I don’t know names of parts. I have a 3 tier food server with wooden dowels in between the layers. The top is wobbly and isn’t screwing into the tier below dowel and the center rod screw is stripped. The rod screw is hollow through the center. Could you tell me what the proper name is for the rod screw is so I can buy it?
My dowel is the width of the one in the video and the length of a pencil.
Any help is appreciated as I am trying to fix it to display cupcakes on for my daughter’s upcoming baby shower.
Thank you for tips and advice.
Sure, use a drill press. I must do it by hand or not at all.
Very good tip. I would recommend checking out the Grr-Ripper for safe table saw cuts with small workpieces
I'll definitely look into that, thanks for the tip.
Yeah, Thought I saw that wood move when close to the blade......Nearly had a heart attack....
That was slick.
Hope you find it useful someday.
Fantastic tip! Just by $2,000 in tools and problem solved!
You don’t have to use the tools I have to accomplish the same thing.
Nice! Thanks for the video. I have seen others do it without the slot, but that makes all the difference.
I appreciate you taking the time to watch.
when you clamp it, I can see the dow move to one side more than the other (because of only one screw being used there at the clamp area). Would not using any screws there potentially help keep the clamping forces even and the dow more centered?
Bro you deserve more subscribers
For sure!
I appreciate that, thanks. I’ll get there one day.
That is VERY clever. I want to end-to-end connect two 8-foot wooden curtain rods (1.25" dia). Now I know how.
Nice jig thank you. I have just watched your video on the PockeTweez Tweeztoo. Any idea if they are available any more?
Thank you for this great DIY project. Just what I needed.
I love it. Thank you.
Brilliant!
Outstanding! I will definitely make this. Thank you for sharing this.
Very nice! Did you do this in your new shop?
Yes sir. That is part of the reason I wanted to get this shop built, to do more videos like this. Once we get the electrical installed I will be doing a lot of welding project videos. Right now I just have extension cords running in. I want to get all of my equipment set in place before I run the electrical.
@@txtoolcrib Nice! I imagine that your equipment set-up will also take into account space for your camera shots...
Yeah, I’ll probably stage out some mounts. Takes about twice as long when you are setting up the camera. It’s a great way to pass on knowledge to the younger generation though. I wish UA-cam had been around when I was coming of age.
@@txtoolcrib I think that is an excellent idea - you have always demonstrated characteristics of a good teacher through your knowledge and enthusiasm and ability to communicate concerning whatever topic you are presenting - you converse with your audience as opposed to just talking at them...I think that as a teacher you would be a great role-model to young people in general and to future millwrights in particular because of your knowledge, skills, experience and work ethic and pride in a job well-done - something that is being lost in this day and age....my complements...
Genius it is so simple. Will use this trick for sure.
Thats even simpler than I expected.
Monster clamp
Seems really easy! Thanks!
Well, yeah
It’s simple for you . But I don’t have a sliding Mitre saw or a table saw like yours , or wood of that quality !
I could do it with one tool
A lathe
Absolutely, but how many people have a lathe sitting in their shop or garage?
This is about showing you a different way to do things. Not about the only way to do it. I have a lot of respect for a craftsman who’s sharing knowledge with everyone. Most parts can be done many different ways depending on what tools you have available
it's a hack bro, I'll never have enough use for a lathe....but I have a drill press.
Good job, Captain Obvious
Christmas is coming, could you give me a lathe from Santa?
