The fact that Jean is leading the scouts in that odm scene is a follow up of Marco’s words that Jean is a great leader on top of that Keith is now no longer a bystander now that he’s fighting with the scouts, he is becoming someone who is truely special.
He's the true leader, not the peace boy armin
@@nathanielb2211 Close your mouth.
The biggest underdog in the series. Every main character has a titan ability or is a Ackerman. Besides being a subject of ymir he is just human which makes him even more special.
@@Wills_instapage laughs in hange, erwin, gabi, floch, sasha, yelena.
@@Faynwulf Those who speak the truth are the most hated. Jean *IS* a better commander than Armin. Blonde is smart, but his decisiveness and quick thinking during crisis situations is much below "Horseface". ;)
Keith got his moment saving the recruits after they told him learning how to kill titans was pointless now. Love how EVERY character gets their own development even if small.
And the guy he saved was one of the ones who beat him to a pulp.
I love how the recruits now have no idea what to do and Keith just shows up like: "told ya"
Well wait to his last bad ass moment in the coming episode😒😒😒,thats all i could say to the former commander of scouts☹️☹️☹️
@@maxmahusayjr7258 Is in the next episode already?
@@benjamin_fwn Not for a while, no.
Fun fact: the scene when the scouts let the titans gather around them to then shoot them with thunder spears is a direct parallel to season 1 when the guys of the 104th let titans gather around them so that they would be killed by Mikasa and others to strike their napes. This is supported by the fact that Jean screams "FIRE!" when they came close enough just like Marco did in season 1
Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that
Yupp! When i saw that I was like, " I feel like I've seen this before".
Seriously, how many parallels does this season have? I already stopped counting them.
Not only that but when Keith was leading the recruits back to the fort that was a parallel to when Jean led the other recruits back in Trost.
I noticed this parallel as well.. beautiful and kinda hurting parallel since Marco would maybe lead this again
Other reactors: Oh my god, Annie came back!!!
Aj Rich: Oh my god, they played Barricades!!!
This is why I love this guy's reactions.
I don't even know what to say, the scouts 2d animation looked clean right there, nostalgic ost and all. Awesome..nostalgia right there
yeah that AND the fact that they still have the OG uniform on and the blades. These final episodes have been season 1 nostalgic I love it
i really bet they hired animator who worked back in S1 but idk
@@IO279K4RMNs1,s2,s3 awesome odm scenes were by Arifumi Imai if you don't know.. He's works for Wit Studio and I think he's busy with their current movie "Bubble" and Vinland Saga.

Floch is allied with Eren, Yelena was allied with Zeke. They were allied out of necessity, now that there's no reason for them to co-exist Floch can't trust Yelena and her volunteers. They are outsiders after all, no place for them in the New Eldian Empire.
Gotcha. I wad wondering about this for awhile
Floch will get his final moment in the coming episodes😂😂😂,oppps sorry spoiler ahead😒😒😒
Yeah and he his arresting them because they wanted to euthanized eldia ... So its a crime also
Floch is many things, but a coward he never was.

It's been soooo long since we had some SERIOUS ODM action. Nothing beats it - it's like having a thousand spider-men just blasting around with missiles and swords.
When people said way back in episode 6 season 4 part 1 and people bullying staff for cgi scouts and now we have insane sakuga odm gear scenes and i knew it, Mappa did it!!👐 I bet haters will be quiet now and sucks i try ro search in Sakugabooru which animators animated these odm gear its unknown currently
But at least we know who animated eren founder transformation it was Hiroshi Arisawa
@@gensischosen251 The layout animators have already posted their work in twitter. You can check AoT wiki
MAPPA knocked it out of the park again. The animation has been so clean and smooth. ODM scenes, though a small part of the show, give you that adrenalin rush when animated correctly
Gabi and Reiner's development has been the best thing of this final season for me
Same! Always loved Reiner, but man, Gabi has recieved some real hate!! Always felt like her character made sense consider how/ where she grew up, but I looove seeing how she has changed in this season!
