Hello!
With all of this recall on home scents etc
I’ve decided to make my own
Ty for this tutorial 💕
Thank you so much for this amazing video. May I ask if I want to make tart melts using palm wax, at which temperature should I pour the fragrance oil in and at which temperature should I pour the wax into my mould?
Your videos are my favourite
Thank you so much!! I really hope they are helpful!!
Thank You !!
Nice, what temp should it be when pouring in mold
Amazing thank you
so glad it was helpful!
Can you cover Flash Point of FO more? I have heard that you shouldn't pour your FO above its' flash point. What is your advice on this ?
Hello Pro Candle Supply How are you? Can you able to use any kind of soy wax and can you able to use soy wax in the candle molds? and do you have a recipe for a soy wax frosting recipes too?
thank you
when will you restock the candle dyes
Very nice video .which chemical are used for clean the wax . Is it parafin wax or soy wax .thank's madem ji
Do I need to let the wax cool at all before adding fragrance? Is it different for synthetic fragrance and essential oils?
Hi newbie here. How do you calculate how much wax you need for each shell?
How did you cool them? Fridge or room temp?
Maybe this will seem random but what is the reason for using a natal pitcher when melting wax? I assume that a plastic pitcher may be just as effective, right?
What did u let your wax cool to before you poured?
Can i use dye block instead??
Very good video. In your opinion what is the very best wax to buy for the purpose of clam shell tarts only? Also would silicone mats or silicone treat molds used for baking be ok to pour in? Your video is by far the best - just need to verbally add what temp you pour into the molds but I do see you answered a viewers question. Thank you.
Yes id like to know what temp to pour at
What temperature did you pour wax😮
What’s the name of that pink and the purple one that’s on the counter?
Hey question is it true that I can add 15%-18% of fragrance oil to my wax melts?
Can you make the melts out of any wax?
At what temp to you pour the wax onto the mold ??
I'm learning at lot and. So goes. Slow enough for me to follow
so glad to hear! happy crafting!
Is it the same formula for essential oils?
Hellooo,do u use stearin in soy wax?
how are these tiles used?
Could you tell me why, when I weigh a kg of wax and put it in my wax melter I only get 800ml out of it. I have drained the wax melter totally and heated my Pyrex jug so there is no set wax in the jug.! But I always seem to be 200ml short
Is 464 soy wax to soft for wax melts?
Thx!!!
You're welcome!
Did you use a tart wax or just soy 464?
What about adding an additive to help with fragrance throw and is there an additive to keep them solid when in the packets as our summers get up to 45 degree days. Or is there a particular wax that is a lot harder?
I only have 1LB of wax will that fill 6 clamshells total
Hi, I understand that soy wax, especially 464 does not set well or harden enough and makes it difficult to pop out of the clamshell as it breaks apart a bit and or leaves a lot of residue. It would have been nice to see you pop them out and melt them in a warmer to see the integrity of the wax you used. Also the scent throw isn't the best with just this wax so I do see people add in 1 and 1/2 times more FO then recommended or adding in paraffin for the best hot throw. How did these melt? TY
Hoping for a response as mine stuck in the mold and the solution was to place in the refrigerator.
I use cms 600 and let it sit in molds for a few days
Thank you for that review! I was about to buy that wax for the tarts but nvm! Don’t want headaches! Thx
Do I have to cool down the wax before adding frangrence?
How long do I cure them for please?
2 weeks
My local candle store sells large clamshells for twice the size for the same price
Where is that? 😂
what is half pound into grams?
What temp are you cooking to, before pouring into the clamshells? 160° or 145°?
You’ll need to hear your wax to 190-195 degrees, add color, allow to cool to 185 degrees and add fragrance oil, stir for 2-3 minutes to bind fragrance with wax, allow to cool to 145-150 degrees and pour into clamshells. You want to use between 6-10% fragrance oil per pound of wax- I recommend 8-10%. Cure 1-2 weeks before use.
hi can I ask are you using container soy wax or pillar soy wax? and does it matter?
Yes i would like to know that to thank you
I use essential oils in my soaps and body butters. Can I use essential oils in was melts?
No!
What temperature should the wax be before u add the fragrance and what is the best wax to use ?
45-50 grados
Can I take my wax melts and melt them down and make candles out of them
but you never told us how many drops you did for each color and what is the cure time before you can use them?
What temp does the wax have to be before u pour it ? Or does that depend on the type of wax you are using ?
When using soy wax I usually pour my soy tarts around 135 F or when the wax begins to get cloudy! Make sure you stir again before pouring! Hope this helps, Thanks!=)
Pro Candle Supply yes it does thank u
Needing to know where to buy cheap oil to make tarts
I bought my fragrance oil from the flaming candles. There's an option for sample fragrance oil for $15.50 and you'll get to choose up to 7 1oz fragrance oil. And they'll give you a free 1oz more
Why are my melts breaking apart when taking them out of the shell
Am I able to make wax melt with the starter kit. If so how much wax and can I use the whole 1oz bottle. Please help
Hello! Please send me an email or message directly from my website procandlesupply.com so I can help=) Thanks!
At what temperature did you pour the wax and the dye..thank you
I’m thinking it’s the same as the regular candles at 135f !! I’m going to test it and see because she heated it at the regular 185f temperature
Hi, is the pouring temperature 135f?
Pro Candle Supply How are you? what kind of wax the best wax for making wax melts with the molds or making wax melts?
Her video she is using 464 wax
How many drops did you use for the fragrance?
you have to use the formula which is: # of wax your using x 0.09= the number of fragrance you will be using
My 464 keeps getting white frosting
If we want to add more than one fragrance how do you do it?
I just split the amount of each fragrance in half or 3 if using 3. I usually mix them together first in a cup.
