But its I'm fault that I was not there when the Video was uploaded
Lol
With spirits on
It was like that already even before Ganondorf got there. Jabun knew how to party hard
Jabun is the definition of Part Animal.
Party Animal
I wonder if anyone has tried reconstructing the island in a 3D modeling program using the broken up chunks we see in-game. It would be interesting to see what the island could've looked like when whole.
OmegaX5000 Ooooh, that’d be cool
That would be so cool
Been waiting for that for years!! Could be a grear Ura-style restoration project.
Unfortunately, it probably wouldn't look anything close to what it originally looked like as many of the pieces are probably beneath the waves.
That's a really good idea. I want to see someone try it.
As someone who unfortunately never got to play The Wind Waker, I just realized that, in much the same way that I tried to figure out how to thaw out Zora's Domain, there were probably many younger players who started out with The Wind Waker who tried to figure out how to restore Greatfish Isle.
Birdie Senpai Unlikely, for Zora's domain you're given a perspective of it before it is frozen over, players would have no idea of what an undestroyed greatfish isle would look like so why would they want to restore something to a state never seen or even mentioned?
I didnt, but I spent hours looking for survivors with a seagull before leaving kupo
Birdie Senpai I’m pretty sure no one tried that
you can play wwhd in an emulator like cemu
I never tried that all since it was already destroyed.
It met its end when they cut the dungeon there, but seriously, the island was supposed to have a dungeon which was cut. Even Stove Top Isle where you use the ice arrows was originally supposed to be the Goron island, featuring a larger design, a village, and its own temple.
"Bootleg boundary break" lol nice
Ganon destroyed it with DORIYAH.
I have a question for you: how did the guardians get to the lower level of the north Lomii labyrinth (where you find the travel medallion) if you can tell me
Bailey Kissel and how do they arrived on the great plateau
Yeah I agree I want to know
@@raph3699- they were following some of the knights and the king. Also like NBC mentioned in an other video, that they are able to climb vertical surfuces.
@@navyeon video or didn't happen
They were probably put there by the sheikah just like the scouts in the test of strength shrines. We have seen them working with the zonai in other examples, such as the shrine in some zonai ruins. It's not hard to believe that they put it there as another test for the hero.
Somebody could theoretically reassemble Greatfish isle using the pieces in 3d modeling software, Id' love to see that!
Hmm there's one thing that bugs me, didn't the master sword lock away his powers and he didn't gain it back till Link pull the sword out. It may not be his power, more likely the triforce of power.
A lightning strike would not be enough to completely shatter the island to the point that we see it in the game. Ganondorf showcases another possibility in the form of his ground pound technique as seen in LoZ:OoT. Ganondorf's ground pound is strong enough to send out a massive shock wave that actually shook the very foundation of Hyrule Castle during the first phase the Boss fight in that game. Since this is the same Ganondorf in LoZ:WW, it is likely that this was the same ground pound technique (just on a much larger, much more powerful scale)!
I say it's probably a rare earthquake or a strong hurricane that ganondorf sent to greatfish isle!
What I'm wondering is, why is the stone slab that was at Greatfish Isle also at Outset Island at the beginning of the game. Who put it there? Was Outset under Jabu's protection too at some point? Was Greatfish Isle a midway trade point between Outset and Windfall where Jabu protected the trade route between the people?
I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!!!!
If you use a seagull to fly to the cave behind Outset Island at the beginning of the game before setting out towards the Forsaken Fortress, you can actually see the stone slab isn't there until after you return to the island.
Most likely the devs just put the stone slab in outset as way to force the players to unlock the bombs before progressing with the story. Consider how to defeat Ghodan in Tower of the Gods, you also need to use the Bombs, not just the Hero's Bow.
They probably were more focused on the game mechanics rather than the in world explanation for why that happened.
