Thanks! Gunther i literally orded 1 off of Ebay because Amazon a lil too pricy and it works so good i had so many dread tips that look like ur dread tips and it feels good to fix it! If you're thinking about buying it 10/10 recommend it especially if you want your hair to loc up faster or your thinking about getting some, but i prefer you buy 1 off ebay because Amazon cost $7 ( + tax ) and i bought 1 from Ebay for only 81 cents 🤝🏾 once again thx Gunther
OMG I loved your video because I watched so many videos and yours was the one that finally got me to the point where I can actually do it.. thank you so much!! Continue making content!!!
Hey Brother Gunther, TY for your time, your patience & having a platform, to teach us how to loc our crowns. I’m locked up 11 yrs & it’s time for a change.(1) I started with a loctician & she did small / thin Locs, Big mistake. (on my part, not hers), I should have done thick Locs from da beginning (I’ve got thick hair). (2) For the past maybe, 6 months, I’ve done nothing & now I have ‘bout 3 inches new growth. have about 120 medium & thin Locs. I sectioned them off with the hair ties into 12 parts. Now each bundle (10 of them) has new growth and I braided them. I said 10 bundles because 2 of them are different / palm rolled. So, Where I do begin? 🤔. I have the crochet hook & the Loc tool. Your crown is 💯. I anxiously await your nuggets of ‘know how’ And I’ve got plenty of time, I’m retired ☺️ Blessings & Peace!
Yo I really appreciate you doing these videos, they're really helpful and high quality and i'm glad you're here on youtube to help and spread your knowledge.
Keep in mind that even using the crochet needle it will be shorter than if it locks up naturally and it will also be alot stiffer and harder to flow in a desired direction
this helped a lot i started my dreads by doing comb coils and then braided them and kept them in for about 3 weeks took them out washed them lightly and then crocheted them all took me a while but i got my sister to help
i also tied rubber bands at the roots of all my sections and just crocheted down from where the rubber bands started and from here on i'm just gonna maintain by twisting with gel
Thanks for making these videos. I was researching about locs before i started mine and came across you a couple of weeks ago. On the video where you opened your locs. CRAZYYYY now i started yesterday and i really hoped you woulld leave the locs in but i see now why youre doing it.. so keep doing you. i love your content.
Thank you Gunther for these tutorials I bought the same hooks. After 7 weeks my hair was like your in this video after trying comb coils. I have loose curly mixed hair. This is so helpful
I don’t and never have considered myself a hair/fashion person, but I’m obsessed with your videos haha. we have a similar hair type but unfortunately I have some thinning/recession in the front. Getting a transplant next month and I’m stoked for when I’ll be able to pull off some of these hairstyles in a few months.
Omg I bought the younique crochet hook already 0.75mm baby I works like a charm the same one he has, the wood gives you grip! It comes with 3 different types of crochet needles all 0.75mm but there's a 1 'HK 2' HK and 3'Hk needle some it's a win
I crocheted my hair by myself ,a high tip fade ,took me ab 4 and a half hours.icould have done it a bit faster but I had to section a lot of parts and I would get distracted too😂
I got dreadlocs almost two yrs ago an I started off with the crochet method and I’ve only got maintenance once and that was last yr in June! I’ve tried teaching myself how to crochet my own hair but it’s so hard and I ruined some of my dreads so I’m just letting my hair do what ever it wants for now
Hello I was trying to ask u how do you use a crochet hook for my own hair I keep on messing up can tell me or show another one of your dread lock videos.
_I just started the journey, my barber told me that i just passed the sponge and towel fase... and told me to start crochet hooking, i did 2 dreads myself now, but I don't know if I am doing it the correct way!_
Gunther please help i have straight hair i did crochet hooking and my dreads looked nice thet are about 2.5- 3 in long and theres alot of loose hair all the time even after i crochet hook for hours i have 55+ dreads what should i do to stop the hair from coming out of the dreads?
This really did help me !! I watched this video once and went bought a crochet needle the next day and returned to actually do it on my locs i really appreciate ur help all the luv from locs to urs 👩🏽🦱❤️🧑🏽🦱
Great video. I just want to mention (because nobody told me back when) you should always be careful with your crochet hook. Don`t use to much force when handling that tiny hook, or it will basically work like a tiny saw. It can mess up parts of your dreads. Make them all weak and thin. js
Yooo this is crazy!! i was watching your videos on instant dreads this morning because i want to do them but i needed a more in depth tutorial on it and you posted it!! Thank you so much!!!
Crochet hook:Not as good as sponge method or towel method. Before you come for me, I have tried all 3 methods and the sponge workd best for me,using locking gel, i have 4c hair type and my hair is very thick but my dreads came out in a perfect size.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO! During this pandemic I had to learn how to care for my locs at home. I purchased a crochet needle and I'm starting to get used to caring for my locs using it. Your videos are so helpful! Thanks once again!
Instant locs I have scalp psoriasis so I have to wash my hair pretty much every 3-4 days once I get instant locs will I have to continue to use a crochet to keep my roots tight since I will have to wash my hair less than a week after getting a retwist or it will stay loc’d after multiple washes?
Wayne White I wouldn’t get all my information from Gunther, he says one thing and then another. In one of his other videos recently he said he wasn’t using any products and wasn’t going to use the locking gel, and in this video he says he’s been using it so not consistent lol
I've been watching your videos for a few months now and your definitely my favorite because you explain everything very well 💯 But my hair type is 3a/3b. I got 2 strand twists to start my locs about 7 days ago is this a decent method for my hair type?
Everytime I wanna start dreads by doin twist sponge method...2 weeks in my head gets wayyy tooo itchy nd I get dandruff and I take the twists out by taking a shower...how do I fix this?🤔
If done right ,it could be considered as such. Consider doing the barrel roll with your hair which is you twisting two strands together and using rubberbands in the end. Just look up how to barrel roll/twist your dreads
Keep in mind that even using the crochet needle it will be shorter than if it locks up naturally and it will also be alot stiffer and harder to flow in a desired direction
Hey man i got my instant locs done a couple days ago but i got them small and I noticed most of my parts are big. Im curious will they thicken up or would i have to start over to make them a little thicker?

