    Yes Sunline Sniper is the best all around Fluorocarbon line! My only Fluoro. I am always throwing in rough situations so it fits me. The rest of Sunline product are great as well!

    Call me crazy but I put braid on all my reels. Lasts forever and if I need a leader I tie one on. Saves money and you just can't beat the sensitivity and castability using braid. imo.

    Awesome video. I have always wondered what all these lines were used for. I've been a sufix guy for a long time now and it's never let me down but I have been curious how these all perform or hold up against sufix. Great job lil J🤜🤛💪👍

    Mr. John, Would you do a in-depth video on Swim Jigs? As far as rods (action, length, power, etc), type of line and pound test, swim jigs - weights, colors, trailers etc., when, where, how to work them etc. Thank you!

    From my experience, using the least amount of tested lb and thinest lines usually gets better results. This is from using every range of line I have. Pan fish, I use 4lb braid. Bass 6-10 lb mono or fluro, anything heavy I use 30+ braid with same diameter fluro leader

    Enjoy the videos. I would like to know you know how much backing line vs. main line to put on. Only way I can think of it would be to spool completely up with backing then cast it as far as you can cut the backing then tie the good stuff on. I never seem to get it right...I use too much of expensive main line. HELP
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Bank fishing for bass in neighborhood ponds with heavy milfoil and Coontail. Thick patches of cat’s tail along some banks. Which pound test of sniper would you recommend for flukes/paddle tails, chatterbaits, spinner baits, swim jigs, etc. I have a SLX DC XG (8.2:1) G Loomis E6X 843C MBR (7’ MH F)

    Drop shoting smallies in summer Great Lakes. Braid to fluorocarbon. Recommendations? I just feel they see but with the waves you need a 3/8 to get down and seems to break off weight so easy with 5-7 lb line. Hate to bring line diameters into this.....I’ve seen one company’s 6lb be same diameter as another’s 10lb. I’d love to see a video on what you look for to find deep smallmouth seems to be a foreign subject.

    If you couldn't afford to replace line often because you have so many reels which do you think would keep its strength and manageability the longest between floro and mono if they were stored out of the sun as much as possible?

    • @JohnCrews

      Fluoro. Keep guides clean and that helps a ton

      @@JohnCrews my experience with the older floros is they would stretch out over time and become brittle and break. The mono seems to keep its elasticity longer in my experience. Seems that the floro gets stretched and doesn't return back as close to its original length as mono does. I know floro takes more time to degrade with just environmental factors like sunlight and water degradation. I dont know how much better its gotten over the years but I swore it off after getting broke off too many times. I know you can lose big expensive swimbaits if it backlashes with floro. The mono has less tendency to break off in mid air.

  • @Eyesofthasouth

    I have a question John. A couple years ago i tried to switch to flouro. After spoiling up, I went out in the yard to test cast and that stuff would overrun every cast. I am very proficient with a baitcaster, know how to dial them in and cast even weightless lures with them. But I could cast flouro to save my life! I was using seagar red label in 15 pound. Is there a learning curve on this? Is the quality of line? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    A question for you on the sunline xplasma, does it seem to act up like most braid and lock up and jerk or break off? I have been shopping for braid thatll lay well and cast without that infamous lock up. Let me know how you rate it. I do the braid and mono leader setup and have been looking for new braid.

    • @gaterb11
      @gaterb11 4 роки тому +1

      Im a braid to leader guy as well, here’s a couple things that have helped me with those issues: Add a couple layers of monofilament as backing before spooling on your braid (if you don’t already). Also make sure you have tension on the line when spooling up a reel. Lastly, I’ve found pulling out a few lengths of line after catching a fish or freeing a snag helps free up any braid that dug in and prevents backlash on the following cast(s). Hope that helps!

    • @Hmoob828
      @Hmoob828 4 роки тому

      @@gaterb11 oh man i do the same too brother. And this is for my casting reels. It happens not because of the line digging in but how it lays. When walking the dog at times the braid will not lay tight and upon the next cast that region of semi slacked line will be your problem area and cause the lock up coming off the reel. Very annoying.

    I just bought a baitcasting 6 ft 10 medium power fast action rod for mostly fishing with jerkbaits and sometimes small squarebills and 3/8oz smaller spinner baits. I have some buddies who swear by braid to a leader for there jerkbait setups and some buddies who like 10 pound fc sniper. What do you think? What will cast longer or would it be close?