@@AeroAngel111 Is that so? I remember swimming back to that place when I still had the the game and seeing the stone slab before Link drowned
@@Prof.SqueakyTits nope, just checked, its not there for story purposes. jabu leaves greatfish and goes to outset while youre at FF
@@keelanesquivel3854 Alrighty then, just misremembering. Sorry bout that

"And the one who created this curse, Ganondorf, specializes in electric magic"
That is very incorrect; he specializes in dark magic, not electrical. Albeit he does use electricity and energy blasts for certain attacks, it's a bit misleading to say that he is to specialize with the sorts. Especially since his powers are referred to as Dark Magic. Possibly there's a chance that all of his spells are conjured from a dark source that allows electrical attacks? It's unclear, as the series never directly states any formal library for a magic system. Although, it has been heavily implied that his magic is evil in nature, having seen Ganondorf perform malefic, arcane acts of strength time after time.
Also something you both forgot Vah Naboris was already a thing that could use electricity (well it is more implied) since Urbosa can use lightning and all the divine beasts mirror the champion’s “element” Ganon more or less just harnessed Naboris’ power
When I was a child playing this game in multiple playthroughs, I just thought that Ganondorf and his forces destroyed the Isle at some point.
Divine_Wrath -right? I thought they were looking for the pearl and destroyed the island in the process
I thought it was a huge meteor that fell from above. Caused perhaps by Ganondorf
"What happened to Great Fish Isle"
C R U N C H
Just imagine you could have explored greatfish isle at like the start of the story (since it's pretty close to the forsaken fortress the king of red lions could have brought you there instead of windfall) and later on you return to see that it's completely destroyed
So, does anyone know why the Goron travellers hide their faces? Whenever you blow their hat's off, they will grab for it and put it back on. Why are they in hiding, and why do we only see 3 Gorons?
Elite gamer You can blow their hats off? Missed that. lol
Wait what?
@@That_Guy- In Wind Waker, there are 3 Goron merchants. One of them is on Greatfish Isle. They are a part of a trading quest which gets you the Magic Armor. They wear hats over their faces, like a hood, and when you blow wind at them with the Deku leaf, the hat will fly off, revealed their face. It's only for a second as they will grab it back.
I think it was definitely lightning! That's a good connection. Ganondorf must have not been able use his electric powers to the same extent & was saving it for a rainy day, so he used it on the island that made the most sense, Greatfish, with the aquatic spirit
It’s been stated that wind waker was gonna have two more dungeons, but had to be cut due to time constraints. It’s pretty obvious one of them would have been at greatsfish isle.
Realistically, would the hero of time even have lived long enough to see Ganon defeated again had he stayed in that timeline? I feel like it would take a long time for Ganon to break out of that last seal. Regardless, very interesting video!
Or, the more likely theory:
Devs were getting too close to the release date without completing the Water Temple, and were forced to scrap it at the last moment. Solution was to just give Link the pearl in a roundabout but easy to design/program way and just add some busted island assets in the middle of the ocean.
What if the Zora do exist in Wind Waker alongside the Rito similarly to in Breath of the Wild, but they were scared to the depths by Ganon's attacks on Greatfish Isle. They're some of the races that would most easily be able to hide from Link in the Great Sea which would explain why we never see them besides a spirit.
I Wish with all my Heart that we got a less rushed WindWaker with All of ita dungeons,,, and an unnerfed .357 snakeshot on Cod
Christopher Mesic Yeah... same goes for Majora's Mask.
@@neonmajora8454 Nah, it shouldn't have existed in general!😉😘
@@nathandioza7821 What?
Props to whoever built that house that has survived better than the island itself.
One thing that I think was cut, looking at the cutting room floor, is a section where Jabun helps you travel through fog (A cut scene element with ambient light and fog being cut). Perhaps originally he was going to guide you somewhere? Thus the light on his head being more functional than just a random design choice. Perhaps Jabun's role in Great Fish Isle's lore was a great guide. One that helped travelers and traders when they were lost. Maybe there was going to be some Tetra's Mother lore here, give us even more development on Tetra's character before the twist coming up. Plus, I felt it would've given some much needed explanation on the Goron's new position in the world, especially if it turns out Jabun helped them in the new environment much like how Valoo helped the Rito and the Deku Tree helped the Koroks.
If Greatfish were destroyed by lightning, wouldn't it have all caught fire and not appear lush green?