Reiner just knew Eren well enough to guess exactly what he wanted to do.
Yup they are two side of the same coin.
Cause i think reiner want that too but he chose other path
Reiner been saying that since season 2
Hot Titan: Can order Pure Titans
Suicidal Titan: Can literally move his consciousness throughout his body
Big Boi Titan: Makes a big BOOM when transforming
Monke: Really Good At Throwing
Ugly Titan: Can Stay Transformed For a Long Time
Gnom Gnom Titan: Really Strong Bite and Scratch, can even pierce hardening
Robot Titan: Pretty Obvious
Monke: *creates and commands titans
I thought that was Royal Blood
this episode made me think a lot about when Pyxis was quoting someone else's phrase on Episode 11 of season 1:
- "If a power external threat were to appear, humanity would cease its wars and unite.” What do you think of that?
Maybe we had some foreshadowing there and just didn't think much of it. But now it's clear that this is exactly what's going on here. Eren became the biggest threat, the most powerful enemy of all times, and we're starting to see Marley and Paradis working together to try and stop him.
Yep on reread I noticed it and it's amazing. What even more intersting though is that while Eren literally does that, he still answered Pixis back then that such plan would be naive and futile.
Basically Eren is Lelouch. eventually they become no. 1 public enemy to unite the whole world so they can live along together without hatred & war.
@@rafiandanawari7038 you'll see that that is false.
@@rafiandanawari7038 Eren and Lelouch is not the same. Methods? Sure but not the intent. Eren is serious on destroying the whole world for “freedom” for his people and especially himself while Lelouch wants peace and freedom for everyone and will sacrifice himself for that.
@@magilas8485 SPOILERS
Eren is fucked up bc of the Attack Titan power, him desiring to destroy the whole world may be strongly influenced by Ymir, plus the power of exploring past and future memories fucked up his sense of time and space, as a human being it was too much for him to handle. I think he didn't truly want to kill all innocent people, children who have nothing to do with the conflict and the hatred etc but he did it bc Ymir convinced him that there is no other option, that the future is all set in stone. Last pages of the manga suggest that the titan power may reappear in the world again, which will lead to another conflict with no doubt. This is something Eren didn't know about bc he couldn't. There is no Attack Titan coming after him. So he thought all of this, this whole genocide will make Paradis free but it's not true either bc Paradis lost later anyway. Eren was emotionally manipulated by Ymir just like Grisha was manipulated by Eren. And I know it wasn't said directly in the manga but this is what I get from Eren's last explanations. It was Ymir, the ultimate slave, who hated the whole world and wanted to destroy all enemies and finally become free. Eren was full of similar feelings and that's why he got easily influenced by Ymir. He said "you were waiting for me this whole time, 2000 years", so she waited specifically for him bc she knew he'll manage to fulfill her desires. Without her, he wouldn't be so determined to destroy all humanity behind walls, he would just listen to Armin. He was always, from the very beginning of his life, seeing his future self even If it seemed to him like just a dream, a hallucination or whatever. And future Eren was doing all of this bc of Ymir's will. So at the end, we don't even know how Eren would be really like bc he was always in some way affected by the titan power.
Reiner said in Season 2 episode 12 that Eren is the last person who should have that power. Because he knows what kind of person Eren is.
The sad thing is in S4 Part 1 Reiner himself already admitted he was just as f-ed as Eren was, he'd have done the same exact thing to Paradis if he did manage to capture the founder in like S2 or S3, especially since he has that split personality thing going on
Idk if you noticed but the Titan that attacked Connie and the others while they were discussing what to do with Falco, it's based on Bob Odenkirk aka Saul Goodman from Breaking Bad
Omg really?! That's hilarious
@@trickyagent127 You can look up the manga chapter, in there it's WAY more clear. Here you can notice it as it's running but it's not as evident cuz anime probably has to be more careful than the manga has to with copyright and things like that.
