He's obviously acting like a toddler, but that was his pride/stubbornness talking. I think this woman could've been much more succesful with him if she'd been more intelligent in the way she approached everything. When you're dealing with a child, you need to encourage and then reward the behavior that you want, not try to impose a systematic plan for when the child is going to be doing this or that, because that will always backfire. That's where she lost her opportunity to change him.

I hope Misty has the opportunity to have a healthy conversation with her husband in a therapeutic environment where they can talk about holding him more accountable now that she's seen this without him feeling like he's being emasculated (if he chooses to play the victim card that opens other pieces but hopefully coming from the person he loves it can be seen as compassion and wanting somebody to grow with). Emasculation does very little to help somebody change and if he truly loves Misty hopefully he will choose to change on his own for the betterment of his entire family.

The white woman may willingly be doing this all, but this could simply be because of the lack of self-awareness, for the sake of her children, or just because she would be unable to financially support herself without Jack (which I think is fine, but it doesn't justify Jack's behavior).
