You convinced me - I never want to tear one of those things down. Lol. If mine breaks I'll buy a new one instead. I did the gov spring and fuel pin, and that's as far as I ever want to have to get into that. Thanks for the video - it was interesting seeing exactly what's in these things.
Great videos! I have a question when removing the ve pump from the engine does the engine have to be in tdc compression ? Or as long as it’s tdc it’s ok?
Great video! I have an engine with this pump that immediately goes to full throttle on start up and stays there. The throttle cable and arm are moving fine so I'm guessing it could be the governor or something that's stuck.
I wound the power screw out a little but it just make it difficult to start the engine. I think the next step is to take the top off the pump and look at the governor.
@@CUTTERUPROB I ran a few litres of ATF through the engine so the pump would be filled with it and left it for a few weeks in an effort to dissolve any crap inside the engine. Tonight I fired it up and the governor seems to be working again! It's now running perfectly on pump diesel.
Hey, I need the shim that goes between the plunger and the rotor plate it's about 2.5mm thick. Do you happen to have any laying around from one of these parts pumps that I could buy off of u.
Just coming across your video from rainy old unit kingdom , iv got a perkins 1006 turbo and it had a rotary delphi on it and I want more power , anyway I got a bosch ve off a cummins 6bt had it reconditioned and iv fitted it same firing order everything fits perfectly come to crank it over and I'm hardly getting any fuel to the injectors themselves but loads of fuel is coming from the return line , the injectors pop at 3200psi and cummins pop at 3500psi so it should be easier for the pump , I also removed the stop solenoid plunger out to see if that was the issue and still no difference , question is there a relief valve inside that could be faulty or anything , any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks Tom
Have sMe pump on my 2.4 diesel bmw turbo diesel and question is what would cause this pump to have low pressure to Injectors where even with a electric pump feeding it still hard to bleed at injectors ?
Hey I have a question, once you take to top hat/smoke screw off there is a small tube that goes into the fuel area. What is that thing and why does mine drain diesal out of it? I will pay pal you money if you can answer me.

Thanks for watching
I dropped.my 3200 rpm spring Inside the pump and can't dig it out. Thanks for the video. Now I know how bad I'm screwed....
If you play the pump off the truck and flip in upside down. It will come out.
Should do a teardown of a P-pump next considering there are no videos of the process here on youtube
It’s on the list. I just have to dig out a pump I want to tear apart.
with all these fulcrums breaking and breaking super easy i might add you would think someone would build a lever for less than 400.00 !!

It’s keyed so it doesn’t matter. I just get the key facing out so it’s easy to see.

Governor issue or the power screw is in to far would be my guess
@@CUTTERUPROB Thanks, I'll have a look at the power screw before I start taking it apart.

Great video! Who would you send a VE pump to for a reseal/rebuild?
Depends on where your located
@@CUTTERUPROB I'm in Calgary

I sold most of my part pumps off couple months ago. But if you call a Bosch pump shop they should sell you one
Are there seals beyond the govern gear and such, and does it stay in time if you don't take it out?
they is a bunch of seals in there. if you planning on pulling it apart i will need set back on a pump bench
Hey brother. You know of any videos on taking it off the motor? I have this issue on my first gen of leaking gas and getting air in the injectors
I do have one. Be it’s not really detailed

The valve is in the banjo bolt for the return line. Make sure it have a relief and it’s in the right spot

Can be a few things. But if the pump is not building pressure means there is a issue on the high side of the pump. Plunger/ vane / rotor issue/s

i am not sure the tube you mean, email a pic and i can tell you. robcutterup@outlook.com
Hey I was thinking of doing a ve pump on my 01. Just for better tuning capabilities. Good or bad idea
With a good pump. Will work ver well
Why is the pump junk? what was the fault? faulty part?
This pump the gear wasn’t lined up right and it wrecked the tapper on the cam
How much to rebuild mine
I don’t rebuild them