AOT final season, Better Call Saul final season... this year couldn't be better
That shot of sasha was soo good. Also, I didn't realize that titan she killed was nile :(
It's so ironic that she gets redemption by killing someone that she has 'saved' before and that he saved Falco for her......
yeah.. poor Nile..
I never hated Gabi. Quite the opposite. She's one of my favorite characters.
Same
Me too
Same here, Gabi's great.
agreed. she was a brainwashed child who was desperate for approval
Yeah, more like I wondered when and how she was going to get a reality check.
AoT does show alot of violence but it's good at showing how disgusting war is, it's not like straight up good vs bad guy like most shows were we cheer for the good guy in the death of the bad guy
It shows violence to make people disgust, about the horrors/reality of war
I remember a soldier saying those who wants war has never been in actual war or just sitting in their office commanding etc..
Well yeah nobody wants war and world peace sounds good but some countries just want war so what can we do 😓
dulce bellum inexpertis.
War is sweat for those who didn't experience it
@@subham.biswas There’s a reason why war happens. Usually it is about Money and also about wanting more power and control. Wars also have been triggered because of revenge for many reasons.
World peace is something almost impossible to achieve as long as the people in power are corrupted and having absolutely power can corrupt someone absolutely.
It takes a great leader to be put into that kind of position and unfortunately nobody is perfect enough for that.
Man that soundtrack and the ODM scenes were amazing this episode.
Yep
I thought by him saying all titans have special abilities what he meant was like how the armored titan has armor, the colossal titan is extra big, etc.
Eren's actions made enemies become allies.
Anyone wants to watch Pixis and Eren's talk back in season 1? 😏
The foreshadowing
Season 4 Part 2 is confirmed to be 12 episodes long. However, there’s still about 20 chapters that need to adapted as of this episode so the running theory/rumor is either there will be a short Part 3 (6 episodes or so) or a movie to wrap everything up.
The movie did not have time enough to wrap everything in 2 or 3 hour. Part 3 look more possible.
@@JaggerKnive of course a movie would be able to cover the final chapters, even if I don't know them. But I would highly doubt that 10 chapters or so would take more than 2 hours. Also, I can't see a Part 3 coming to be honest after everyone thought that Part 2 was the finale of Season 4. And If a mobile comes out, I reckon it would come out next year and mappa will have probably already worked on it and is at advanced stages
@@Anonymous-vl8ez there gonna be a part 4
@@Anonymous-vl8ez If they cover up to 131 like most people theorize it would leave 8 chapters left to go (which would normally be about 6 or so episodes, or in other words just over 2 hours of content). Definitely doable in movie format.
Sidenote: Just how unlucky is Sasha's family? They are literally in the middle of this entire madness , they have nothing to do with, except they were at the wrong place at the wrong time once. Now they were caught up in a coup d'etat, a war and almost got eaten by titans. I'm so glad Gabi saved them, because that family deserves some chill!
that is so true, all cause of Sasha's death and an invitation to a fancy restaurant
Glad Mappa seems to have learned a bit from pt 1. Cuz these ep's have just been really well animated
I agree
They didn't "learn". They're a good studio, as we can see in JJK. They just had more time to do this season.
@@spheromancer_ they are literally overworked and we have people complaining about the animation. Literally no one wanted to animate season 4 💀
Time is important. With part 1 they had less than half a year, with part 2 almost a year.
This was the highest VIBE episode of the first season (since before the start of the Female Titan arc) just when Annie finally returned.
The Soundtrack, action sequences, framing of scenes and tactics against the titans, were all used also in the battle of Trost of part 1 of the first season against also the dumb titans 🔥
About Floch - There were several factions - Volunteers, Marley, Eldia, Jagerists. The Jagerists were always against Yelene and her faction.
