Well a LOT of these videos lately have been leaving out important details so the Vision Pro looks good.
Meanwhile, the dynamic range, contrast, etc make the Vision Pro a much WORSE headset for AR than the Quest since the "AR" doesn't feel like the real world at all in it due to how muted and blurry the passthrough is, especially compared to other headsets. He's only showing the one metric here that doesn't actually matter for AR applications but makes it SEEM impressive.
Yes the clarity is amazing but that's worthless when the lack of contrast and motion blur make it feel more like just a VR headset with digital elements pasted ontop of your view.

The pass through is really impressive on the quest 3, but it's impressive for making you feel like you're still in a room with other people and how surprisingly 'real' the windows look in the space - but I feel like the Apple is actually built for pass through being the main use case.

I tried doing that for a full day last week, (8 am-12 pm and 1pm-6pm) using meta workroom, on the software side I didn't have any big problem, it's cool to have 3 big monitors for my laptop, text isn't as sharp as on a good real monitor but it's still fine most of the time and the paththrough to see the keyboard in the VR environment works well.
On the confort side it's definitely not good enough yet, I was happy to take the headset off after 4 hours in at noon but it was very difficult to stay in after 4.5 hours at the end of the afternoon. And yes my eyes were a bit tired after that whole day but not that much more than on a regular monitor, the weight is far worse than the eye strain. (Edit : I'm using the bobovr M2 with the retrofit kit, not the default starp)
Tldr : it can be good for 2 or 3 hours at a time after that it becomes harder and harder to ignore the weight

Notice all the calims of amazing passthrough when for all other reviewers, they're admitting that it's muted, low-contrast, dark, and very blurry. Doing a video on comfort would also show how heavy and uncomfortable this thing is. They even went so far as to mis-represent the UI for competition like the Quest to make the VP look good.

My logic is that the depth sensor is adjusting to the nearest object.. In this case the hand, because there is only one this causes an irritation, you can also look at nearby objects and see how the depth sensor sharpens something like a 2d plane in front of your eyes, take a tin and hold it close to the headset.. I guess two depth sensors would create a 3d depth perception as the two cams create the sfereoscopic picture, if it had two depth sensors positioned under each cam it won't blur anymore is my guess @@dnpvisual
