It's very American to have lots of cup holders. My E36 BMW has no cup holders, meaning I need to hold my cup while driving, which is difficult to do (it's even harder to drive because it's a 5-speed stick shift) I guess the one thing I should look for is an aftermarket cup holder.

Doug, I'm surprised you didn't mention the most unfortunate thing of all on the Escalade, the shamelessly cheap, plastic front grille you wouldn't even expect on a base model Kia let alone a Cadillac. Given that the grille is a signature part of not only the Escalade but of Cadillac in general, I'd expect it to be if not billet aluminum for this kind of money, aluminum nevertheless.
Nobody is going to but a $2000 billet grill on the front of their SUV (that grill would easily start life as several hundred pounds of aluminum if made from billet plus probably a day or more of CNC time). Plus, I legitimately believe it would be a liability in an accident for both vehicles involved. Of all of the things that offend me about Escalades, I accept the plastic grill.

You should look on auto trader for a 2016. 80K plus all day and they sell fast. Thats not even a platinum trim version. They hold their value well. Just sold my 2015 Yukon XL with 50k miles for over 80% of its window sticker. Also not bad mileage. I pull boats with it alot and still averaged over 20 mpg. Escalade is a bit lower due to its slightly larger V8 but still not bad if u r using it for its intended purpose

I find the symbols on those buttons to be painfully obvious. 5:56 child window lock / 5:59 disables the retractable running board / 6:04 heated seats / 6:07 that's a bottle with a snowflake, so obviously enables the refrigerator in the center console.
Just love your reviews so entertaining. Currently driving a Yukon XL Denali and had an oportunity to get Escalade esv for same price, but chose to stay with Yukon. Think the intetior is more practical & durable than escalade, although cant beat the escalade seats.
That's insane $ for an Escalade. They were like 40k when they 1st came out if I recall right. Would totally take a Range Rover, Jag, XC90-etc for that crazy $. Or a Yukon Denali and pocket like 30k.

We have had three Escalades and a currently a 2019 Yukon xl Denali...I love the column shifter. It’s really easy to drive. Its great... Yes, some cheap parts inside but with that 10 speed auto it’s smooth shifting.

There are many ways to avoid it, such as having a proper wire harness, a cable chase for it, and a beauty panel to hide it all. There's no excuse for a $100k car to have phone charger cords dangling off the back window. Frankly, there's no excuse for a $20,000 car to have them. There's _really_ no excuse for having *2* of them. That was just sloppy design work and I'm really surprised that Cadillac didn't bitch enough to make Chevy fix it. GM flat out just didn't want to spend the extra $30 a vehicle to do it right.
Even though I know objectively the Navigator is probably a better vehicle, it just doesn't appeal to my emotions like the Escalade does, and I think that's its greatest achievement.
You forgot the Massage seats and the awesome storage locker behind the screen!! As well as the column shifter is legitimately the best place to rest your hand on long road trips.
The 5th gen Escalade is a huge step up from the one in this video...but it's also much more expensive. A fully loaded one with a supercharged V8 will set you back at least $150K US...before options (if there's any at that price point) and dealer markups.
Bruh, the supercharged V8 and anything V series is a whole different league. You wouldn’t compare a V6 CTS to a CTS-V. The aero underneath and so much more is absolutely insane. V series vehicles are race cars, if you don’t believe me google the undercarriage of a 2011 CTS-V. The first time I looked under my V I was completely blown away.
I love this escalade and I can say that the reason they wont do the pano roof is becuase some people use the roof rack and haul stuff on top and with a pano roof if you scratch it you will see it inside. also I enjoy the orignal shifter and windshield wiper controls. you can easily transition from the trucks to owning one easily. we have alot of farmers that live around us that love this becuase it still has alot of utility features that they need but there wives can still travel in style. It isnt just for the ceos and the wealthy city peopel it is a very nice vehicle to have for farm wives as well! we appriciate a little glammer! Plus the room is great for hauling all the kiddos from church around on sunday morning! Great SUV cant wait to get one next year. We have been pondering it for 4 years now and I cant wait! After ridding in my neighbors and seeing this review It just makes you want it more.

I find the symbols on those buttons to be painfully obvious. 5:56 child window lock / 5:59 disables the retractable running board / 6:04 heated seats / 6:07 that's a bottle with a snowflake, so obviously enables the refrigerator in the center console.
6:04 is actually the massage option on thr seat. Similar to what the F-series ford platinum editions have,

That's insane $ for an Escalade. They were like 40k when they 1st came out if I recall right. Would totally take a Range Rover, Jag, XC90-etc for that crazy $. Or a Yukon Denali and pocket like 30k.

There is. My BMW didnt have them and it also had a defrostable, openable rear window. Seems like it was an afterthought on this car.
jaboxs my old 2004 Renault laguna estate had one of those glass 'shopping shoots' , with no telephone wires. That was a sub £20k car 13 years ago.
There are many ways to avoid it, such as having a proper wire harness, a cable chase for it, and a beauty panel to hide it all. There's no excuse for a $100k car to have phone charger cords dangling off the back window. Frankly, there's no excuse for a $20,000 car to have them. There's _really_ no excuse for having *2* of them. That was just sloppy design work and I'm really surprised that Cadillac didn't bitch enough to make Chevy fix it.

The 5th gen Escalade is a huge step up from the one in this video...but it's also much more expensive. A fully loaded one with a supercharged V8 will set you back at least $150K US...before options (if there's any at that price point) and dealer markups.
Bruh, the supercharged V8 and anything V series is a whole different league. You wouldn’t compare a V6 CTS to a CTS-V. The aero underneath and so much more is absolutely insane. V series vehicles are race cars, if you don’t believe me google the undercarriage of a 2011 CTS-V. The first time I looked under my V I was completely blown away.
I love this escalade and I can say that the reason they wont do the pano roof is becuase some people use the roof rack and haul stuff on top and with a pano roof if you scratch it you will see it inside. also I enjoy the orignal shifter and windshield wiper controls. you can easily transition from the trucks to owning one easily. we have alot of farmers that live around us that love this becuase it still has alot of utility features that they need but there wives can still travel in style. It isnt just for the ceos and the wealthy city peopel it is a very nice vehicle to have for farm wives as well! we appriciate a little glammer! Plus the room is great for hauling all the kiddos from church around on sunday morning! Great SUV cant wait to get one next year. We have been pondering it for 4 years now and I cant wait! After ridding in my neighbors and seeing this review It just makes you want it more.