I remember when I was younger I always hoped there would be a dungeon on that island.
Since when could lighting break ground
Magic from the ancient evil magic man
right? and since when Ganondorf is a electricity specialist? as far as lore goes, he is the Demon King with the triforce of power. Attaching him to electricity is at least belittling his power
There probably is some ability that negates the immunity
If poison has one, so could electric
Bernardo Puppin I mean, Ganon can use lightning in Link to the Past.
@@bpuppin dead man's volley and phantom ganon's attacks are electric based, and botw gerudo have a big focus on electricity, so you could argue that there is a bigger chance of ganondorf being proficient in electric magic than not
All that was left was some boats, ruins, a slab, and a octorok secret
Also, Ganon never does this again
That octorok secret spooked me the first time I saw it, but it raises the question of why is it there?
Gameplay wise it's to stop players from grabbing the triforce piece early, but lore wise, why would that be there and why does it take looking for hidden treasure early to discover it?
Thank you for doing windwaker videos it’s my favorite Zelda game!!!
0:30 Hidden Highland pmd2. Very nice music choice, one of my personal favourite songs from the ost
Yaaay! New NBC video on Wind Waker!!! (thank you so much)
Ganondorf: "I, who stand in the full light of the heavens, command thee, who opens the gates of hell. Come forth, divine lightning! This ends now! Indignation!!"
Ganondorf: "Darkness beyond twilight. Crimson beyond blood which flows. Buried in the stream of time, this is where your power grows. I pledge myself to conquer, all the goes who stand, against this mighty gift, bestowed in my unworthy hands. Let the fools who stand before me be destroyed by the powers you and I possess. Dragu Slave!!!!!"
Ahhh yes a ToS reference
i miss ToS
"The reason it should look familiar is because we've seen it before"
I mean, you're not wrong, but...
Interesting choice of words.
Great video! :)
Ganon did not have his powers back until link pulled the master sword after great fish isle was destroyed
Fantastic video 👏
Something you want to take into consideration is that the ghost ship chart shows the island destroyed kupo
Awesome video, as usual

Me:where are they?
YT:... Don't ask questions
Yeah yt be like that at times
A recent walkthrough?
Cool
UA-cam be like 🤫
Though the carving on the broken slab looked Zonai
It is said that you can still hear the Doriyah echoing in the wind near this island.
I think it was destroyed by Another dragon, because maybe Valoo and jabbun were chosen as guardians and the other dragon was left out
Very solid theory! This is an older one, and there’s not a real point in commenting. I’m not usually the type to nitpick but I thought I’d bring up how the divine beast Vah Naboris likely has an electricity theme because Urbosa has an electric type ability.
The living trees on the island are straight up, while the dead trees are up relative to the flipped ground.
You could roughly date how long ago the island was destroyed by how long it takes for the trees to grow.
Good vid👍
another solid video
Yes another zelda theory! Thanks nbc
I remember when I was a kid, the first thing I did after getting an action replay was visit the island to see if it was possible to see it before destruction
You know I like it whenever there’s a new Wind Waker theory. 🥴
I love the Pokemon mystery dungeon music. That was one of my favorite games.
I think the storm and Greatfish Isle's destruction are two separate, but connected matters *because* of the KoRL's dialogue about monsters destroying the place. Monsters destroyed it, as we see that monsters have canons to blow apart the wall too, **and** Ganon cursed the ocean to prevent Link from getting the Pearl.
Something you mentioned actually brought to my attention and idea. You said that the island is like that when you start the game however if someone had the correct software couldn't they rearrange the pieces and try to make it look like it was an island before? I get that some of the pieces are under the sea and it would be hard to do however I think that possibly someone with the right software might be able to recreate what it could have looked like hypothetically. Again, this is just an idea I had because of something you said so I don't know if it's possible but I'm sure that of course it's an idea that someone might be able to actually use to figure it out. I always love your videos and I know it's a bit late me watching this since it came out quite a while ago and I'm just now trying to watch this playlist but I figured I'd give you my idea
aren't those same purple/blue boats found on the island, Link's Oasis?
