreen.

NYS has had that same law for snowmobiles for quite some time and they ticket for it out on the trails. It's BS.
