- This 60 minute yin yoga class is designed to stretch and relax into every part of the body’s deep fascia network. It’s a gentle, grounded and slow practice to help you unwind and release tension. Each posture is held for about 3 minutes, followed by a 1 minute rest to allow the energetic effects to expand throughout the body. No props are needed.

A B O U T D E V I D A L Y Y O G A
Hi, I'm Devi. Twenty years ago I was an addict with depression, anxiety and severe body pain. I was drawn to yoga for healing and recovery, but I kept finding myself in classes that increased my stress and insecurity with dogmatic alignment rules meant for people with very different bodies than mine.
I almost quit until I discovered the intuitive practice of Yin Yoga. With Yin, I learned to follow my instincts to connect with a deep well of inner resources for healing and recovery. Now almost 50, I’m devoted to sharing this approach to help others.
In 2003, soon after I began teaching yoga, I founded Tucson Yoga Studio and directed a staff of 10 teachers with a full schedule of Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga classes. We served over 20,000 students a year and we were Tucson's favorite yoga studio for many years.
I sold Tucson Yoga in 2012 and relocated to the San Francisco Bay area where I entered into extensive studies with Paul Grilley. I joined MC Yogi and Amanda Giacomini at Point Reyes Yoga as studio manager and director of the studio’s Yin Yoga Teacher Training program. I’ve now trained and certified over 200 yin yoga teachers since 2015.
Paul Grilley’s influence runs deep in my teachings. I was among the first Yin Yoga teachers that he certified at the 500 hour level in 2013, and I carry forth his life-changing approach to yoga alignment. I’m also greatly inspired by my meditation instructor Lorin Roche who is the author and translator of the Radiance Sutras.
After 20 years of teaching in-person and managing yoga studios, I'm now delighted to be doing all my teaching online, where I've been able to share yin and yang yoga with a global community of students and friends.
When not doing yoga you'll find me dancing, hiking and swimming naked near my home in Southern California.

I did a video of you for the first time yesterday and it was lovely. This morning I did this video and it was truly amazing! I have chronic stress and I'm stuck in fight/flight for many years now and yoga is the only way I feel a bit connected to myself and my body. Amazing flow! I reeeeeally needed something slow moving today! Kali took away all of my vices, and I am in the arms of Devi Ma (haha funny how I landed here). My original plan (after hiking about 6 miles in the AZ sun (which didn't feel like 100+ at all), I decided I was going to come home, do some sort of vinyasa/kundalini, then 30 minutes of yin yoga because there was something funky going on with my piriformis, ending with a gong meditation.
When I was in the shower though, Spirit said... why don't you just do 60 minutes of yin. Then you won't be activating your pitta dosha (my dominant - who needs fire when its already fiery outside?! lol), you'll get the yin you want to stretch out your piriformis and whatever else is going on, and you'll get your "gong meditation" (I just wanted to go deep within and chill out for what's to come next in my life. This is an ending as we speak).
So I got out of the shower and found this. I loooove it! Thank you :D

What modification for dragon would you offer to someone who isn't allowed to apply any pressure on his foot ? Cat's tail ?
Glad you enjoyed this! Upside down dragon is a nice alternative. From golden gate, draw one knee in toward chest.
@@DeviDalyYoga thank you for the alternative ! After surgery (Morton's in left foot) I won't be allowed to apply any pressure on my left foot, so I'm already searching for alternatives😉 and of course I'll do more yin than yang classes during recovery !
