I absolutely love this track. It is the perfect mixture of relaxing and enigmatic - makes you feel like you can rest there, but not fully let your guard down. There is an odd uneasiness and even silent terror notable in the composition that I can't quite explain... Like a calm before a storm. And it is very fitting for the "Broken Circle" quest. Genius piece.
Exactly. The soft bells and uhh "whooshy" (?) Sound make you quite uncertain whether its the wind, or some magical horror in the mist-covered tower looming ahead.
@@destructiveraider Well you did say it better in the comment above. Also, it's great visual design with the darkness of the night and the moon behind the tower giving it a dark menacing figure
To my perception, this track is absolutely Lovecraftian. It is literally the spirit of Lovecraft books in music. Dreamlike, surreal, cosy and yet lowkey frightening. One can easily imagine some backwaters of the world, some godforgotten lighthouse or docks hiding some dark truths and legends to this music.
That's a great track, relaxing, yet I get chills in my spine knowing I'm being so close to the Ferelden circle. Who knows what's happening in there O.O
The sound of a place where you can just rest and let your head hang down for a good nap. Too bad about the tower full of demons over there, but c’est le vie, what can you do?
For some reason I can't shake off the feeling that I've heard this with certain instruments much more pronounced. Though to be fair, I felt that way with some other DA:O tracks as well, so maybe it's just that they got "enhanced" in my memory during gameplay. But I wonder if there's some other version of this that exists, perhaps in DA2 (I'm aware that this exact version plays on the Wounded Cost, but that isn't it either)
'if you squint lake calenhad looks like a bunny'
-Cullen, 30 yrs grown man, who was tortured here
well, his way of getting over it i guess
@@lennynull-funf-zehn5416 hahaha yes. He's lovely
Sounds like something Cole would say. He's the only dude I wanted to date in DAI and they cut the fact Cullen was bi. Ticked me off.
@@SamK1281 cope. cullen wasnt bi, he was normal and had a crush only with female mage.
Lol let him cope

Never noticed this track until walking along the Wounded Coast in the 2nd game.
Same here 😂
Same here! 😂
same. just finished playing da2 again and thats one of my fave tracks. came back to dao. pleasant surprise
Magical is the only way you can describe this music
And dangerous, I wouldn't be close to "Circle of Magi". I've read enough texts to know that's not a good idea.
Lovecraftian
Even today this is still a great game. It's aged well I think
a great narrative for sure, but the gameplay... oh my! I've never enjoy it
currently replaying for the millionth time after years of not playing it. I’m loving ittttt
More Music and Ambience for this magnificent game please.

i suspect you didn't start as a mage...
Back here after completing The Veilguard, which took lore where I didn’t want it to. Ah, simple times by the Lake Calenhad…
absolute masterpiece of ambience in gaming.

There really is a kind of mystery and magic in this track, amazing!
This track is really amazing and truly has mysterious vibes.!Sadly this place is kind of underrated though...
this place is the most magical, mysterious and atmospheric for me throughout the game✨️
2:10 That violin section is just magical, had me entranced the first time I heard it.
The wounded coast as the same soundtrack
Someone still posting about dragon age origins in 2021, hmm nostalgia
I listen to this so often. The only thing I was excited about with Starfield is that Inon Zur did the music.

Nostálgico esse lugar. O lago que dá acesso ao círculo dos magos.
Pools by glass animals reminds me of this song a bit
Dragon Age Origins was such an amazing game. I don’t like the newer anime vibe I get from it now
The second one had that similar feel. It was good. Inquisition was where it lost itself.
I wish this was on Spotify
okay, i need to buy this game.
I love this song 😍
a masterpiece❤
Brilliant
Reminds me of Medievil for the PS1.
So lovecraftian!
Something kinda Spore about this sound