10:33 That moment is very sad, but I would have preferred Annie to kill him, just for the meme in Season 1 episode 10, after the Armin speech, Pyxis was looking the titans outside de wall and he said: "Still haven´t seen one... I wouldn´t mind being eaten, as long as it was by a scorchingly hot lady Titan." :')
He literally got killed by Armin, lol
Annie: *Wakes up and sees that the Rumbling is happening*
Also Annie: Maybe I should go back to sleep..
Side note, I love how Reiner just took a nap during the end of the world
She just took a nap during ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶e̶n̶d̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶w̶o̶r̶l̶d̶ almost the whole series.
@@atan8086 Side note, I love how "REINER" just took a nap during the end of the world.
Renier: sidenote just take Annie during the end of the world
Annie: "Hi guys, you look really old Reiner, what did I miss?"
Reiner: "Eren literally started the apocalypse."
Annie: "Goodbye then" *Freezes*
The armoured titan's special ability is it's armour.
well.. for someone holding a titan literally called the ARMORED Titan.. Reiner gets pretty much destroyed like every time..
Seeing as his armor basically amounts to nothing in the recent episodes where it just gets destroyed left and right, his plot armor is being more likely to be his actuall titan ability. And im being half serious about that statement
@@Mitsuki1607 Yeah it's pretty ironic how the one titan known for it's durability gets his ass beat 100% of the time.
Reiner know eren was gonna destroy the world because he knows how eren thinks. He been saying it since season 2 that eren shouldn’t have that power. Reiner knows eren is a maniac and he wants to kill all the titans, once he finds out there’s humans outside the walls Reiner knew
Floch has only been on Eren's side, so when Eren played his card and betrayed Zeke/Yelena, he would to - remember Floch is about restoration of the Eldian empire and being euthanized doesn't really help with that, in other words, he too, was playing along, and is now moving to take care of Non-Eldians on the Island for this "glorious restoration."
As for why Eren didn't do anything with the Pure Titans - at this point, as ever, he's looking and moving forward, not back. The mess he's leaving behind is, perhaps ironically given the reasoning for his actions, not a concern. At least, that's my take on it.
Probably he can't control zekès titans
Its 12 episodes yes, and there's a rumored potential movie
Eren's Favorite words are "Keep moving forward" its come from Reiner. He is the one who teach Eren to just keep moving forward. Reiner know Eren very well, and Eren show him enough determination to keep moving forward.
Thats why Reiner know this situation would come
the OG ODM is back guys, 2D titans and ofc "Barricades" soundtrack. This episode is lit🔥
I hated Gabi when they first introduce her in the manga, specially after killing Sasha, but now I kind of like her, mainly because they've made such a good job with her character in the anime and her growing arc has been great. Plus every important scene where's she's been has been perfectly adapted.
I jumped and started screaming when Barricades started playing... I've been waiting for this since the end of s2! My most favorite song in AoT. I listen to it almost everyday! I was wishing for this to play in the final season and they did!
Gabi has always been my favorite (since she showed up) and I always understood her , they did a fantastic job with her character arc. Great character.