Yay Zelda video!!
I thought you were going to mention Shadow Ganon since he is the only one that attacks with Balls of Electrical magic he could have thrown a Big one and Break the island the King also Mentions The Shadow of Forsaken Fortress.
things I wish were in this game:
- a handful of larger islands…
- less of those tiny, boring, only-one-visit-necessary islands
-a circular, rather than square world map
-more Hyrule below the Sea sections… perhaps a small section associated with every late-game dungeon?
- a third early-game dungeon, where some bad guy pirates had stolen the Pearl, and the whole dungeon is on a pirate ship.
- a water-themed dungeon, associated with an underwater Goron civilization… in _Twilight Princess_ we see that Gorons can survive underwater without breathing, so why not?!
- a third and fourth late-game dungeon, perhaps like “Temple of Waves,” of “Temple of Sun & Stars…” but whatever they are, I want to team-up with Tingle for one of them!
2:09 you can see Outset at the horizon. So damn it's pretty close for Jabun to escape.
I always thought it was one of those giant octopus that did it.
As a kid I couldn't figure out the password for the pirate boat so I spend more time than I'd like to admit just flying around Greatfish with a seagul exploring.
Was that slone slab in Greatfish Island there in the original Came Cube verions of The Wind Waker? I never even thought of it being similar with the stone slab on Outset Island.
3:37 THAT POT JUST DISAPPEARED :O!
Zeltik And Nintendo Black crisis the best Zelda theory channels
I wanna b able to listen to that outro on Spotify and stuff, I really like that song
I love how you used Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Music ❤️
Lol when NBC said the thing about the curse of endless rain, and he mentioned the lightning bolt, my initial thoughts were “What if that’s because Link played the Song of Storms back in OoT?” 😂

SoldToGaming UA-cam is drunk again
Legally: No I am not drunk.
Ilegally: .....
I remember taking seagulls around this island for hours trying to find... something... ANYTHING...
NBC, you've got to do a few theory videos on the Minish Cap. The deeper you get into the story, the more confusing the lore gets compared to Skyward Sword. Also, I'd like to know if there actually is a connection between the Kokori, Picori and/or Kikwi. (Remember the one Kikwi taken to Skyloft before you answer that lol)
Can you please do a video of where rupees come from? Nearly every monster carries them, you can find them in grass. With how easy it is to find them why are the worth anything? It would be really cool to get a deeper look into this.
wow since ive still not managed to finish WW (shame on me and linear time) i havent had the chance yet to notice how massive greatfish isle even was .. thats a LOT of land area sticking out of the ocean ;o;
id love to have seen it before it got destroyed ,,
actually wind waker has more dungeons then majora's mask and botw
Botw arent dungeons they're trash next to these masterpieces.
criticalhard well if you count the "trash" shrines then BOTW has far more than both of them combined
BOTW is different form the others, it doesn't really specialize in dungeons at all
Baran Orak shrines do not count
Is there any sort of way the island formation could be pushed up from underneath? That was my first thought when I saw how crooked everything was and how some parts seemed to be sunken in.
I love variety content.
God damn it youtube I have the notification bell on you had one job
you know what's funny is that when you're showing us one of the pictures of the cloud I saw a cyclone when you were talking about the lightning what about the cyclone don't leave him out
The first Zelda game I played was Wind Waker, when I got to Jabun he gives you the pearl, at the time I didn't think anything of it. Now I wish that you had to restore Greatfish, or prove your worth to Jabun via a dungeon, perhaps in his mouth. ;)
I believe that Jabun was supposed to give you a quest before giving you the pearl, but was scrapped due to time constraints
Idea for the future, Reconstruct greatfish isle. With the pieces that are there.
I think the biggest mystery about Greatfish Isle is: What was it BEFORE the flood? Comparing the maps between OoT and WW, both have: Hyrule Castle in the center, Death Mountain to the NE and the Deku tree to the SE, Forsaken Fortress could even be considered the same Gerudo Fortress in the NW, but what was Greatfish Isle? There’s no elevated locations in SW Hyrule that it could’ve come from - unless you were meant to take another ‘elevator’ underwater to visit what would have been the Water Temple of OoT? We could argue Kakariko Village became Windfall Island, but Outset Island doesn’t match up with anything major either...
