He was surely warming up his jaw for that super-long vocal he poured out later in the song. He looked like a snake unhinging his jaw when he was belting that out.

They thought they were going to be one-hit wonders as well because of this song, so for the longest time Thom refused to play it live, or only to play it at the end or during encours. Because he figured people would only come to see them perform it and after that they wouldn't really care.

I worked at a rock club in Gothenburg in the early 90's and Radiohead were out on a club tour, played at this specific club - which was the first time I heard of them. Man, they were amazing and this tune really stood out. Few weeks later it was all over MTV (back when….) and the rest is history.
I was speaking with my oldest daughter and she is a huge Radiohead fan. I was telling her about how he kept opening up his jaw at that concert. She said the lead singer has Bell’s palsy and he was working his jaw out because sometimes it would become stiff especially in the cold. So thought I would let you know that information she supplied. Love your show.
Everyone always wants to praise Thom, Johnny, Ed, and Colin; as well they should. But, Phil needs his own praise as well. He's a phenomenal drummer, who is greatly unappreciated.
What an amazing live vocal feat. This definitely goes down as one of my favorite live performances, despite the fact that I'm not a big fan of the band.
When I heard this song on the radio...and heard the pain in his voice......I fell in Love with Radiohead....we don't have many songs or groups that sound like this which takes me back to listening to Led Zeppelin or The Who. Love me some Radiohead!!!
Yes, as you just saw Thom Yorke is an amazing singer! And an equally amazing songwriter and not a bad guitarist. Please do more - they progressed in their songwriting and inventiveness so much from album to album that it would be a good idea to try to stick to the order in which they did the songs, so I would take a look at some of the songs from The Bends next. One thing I would recommend though outside of listening to their best songs, both live and from albums, at some point you should really take a look at their Grammy performance in 2009 of their song '15 Step' from In Rainbows. They did an arrangement that was extraordinary and put in a memorable performance. You'll LOVE it. You should listen to the studio version first to fully appreciate how creative an arrangement they did. Note: it's best to search for the video on Vimeo. Interesting trivia about Creep: I don't know if they did it knowingly, but they lifted the chord progression of the verse from a Hollies song straight up. I recognized it the first time I heard this song since that G | B | Bsus4 | B | C | Csus4 | C | Cm | progression is so distinct sounding. The Hollies song is The Air That I Breathe. It's good, too. Worth a listen. You'll hear the similarity. The guys from the Hollies are now listed as co-writers and got some of the royalties. Thanks! Peace from SF
That’s interesting. And so cool that they played fair with the Hollies and gave them credit and $ when it was realized without having to be sued in court for years. Thanks!!!
Radiohead's Daydreaming is an incredible song, written after the death of his partner of 23 years. The official video is subtle and poignant; I highly recommend it.

Would love to see Blur play Creep though
They cover Cake??
“You can’t deny the greatness of the song.” You speak the truth, Jamel. 💯♥️
Try Eva Cassidy, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" or "Stormy monday". These songs will blow your mind. One of the best vocalist of our time. Died too young.
Edgar Detriach oh yes! Her version of over the rainbow brings me to tears! I met her in Boston in 94. What a loss.
"No Surprises " is a fabulous song, melodic & dreamy...oh hell, its Radiohead
Jamel... Make a reaction about "Rammstein - Deutschland" it's a great song from the German band!
Who agree makes like👍
One of my favorite 90’s song!!! ❤️
This song is rather ironic for Thom now. He’s got a hot supermodel wife.
'Creep' is so beautiful that even my piano cover sounds great! 😉
Congrats for choosing it!! 👏👏👏👏👍👍
It looks like he's trying to pop his ears. Or he's tweaking on some crazy mdma....
