Honestly I wanna say thank you man you’ve made me wanna get dreads for the longest my mom told me I can finally get dreads I showed her your videos so she told me go ahead thanks man appreciate it🤘🏾💯
- you’re so soft-spoken . I caught myself leaning into the screen to dique “hear better” 😭😭 . Love your vids . I just coiled my hair for the first time thanks to your videos so bigups bro .
I have starter locs (like maybe two and a half months). Supper curly hair. But it’s coarse when it’s without product for a minute ...anybody else’s like that ?! I have wanted locs for YEARS and tried multiple times. The patience eludes me. This approach is the one. Ordering that tool today and gonna do this to my own hair and vlog it. #stayTuned
These look amazing, but PLEASE DO NOT PUT PRODUCTS IN YOUR LOCS. Use oils if you have to use anything except water. It may not be as effective but it slows down buildup extremely. Edit: Yes, I know he didn't use any product, just passing on the knowledge.
No you were right before the edit..he did use product. Jamaica Mango & Lime is a product. I'm looking at it on my desk right now. Less than half of it used in a 2 year period. I only used it during retwists and It was used sparingly. To it's credit - It certainly does help with loc'ing up the hair but there was still buildup. After two years I decided to switch to natural oils because I grew tired of seeing white film in my hair after washes. I spent a whole weekend trying to get it out - ACV rinse didnt work and using store bought shampoo doesnt work. I ended up using dawn lemon dish detergent. Let me tell you that stuff cut through all the build up. Dissolved it almost instantly.
@@xopandasiiox6415 I only tried two 15 min each soaks in ACV luke warm water. It loosened the build up but didnt quite get it out. Before using it be sure you have your new oils available because you will definitely have to oil your scalp afterwards. It completely strips your scalp to bone dry. Which makes sense..its the same stuff marine rescuers use to clean wildlife affected by oil spills. My hair felt like dry rope even as I was washing it. Not something you want to use often.
He look clean!!!!! They came out good nice work...thought about crocheting but wanted to enjoy the journey but idk my hair will take forever to lock I’m told
People DON'T put any of those products in your hair. Use liquid soap (dawn) or a high quality liquid shampoo to wash your hair. Do not use oils, gels, sprays... If you do, you WILL get build up - it's impossible to wash out and if it gets bad it becomes mould and you have to cut the locks off to restart. Get a loctician to start and maintain your locks and wash your hair with liquids soaps/shampoo only. No need for wrapping up your hair at night or using products. Don't use towels on your hair and try to avoid any lint/fleece material on your hair as locks tend to gather dust, fleece and other small particles as if it was velcro. Do it the natural way and you'll have NATURAL, HEALTHY locks that will never have build up and they will always look clean 🙏🏿✌🏿👌🏿 #staylocked folks!
These are beautiful and I’m glad the person who was recording got a good angle to see how he actually did it bc these other vids don’t get good angles.
Thank you for the tutorial. I was able to run through my relatively young locs that keep washing out and get a good base built after watching your video.
As a dreadhead, the twisting method isn’t quite a good method of you have thigh hair or thin hair. The reason why it’s not quite a good method is because it’ll unravel a lot quicker. With products in the dreads, it’ll form flakes.. and it’s not good and it’s not gonna stay in. Unless you want to maintain each individual “dread” two times a day until they eventually lock up then by all means go ahead, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Just sayin’ not hatin’
Today Thursday tomorrow on Friday will be life changing.. I will be the fist one with dreads in the school and the fist Hispanic in school to have them too...love from Washington bet u won't heart this boiiiiiiiii
Very helpful video..thank you kindly! I run a UA-cam channel and dread business for over 2 years now. I am about to have my first black client for a dread appointment and wanted to make sure I do his hair perfect for him! Your video was very helpful indeed. Thank you so much 😊✌🕉
just a quick tip once you lock your hair, start twisting it when it grows out more, it will make your dreads lay down better and easier for braiding styles, i kinda regret crocheting my dreads cause it make them hard cause the hair is so compacted together, they used to stick up in the air when i crochet the roots but now ive been twisting my hair for 2-3 months so my hair lays down and moves around alot more freely.
whats your thoughts on using exstensions to mantain the look and basically maintain the new growth to grow your dreads? Was thinking about doing that just cause i have a hightop but want a full head so i was gonna do that with my hair. DO you think that'll work or not. love the vids and hope you have a great 2019
Panda Hat well if you have high top dreads, and if you want to grow out your sides, then you can buy dread extensions to gain a full head! I hope that helped!
