I've never seen dreads
done this way. I take care of my sons hair almost knee length he's been growing them since 2011. No braids none of that new age stuff. Too dense to braid and twist like these guys, no products ,no combs ,none of that just PR that's it!! Birds nest bun,beanies,back ponytail or out no other styles. Why it weakens the hair shaft and causes breakage. Wash, and do the classic way to care for them. This will keep them strong no breakage and they will grow out of control. There like vines and don't worry about dye they will color up fine in the sun lots of swimming and depending on your natural hair color will get a unique hue. Mines were sandy brown and red due to the sun and I just offed mine became too heavy for my small frame and on the ground when loose 20 years too long. My sons his is red and soon will be near the floor as well. Wash,moisture and do less for happy long locs!!

Just watching this from Sydney NSW. I’m about 4 months in my dreadlocks from 2yrs grown out long hair, one month late of a relock😅. I use that gel that you mentioned including the shampoo. Maintenance is a workout but watching this clip gave me reassurance to keep my dreadlocks and to relock asap. Also had to pull out my dreads because it was pree much like this guys. Overall great video bro

I stopped separating and retwisting and my hair has never been so healthy. I use just aloe as a shampoo and rinse with distilled water once biweekly.

My partner has extremely long dreads and after seeing how well I’ve maintained mine he finally caved and asked me to do the same to his, his new growth was about the same and boi was it a mission, a long few hours but it came out so beautifully, where he was so excited to finally feel his scalp😂now I maintain his dreads regularly to avoid freeform cause he doesn’t like freeform. Great job Gunther🙌🏻

I started my dreads on January 19 2020 and I use Jamaican mango and lime but I didn’t know you used it too so that’s pretty cool that a famous UA-cam that has dreads actually uses something you can get from Sally’s instead of expensive products it’s online