As to your question about Reiner, I think it's revealed in the first or second episode of this latest season when he's fighting with Eren. What he says to him is mistranslated as "why did I ever think we were the same?" but it should have said "what about us is the same?" as if Reiner was never convinced that Eren's words to him in the basement of Liberio were true. Before the declaration of war, Eren told Reiner "we're probably the same, you and I. I think we were born this way." Now with the context of Eren's time loop stuff, it seems that part of Eren's character is that he's been fucked in the head since he was a little kid. He has severe psychopathic tendencies, and Reiner knew that from watching him while they were soldiers. For Reiner, the things he's done have haunted him so much that it's given him a personality disorder. He was always a normal kid that never got love from his father and was always inadequate in everything he tried to do. He's actually a good person who's been corrupted by circumstance. Eren, on the other hand, had a wonderfully normal childhood with two loving parents, and even during such a normal childhood, he still murdered 2 people and never felt a shred of emotion over it even years later. Even if he was justified in self defense, that kind of thing will affect you mentally, especially if you're a child. Then the way Eren looks at Reiner and Bertholdt in the treetops as he tells them he's going to work hard to torture them to death some day, it proved to Reiner that he was not dealing with someone who'd "only" seen his mom eaten in front of him and was a little angry about it. That's why when he realizes Eren had the coordinate, he said "the absolute worst person on the planet to hold that power is you, Eren." Reiner is extremely in touch with his own humanity, and the things he's had to do have deeply wounded his conscience, so he sees through Eren right away. He sees that something is fucking wrong with that kid, and he knows how dangerous he is because of it. Levi saw the same thing back in the forest of giant trees when he told the rest of his squad "this kid's a real monster, and not because of his titan ability." That's pretty rich coming from Levi who had spent most of his life before that point robbing and fighting people, so what claim on "humanity" does he have? Well somehow or another, Levi never let his circumstances corrupt his nature, and that's because somehow he actually HAD a good nature to begin with. He's another person who has to to struggle to maintain their own humanity when the world has been trying to take it away. Both Levi and Reiner are unlike Eren, who despite being given every chance to be a good person has chosen at every opportunity to throw it away for the sake of his own bloodlust.
That's why Reiner was so desperate to stop Eren and it's why he's so upset and convinced that no one can stop him now. Everyone may have a devil inside of them, but as far as many people can tell, Eren might just BE the devil himself.
Barriczdes was a song I NEVER thought I'd hear again in this show....What a pleasant surprise
This whole episode was a throwback to the first two seasons and that made me so nostalgic and emotional
This episode was so emotional and beautiful. Seeing Jean become the leader Marco said he would become was just so beautiful.
At this point in the series, Gabi is my favorite and I think the most well-written character in the show. The entire moral lesson of the story is embodied in Gabi's character journey.

Barricades has always been my favourite song in the AOT soundtrack. So happy it came back.
Popped off when the song started
THANK YOU for appreciating Barricades! It really brought me so much memories and tears
2:08 Reiner's special ability is Plot armor. Guy survives a lot of stuff if you think about what he's been through this entire series lmao
This is such a huge moment for Jean. The one leading the final attack against the Pure Titans on Paradis Island wasn't Pixis, wasn't Erwin, wasn't Hange, wasn't even Armin, it was him. Such a long way he's come from Season 1. And he even got the best possible OST to come with that badass battle. Damn, what an episode.
Since you love Barricades so much, after the series is done, listen to it again and examine the lyrics carefully.
That episode was insane. The good old squad vs some titans just like back in the old days

Armor titan doesnt have the ability to see the memory of their future inheritors like the attack titan, so reiner can't see what's gonna happen in the future. The reason why Reiner knows what Eren will do, is because he knows Eren well. As Eren said in seasons 2 and 4 when he met Reiner "I will continue to move forward, until I exterminate all my enemies". And when Eren tells all subject ymir in the path, I think it's very clear that Eren's purpose is to destroy the world so he can protect all the subject of ymir in Paradise
Nice to see someone who finally recognize Barricades
armin saying “rest in peace” after killing pyxis almost made me sob
Yes, there are other unique abilities that each titan shifters have. Armor for the armor titan, the giant body for the colossal titan, animal characteristics for beast, strong bite force for jaw, offensive hardening for Warhammer, high agility and speed for the female titan, and long periods of transformation for the cart titan. And not to mention the founding Titan, which can basically control every titans and eldians
When Barricades started playing... Man...
"They're completely surrounded!"
*Then it's a fair fight.*
There will be 12 episodes in this part of the season! There are rumors of a movie or a part 3 coming after this season ends, to end the story. So, the 12 episodes we get now likely won't cover the left-up material from the manga.
We’re in the good old days guys enjoy it. Aot is gonna end soon. I’m have a big hole in my heart when it’s over. Man so happy I’m alive right now.
