I have never in my 50 years seen a jack used in that position. Since the 80s scissor jacks were supplied with handles that would prevent them being used like that. I have never seen one collapse or tilt.
@@LudicrousFeed all good, I thought this may have been byds preferred method! We can expect to see more of this now that cars are supplied without manuals and spare wheels 😂
Looks great Tom. Would look much better driving along side on the freeway as you would see them better, however they still look fine standing still.. 😎
They look pretty nice Tom! Great demonstration. I have to say I admire the clean garage floor too. I have exactly the same epoxy flooring in my garage, with the same coloured flake you have but my cars leave dirty stains where the wheels usually sit. I haven't tried too hard to clean them yet, but I dare say it will take a lot of scrubbing.
When I was 17 hubcaps were so uncool and now I have a Tesla with hubcaps. I think the same at 50 about caliper covers so maybe when I’m 90 I might fit some 😂😂
Looking at the tire info, BYD could have gone with some wider tires, 245/40 19 would be a better setup and these should go on the Premium. A 20" wheel/tires setup would be a better option on the Performance version. That would probably drop the range a bit but, this setup looks a bit underwhelming to me.
Awesome video mate (as always). Now you make me want them too! But are the stickers durable and ultra industrial grade 😂? Or will they peel off after a few days of rain/storm/carwash? Cheers
Nice. You do a good one-handed cameraman job. Very tricky to do. The Calipers look good. I'm not sure what might look best on my black Seal. Maybe red?
Look great, but think I would use some loctite for the retaining screws maybe , or do they advise differently 🤔 Can't beat the price of them either when compared to having the actual calipers done; plus if you change your mind on the colour, you can simply remove them and spray them anyway 👏
This is a question that requires a lot of consideration … I suggest starting with this video: 2024 Tesla Model 3 RWD Highland Update vs BYD Seal Premium Australia ua-cam.com/video/YAaKVAST3w4/v-deo.html Keeping in mind the Seal has undergone several software updates to correct the initial ADAS issues, enable wireless CarPlay, easier access to climate control settings and more recently allowed digital key to unlock/drive
Ive never seen a scissor jack used length wise like that, only sideways so the jacking nut sticks out beyond the side of the car. Is that the way you have always done it? Thanks for the link to the spare tyre kit too 👍
@acfiander Ok I see what you’re saying … I should’ve positioned it perpendicular to the car. Not sure why I did it this way for this video because I’ve positioned it perpendicular in past videos! Eg. Braumach Spare Wheel and Tyre for BYD Atto 3 | Testing & Demonstration ua-cam.com/video/RW8X2kfekhM/v-deo.html I’m trying to search and work out in my mind if it’s significantly riskier placing the Jack lengthwise … nevertheless I have placed a note in the video description and pinned comment on conventional usage of a jack. Thanks for pointing this out 👍
Hi nice job. By the way my covers came with wheel spacers for the front wheels. did yours have spacers? Is the clearance of the wheel normal and safe ? I bought them from top BYD
I think u mentioned the lugs on the seal are M12 n teslas M14. I had just fitted lug nuts on my Seal and they are M14. I am located in SG though. Did u had a chance at measuring the lugs when u mentioned they are M12?
I admit I was using info from my spare tyre supplier (details in vid description). I will be doing a follow up vid with said spare tyre so I’ll measure it. I’ll also try to verify from other sources eg local tyre shops to see what torque they use when fitting the Seal. It boils down to the frustration that BYD do not provide their numbers for lug nut tensioning in their manual!
Definately not for me Tom, abit “RICE” imo. I’d also be worried about the heat dissipation of this. Would rather do it properly and get the calipers painted and then put a BYD sticker on it. Each to their own i guess.
Already they mentioned in their website `Built from 6061 T6 aluminum alloy, it is sturdy and will not affect the heat dissipation of the brake caliper.
@@vaishakcmattayil your still placing another material over a brake caliper blocking direct airflow and somewhat insulating heat. It just not something I would ever run on a critical safety component of a car. As i said each to their own, it’s theirs to customise as they see fit.
@@Dave-gg6vl Your points are valid, but I think if anyone is driving that hard on standard roads, that heat dissipation and potential brake fade are a genuine concern, they should grow up and slow down. If you're having fun at a track day that's something else, but this isn't a track day car (IMO) so no concern for me.

Early days yet but they’ve survived so far with rain and mud 😁
Can you provide us with an update having these installed for sometime now ? Are they durable ? Any issues noticed etc. 🙏🏻
So far so good 🙏

Yeah for extra security you could add the adhesive
I put blue loctite on my installation but the locking washer is more than enough. I talked with the vendor of mine.

Will this product fit in BYD Sealion 6?
Thanks

Hey Tom do you know the dimensions on the lug nut cap?
About 23-25mm across each cap (depending whether you measure from opposite sides or angles)