Yeah, I wish she had taken out ONE of the blocks of wax - because I'm pretty sure it would have been a little mushy and left a mess in the clam shell. I tried this several times and its a mess. So, I went and purchased a combination of soy and paraffin wax--- bam--- no muss, no fuss. Comes out clean, neat, the blocks break apart BEAUTIFULLY.. Who knows, perhaps there's a trick like maybe letting a clamshell filled with soy wax cool in the freezer or whatever.. but soy only wax melts are a bit messssssy. Just sayin. :-)
Hi, do you use a specific Soy wax for wax melts? I only have soy wax for container
In theory when you're making soy wax tarts in the clamshells it shouldn't matter too much since the container holds the shape and the user simply breaks the wax and drops it in their melter. If you're trying to make shaped tarts you would need a soy blend or firmer wax for tarts. I like to use 464 wax to make my tarts because I like the fragrance throw of the wax but some think it's too soft.
@@ProCandleSupply Hello dear, is there a chance to contact you on IG or on Facebook to ask you for some technical details?
Can you tell me the ingredients please?
Can you please add measurements in mls and grams. Am soooo confused 😕
Whatever measurement you use whether ml or gms and usually preferrably in gms the percentage doesnt change. If you use 500gms you still do 9% of that .some go up ton10% fragrance.
I use 11 ounce soy flakes and 1oz of fragrance. I melt the wax to 180 degrees. Then I add the color and oil. And pour into moulds at 160. You can smell the fragrances in the moulds. But I tested in the burning and nothing. :( I really need help.
Yo vi un video que dice que para eso usas el doble de fragancia no es igual que en las velas
My clamshells seem to dip in the middle once cooled. Where have I gone wrong?
Pouring too hot
why did you not use a tart wax?
How long do these cure before burning?
Hello! You should give them at least 24 hours but several days is ideal! Thanks!
The best for 464 is 2 weeks!
Wait thought 464 is too soft for clamshells or molds I’m confused? I’ve been wanting to make the clamshells but everyone said you could not only in cups hmmm....🤔
I have the same question. Is 494 ok to use, that's what I bought. Hooe it's ok?
Jodie H I’m going to do the exact same steps as her and see how it turns out my other concern is when wax is to hot wont the fragrance oil burn, cause soy wax is a slow process to cool down your fragrance oil will be sitting there burning away. Lol like I said I’m confused.... yet I’m going to follow her steps yet I’m going to use 12% fragrance load just in case. Let me know how yours does. 👍🏽
Jodie H also I saw her say she lets The was sit and she pours it at 135 degrees or until it’s cloudy so make sure you stir it good before pouring. 😊
I've used 464 and they frost. Tried 1000 temp combos for melting/pouring. Still frost. I also cram 2+ oz/lb of scent in them. Not sure what defects that's supposed to create, but other than frosting, I have no real defects. Great scent throw.
I've looked into other waxes, but reviews on every wax are 180 degrees from perfect to horrible. Nobody seems to have a good answer.
I've heard the same thing. I'm going to use pillar wax which I believe is 494 and used 10 to 12% fragrance per pound of wax.
I’ve never been able to get 464 to work for wax melts, they’re always too soft and mushy
I tend to do a beeswax mix so 75% soy way, 25% beeswax. Keeps the shape and works a charm for me
@@carinagarage same here, If I want a chocolate smell I also add in Cocoa Butter too
@@SunflowerToshaDiys Ooh, what a great idea! Might have to try that
Is it soft soy wax or hard soy wax ?
Thank you
Soy wax us a soft wax!
464 doesn't ship well as was melts for me
this is confusing because so many videos say this wax is too soft for clamshell packaging and you did not actually show us removal and breaking it off
Okay do..one of my fragrances from bramble berry flash point is 165.. why would I heat my wax to 185 to add it. Wouldn't that catch my house on fire? Lol did she say darn? Haha
You don't add the fo at 185. Add the fo around 155 to 160 if the flash point is 165.
You heat the wax to 185 to completely break down the crystals but you almost always let it cool a bit before adding fo or color.
I have a dumb question... if I was measuring 0.72 ounces on my scale using the lbs/Oz setting is that just 0.7 ounces? Math is not my strong suit.
That could either mean its 0 lbs 7 ounces, or its 0.7 ounces. Try weighing something you know is at least 1 pound to see how your scale presents that number. Then try something that's at least 5 ounces. Every scale is different so you just have to figure out how your scale presents the weight!
What temp do you pour at
With the 464 soy wax I typically pour around 135 F =)
U said u r using 460 for soy wax!!! I didn't get it wat do u mean by 460??
The wax is called 464 not 460 for soy wax
Cant belive i cant order to ireland😥
Don’t they need wicks..?
Bo
No
I though 464 takes up to 12%.
kerio Masters it sure does and I thought you can’t use 464 in clamshells or molds I’m confused. I do Scoopable wax with 464 but just got a recipe to do wax melts but was told you can only use cups🤦🏻♀️
Yet she used 1/2 lb of wax
@@Jenni-wy3pw do you have a receipt for scoopable wax thanl you
Do you find your coloured soy wax melts develop a frost over time? I really want to make some chocolate scented and coloured melts what has your experience been?🤔
Hello! I would try pouring your soy wax at a lower temperature, this way it should help reduce crystal formation. Also, in my experience when pouring wax melts vs candles, the darker I make the wax melts (ie adding more dye) it usually helps hide any frosting. Hope this helps! Thanks!
Pro Candle Supply what temperatures do you add fragrance and colouring and what temp do you pour?
wouldn't be easier to just add fragrance oil to water and put in a warmer...
I wouldn’t want one of your wax melts at 9%..I use more in my candle than that..15% is what I use in my wax melts
