I'll be completely honest. I was not that excited for this episode. But wow... MAPPA made it better than the manga. The music, the composition, the odm animation. I feel the nostalgia. Absolutely brilliant!

The use of Barricades was incredible. Mappa took one of my favorite chapters and knocked it out of the park.
Why was it one of your favs ? I liked it but a lot of the fan base seemed to zone out for the next like 10 chapters at least….Mappa did this justice so much better than what I remember reading
@@jo0rd73 so many reasons really. Gabi saving Kaya and then Kaya AND Nicolo was such a beautiful moment that gets me emotional every time I read it. It's such a fantastic conclusion to all their character arcs.
I also loved Shadis no longer being a bystander and proving he is special. He's been one of my favorite characters ever since this chapter. The fact he saved Surma and the rest of the guys who attacked him was again brilliant writing.
We also get lots of little things I like such as Connie finally snapping, Gabi imitating Eren in the mirror, Jean being a leader, the end for Nile Pyxis and of course THAT ending with Annie coming back
In a way 124 is the perfect chapter to sum up AOT. You've got all the best elements of AOT in one chapter- the horror, the emotion, the action and the outstanding cliffhanger.
I wasn't ready to see Saul Goodman as a titan, I thought they would completely change it

Barricades is one of the best soundtracks in the entire series. They only played it in Season 2 afaik and it was so fucking fire. Got goosebumps when the song came up again

There is no best option but a real time option would be keeping the leverage of the titans, scare them to give some time by a deterrent sample and then move forward for diplomatic talks to settle this out. Which is what of course survey corps were trying in season 4 part 1. But still it would require lot more patience and upfront approach to make them understand the situation, most importantly be transparent with the fact that they meant no harm until provoked. The only secret they need to maintain is the location of foundation titan and its requirements.
Destroying major ports and military systems would be the first step, then militarise and educate your people,mainly research the source of titan powers and eliminate that source, that would automatically make the traces of ymir's DNA in her subjects dysfunctional.
Meanwhile educate others about lost history of innocence of past 100 years.
Ofcourse other side will eventually come back to fight and destroy but hopefully paradis can counterattack with same efficiency and profiency of weapon technology against them where titans become obsolete in war ground.
In our real world too, humanity is on thin line of destroying earth with regards to nukes. Nukes are something which is too detrimental that earth can never recover from it. Yet every big nation has dozens of it. Even if suddenly a big nation say I will not have nukes the nations would have it. So this nation will again come back to collecting and collect more instead.
All they did now is sign some treaties and called it a day, but at background every vigilant nation is still aggressively acquiring more resources for such technologies or even dangerous and put lot of money and resources in r and d of these.
Just one eren is enough to trigger this chain in real world. Luckily for most of world is seemingly democratic so one nation can't take decision based on one person's interest. But there are exceptions for these too now.
What Eren took is a selfish decision and literally the shortcut to his end goal objective irrespective of him winning it or not. Why bother what all I just explained where it's easy and efficient to clear the slate clean. Which even for eren would be something too extreme to believe and move forward. But if he just keeps his conscience behind and move forward then he would be atleast be content that he has done more than doing nothing to change the status quo. His biggest concern was always to die doing nothing, recall his cry in boat towards trost in season 1,then in Santa titan, season 2 before scream finale, before Crystaling in season 3 part 1. So one way or the other all that matters for eren is his participation in the story in what ever possible extent to favor the odds of not going too diplomatic, get compromised and finally get destroyed even before having any changes in paradis to come out alive and well.
Biggest solution for both real world and aot is globalize, remove borders, be transparent with each other short comings, destroy the source of titans ( which is very very primary goal ) and then assimilate eldians into widder Normal people's world. And yes some people should always be willing to sacrifice thier lifes until the cure for titan dna is discovered. Which will definitely happen because technology is a miracle that stops for no one. Just safeguarding titan powers up until the technology is caught up to meet the standards of curing this issue would suffice. The biggest "what if" in this process is the ideology of the future inheritors. If it didn't align with the above idea it will start again. Which is a very high preposition to take. May be a strong will for it to make inherited to follow it through would work. A Srong will Like what 145 king used but now it would be more optimal for everyone including eldians from both paradis and outside except the kids of royal blood as they need to sacrifice few generations till technology goes its job of finding cure.
A thought that struck me now: If all it took for eren is to give a pep talk to make her give her powers to eren for rumbling. Then if historia just gave birth to one kid and teach him all ethics and ways, make him a man of honor and wits then he could simply find some way or other to convince ymir to not work for him and her subjects through him anymore and rest in peace and end this powers once and for all.

Hi, I just saw that update video where your old channel got removed. I want to say this and I hope it is a lesson for you. I'm not saying it is good that all your hard work and effort is gone, but I also won't deny that it made me happy. I used to be an anime only since 2013, and several times, your thumbnails just spoiled things for me. I saw the rumbling panel way before "that day" and basically got spoiled on that, and lots of other things. I know manga readers want to enjoy content and I'm not against that. What I am against however is inconveniencing others for your own benefit. It came to bite you back in the end, which made me happy as it really made a show that I enjoyed less enjoyable. With that being said, I hope you all the best in your future.

Great episode. I can see why people love Barricades played in this episode. yes it brings back memories. but for me, nope. I'm just not satisfied with Barricades in this episode. why we got this upbeat song? they killed Nile and Pixis. they're killing the titans not for humanity just like back from season 1. back then, they thought they're killing titan, enemies of humanity. but now, they know they're killing fellow comrades. and Eren is destroying the world out there. they're not winning here. there's no glory. when reading chapter 124, I got this sad and mourn vibe. so it's a bit weird how they did this in anime. oh and for anime only watcher, don't read the manga starting from chapter 123. they changed the story telling a little bit.
