I bought a pedal steel. No obvious demarcation on what brand it is so I’m thinking it could be homebuilt. I was unsure whether it was E9 or C6, so I tuned it to C6 because it seemed closer. I then realized I had bought a 12 string. Could you please shed light on the following:
-Can you tune a C6 neck to E9 or an E9 neck to C6?
-Is there a way to tell a C9 neck from a E9 neck with nothing much to go on? The only word I can find on the guitar is “stokes” on the neck.
-What would both tunings be for a 12 string?
-How do levers and pedals differ on the 12 to the ten sting?