Thanks Gunther🔥🔥 Dope vid as always🙌🏼 Proud of you
4 months into my journey. No stylists available to retwist due to covid19 outbreak. Took me 5 hours to do my whole head. Very helpful video. Thank you

i just twisted my hair got some hang at about 4 -5 inches hightop dreadhawk hope it turn out good, do you have any tips for that style?
Can u make a video on the best looking method for straight hair dreadlocks please
He has before. For the best appearance use a crochet needle. For the easiest method use twist and rip,
Pele Spinola back comb and lightly crochet the dreads and rinse your hair in cold water frequently tr
im so happy ik now how to do it now
Crochet hook:Not as good as sponge method or towel method.

So are you gonna keep the twists or are you gonna comb em out a lil later?
Can you use like the hook one instead of the needle
Gunther please respond does this work on two strand twists
It would. It is just bringing the hair together
You just said in another video, I should start at the tip!! So which one is it now??? So confusing! :(

Buy dread shampoo but in the early stage u just gotta have it
Lebron James and also make sure you moisturise your hair and scalp well before hand
Litz ^^^^^^^
Lol dont scratch just hit it with ur knuckle
Take a Q-tip and put witch hazel and apply it on your scalp
grande fai sempre bei video! :)
🔥 probably going to try this on some of my tips
So would you do this as a “retwist” method ? Because I have mixed / white people hair so I can’t really twist mine
If done right ,it could be considered as such. Consider doing the barrel roll with your hair which is you twisting two strands together and using rubberbands in the end. Just look up how to barrel roll/twist your dreads
Can you do this for straight hair aswell?
yes
imeverywhere. That’s how u lock straight hair
imeverywhere. rip and twist
i still don’t understand the reason to comb the dreads to grow them right back
Can you use crochet needle on 2 strand twists and lock them up?
Ted yes
Keep in mind that even using the crochet needle it will be shorter than if it locks up naturally and it will also be alot stiffer and harder to flow in a desired direction
Thank you! I’m gonna try this
I always wanted to know if I can do this with short hair
I did it with about 3 and a half inches of hair and they came out perfectly fine, just make sure you do them correctly
I’m assuming you just neeed to have enough hair to twist or two strand twist and it should be fine
Where is this diddy link
Soooooo helpful thanks
Can I use a regular crotchet hook
