    Biggest piece of advice I have for anybody doing this is do the idler arm with the bracket together, remove them together as one piece and install them outside of the truck together then install together. Do it like that and the whole job should take you less than an hour, it's not worth splitting the idler arm from the bracket to save $40

    Great video. Just ordered one for my Denali. The steering felt like an 80’s Chevy and after jacking up the truck to check for play I realized my idler arm had a massive amount of play. Like the drag link could move 1/4-1/2” when moving the wheel side to side. Looks pretty easy from the video. I hope I can get the idler arm to seperate from the drag link that easy.

    I was looking for the torque specs for attaching the idler arm to the idler arm pivot bracket but watching this I felt simultaneously grateful and silly. LOL I immediately realized that with the need for the Allen head driver, there is no way you could get a torque wrench on the nut! Duh!! 🙂 Thanks for another great video!

    How did you pop that bolt out so easily?!? After you put the pieces of wood between it took you one hit and it popped out. I can't seem to get mine to move

    I'm not sure what I'm seeing, but at 0:35 when you're taking off a 21mm nut, it looks like your impact is spinning clockwise?? Is that a reverse thread?

    Did the truck kinda bounce and shake the front end over bumps before replacing the idler arm?

    • @tonyfischer5214
      @tonyfischer5214 3 роки тому +2

      Mine did. Especially going downhill when I hit the brakes. Most people think warped rotors first when that happens but alot of times it is a bad idler arm.

    • @marcusfenske2284
      @marcusfenske2284 3 роки тому +1

      bouncing is shock absorbers. idle arm is more throwing the truck side to side with the sway of the road