Eren wanted us to hear the song , that's why he let the pure Titans loose

Armor - incredible strong armor
Female - hardening and scream that brings mindless titans to itself
Jaw - strong teeth and claws
Colossal - giant size
Beast - animal like powers
Cart - massive stamina and can stay in the form for days on end
War hammer - make constructs and weapons out of hardening
Scouts killing the titans was epic af, season 1 vibes
The titan that gabi kills to save that girl, was nile’s titan
If you recall pyxis told eren that humanity needed an enemy greater than himself to unite them. This is what I love about AOT. Small details like this that tie in its story so well
People unite only in the face of a common enemy, may it be a monster or any kind of disaster.... This is actually valid in real life too
To my knowledge there is no confirmed number of episodes left, though for all that have been announced, based on their names, they won't cover the ending of the manga.
From that there are 2 primary options:
-1. More episodes later as a part 3
-2. A movie
In my mind a movie is more likely but anything can happen.
"Reiner knows" I guess it's because he spent some time talking with Eren in Liberio and guessed what he's about to do 🤔
Also I think it's waaaay more than 12 episodes... Bc so much story left unspoken. Even for numbers of manga chapters
Part 2 is listed for 12 episodes tho we might get a shorter part 3 or a movie after that.
12 episodes, probably a movie for the finale
Reiners special power is his hardening around his skin
Reiner usually uses it to harden the nape of his neck and when titan Falco attacked him, he said "once I undo the hardending of m Neck"

The crazy thing about Gabi is that she is the Eren Yeager to Eren Yeager where Eren is to the Titans in general at first, and then the world. Gabi and Eren are the same yet opposites, and to have her have a whole, pretty fast in the scale of things and satisfying redemption arc makes me glad. (I am a manga reader, but the anime just takes it up a whole notch with AoT recently), but Gabi it’s sad what happened but from her perspective it makes perfect sense, brainwashed against her own race. People don’t hate Eren deep down even though he decided he would massacre billions; I don’t hate Gabi for killing Sasha, when for both of them it makes sense from their perspective.
RIP in pieces, Commander Pyxis. He was never able to fulfill his dream of being eaten by a giant titan babe.
This whole season gets crazier each episode in
This is where our hearts break 10:29-10:49 💔💔💔
because of the parallels Reiner is the one mostt likely to understand Ern's mentality, if you go back an rewatch the epidode os the attack on Marlwy, Eren spends an unnecesary amount of time trying to twll him something in code, it seems he's just starting to get the message. Also I forgot how long it takes to get to the ending, so whatever amount of content that are left after 12, is probably gonna be a movie
all 9 titans each have their own special abilities
All titans have a unique characteristic about themselves, some more obvious than others
i always see aj as Andy Bernard
I've actually liked Gabi from her first episode. To me, she's the Marlian side of Eren's coin, this highly driven pipsqueak no one expects to succeed that excels.
And she continues to be Gabi, Slayer of Important Characters.
Remember in season 1, pixys is the first person who have trust to eren and armin
10:34 pixis from the back looks kind of saitama😂😂😂
Reiner acting like that his just his character and growth. Like Griesha said, different titans have their own unique abilities. Armour titan for its armour, Jaw for his teeth and claws, Colossal for its nuke, etc, and Attack for its future memories. In grand scheme of things, thats literally just it.
Good job picking up on Reiner's attitude towards Eren. Do you remember during their conversation underneath the stage during the proclamation of war? Eren told Reiner that they were the same. Reiner was hardcore determined to destroy the world within the walls to 'save the world' and nothing, not even the realization that they were normal people just like him, was going to stop him from smashing down the gates and getting hundreds of thousands of people eaten by titans. Then Eren shows up and tells Reiner to his face that they're the same. Reiner knows exactly how dangerous and driven Eren is.
1:54 i mean, it had been reiterated many times in the past about the wall titans trampling the world if the world ever decides to destroy Paradis. Yes, there is the vow renouncing war but I think Reiner deep inside knew Eren's gonna do it considering what Reiner said in s2 that Eren is the last person who should yield the power of the coordinate. idk