Nintendo loves placing unanswerable things in their games just to get us imagining and questioning. They probably don't even think through everything they do.
2:21 It is revealed to be BS because Ganondorf himself later admits that the Master Sword sealed away his magical powers meaning that he shouldn't have been to destroy Greatfish recently like he did. It is one of Wind Waker's greatest plot holes with the other being that there is no entrance to the Earth and Wind Temples in Hyrule despite the King of Red Lions saying there is and that it is sealed by magic. When you explore the Temples there is nowhere to enter Hyrule from there.
Gamer1288 -would be cool to actually have to go thru a portal to underwater Hyrule to retrieve the item for that dungeon
Hey man! I have to ask - which track from pokemon mystery dungeon is the first one you used in this? I can’t put my finger on it and it’s driving me nuts! Love your videos by the way!
I have a bit of a theory that have probably already been thought of. My theory is that the 2 missing dungeons were a great fish isle dungeon and another elemental temple my prove is that it felt a bit strange there was only 2 sages and it would make sense if thwre was meant to be 3 sages like the pearls and the triforce.
Can you buy a pear at outset and send a seagull over to greatfish isle to see what it use to look like?
Here are Top 5 reasons why Zelda - Wind Waker would make more sense as a Wii launch title:
• Nintendo fans (as well as Miyamoto) were actually not yet ready nor motivated for a Toon Link to appear on the GameCube.
• Zelda as seen in a Spaceworld 2000 demo needed to be the next sequel for GameCube.
• By the time the Wii comes out, Zelda - Wind Waker would actually have all the given time to be 100% complete with the scrapped dungeons and all being in the game.
• The Wii is powerful enough to graphically implement transparent bodies of water for Link to swim and dive in.
• The Wii is more fitting because the Wii remote would be for players to motion Link's wind baton, and to steer the sailboat.
I feel like Ganondorf wanted to destroy that island to destroy the Zora bc he feared their prowess in swimming and power in water, and that they could have been a threat. The whole world is literally a big ocean so that makes sense
1:02 If the hero going back to his own timeline, means that everything he did didnt happen, then what's the point?
I have a question about Hestu-Link's supposed to be the only one who can see him right, but an npc talks about a "freaky tree ghost" shortly before you meet him for the first time.
What if it was hit by a lightning strike but wasn't completely destroyed at first but with time the ground began to cave in because of the endless storm's flods?
When I played this game for the first time I imagined Ganon just having a temper tantrum when he learns that the fish is gone. the whole deal, stomping, throwing himself to the ground; prime three-year-old behavior.
Curses seem to have a lot of power in the zelda series. It was a curse that destroyed the great deku tree.
As a kid I always assumed he cut the island up with his swords lmao
I would LOVE a Wind Waker Remake that puts all the cut contect back into the game. And the original Wind Waker could then be seen as nothing but a fractured myth, of the Story.
Thank you
Now that you mention the connection to Gerudo magic and lightning, perhaps Gerudo magic users specialize in harnessing and utilizing static electricity because they live in such a dry, sandblasted climate? Ganondorf especially seems to be proficient in creating ball lightning
North of Goronbi Lake in death mountain, there are a bunch of rusty swords stuck into the ground. Any ideas on why that’s there.
Rito: Bye guys I'm heading home
Gannon:Let me introduce my self 🌩🌩🌩
I wander if Greatfish Isle was the home of the zoneie traebe, there is a lot of there sins in this game like the one on the broken stone in the island and the big wall that you have to brake wish nintendo black crisis talked about in the video and in an older video it appeared on the old man's stick and in this video too on the 3:12 seconds it appears on the stashes in dragon roost. (note I haven't played wind waker and my English is not very good so I am not sure if I have sapling mistakes)
That lightning would have had to be pretty hot to be able to do anything to rock, let alone an entire island
Maybe Ganon used his magic to summon Puppet Ganon, or maybe he turned into his beast form as shown in the prelude of the game
