പത്തൊമ്പതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ അവസാനത്തോടെ ആണ് കാറുകൾക്ക് പിന്നിൽ rumble seat (അമേരിക്കൻ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ), dicky seat (ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്) നിർമിക്കാൻ ആരംഭിച്ചത്. ഇത്തരം സീറ്റുകൾ കാറിന്റെ ക്യാബിനു വെളിയിൽ ആയിരുന്നു...വെയിലും തണുപ്പും മഴയും എല്ലാം കൊള്ളുന്ന രീതിയിൽ.... വീട്ടിലെ അടിമകളെ അഥവാ സെർവെൻറ്സ് നെ കൊണ്ട് പോകുന്നതിനായിരുന്നു ഈ സീറ്റ് നിർമിച്ചത് (ഉള്ളിൽ ഇരുത്താൻ പറ്റില്ലല്ലോ) .... ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് കൊളോണിയൽ രാജ്യങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ഇത്തരം കാറുകൾ കപ്പൽമാർഗം എത്തി... മിക്കവാറും ഈ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ ഈ സീറ്റുകളിൽ ലഗ്ഗേജ് വച്ച് കെട്ടി കൊണ്ട് പോകാനാണ് ഉപയോഗപെടുത്തിയിരുന്നത്.... ഡിക്കി യിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ലഗ്ഗേജ് എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുവരൂ എന്ന ഓർഡർ കേട്ട ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് കൊളോണിയൽ സെർവെൻറ്സ് ആണ് കാറിന്റെ പുറകിലെ ഈ ഭാഗത്തെ സ്ഥിരം ആയി ഡിക്കി എന്ന് വിളിച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയത്.... എന്നാൽ ഇരുപതാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ ആരംഭത്തിൽ തന്നെ അമേരിക്ക വലിയ ശക്തി ആയി വളരുകയും ലോകത്തിന്റെ പല ഭാഗങ്ങളും കോളനി ആകുകയും ഹോളിവുഡ് സിനിമകൾ പ്രചാരത്തിൽ വരുകയും ക്രമേണ അമേരിക്കൻ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഇംഗ്ലീഷിനേക്കാൾ പ്രചാരം നേടുകയും ചെയ്തു... ഈ കാലത്തു തന്നെ dicky seat നു പകരം അവിടെ സ്റ്റോറേജ് സ്പേസ് ആയി കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.. ഇതിനെ അമേരിക്ക കാർ " Boot space " എന്ന് വിളിച്ചു.. വളരെ പെട്ടന്ന് ഹോളിവുഡ് സിനിമകളിലൂടെ ഈ വിളി ലോകം മുഴുവൻ എത്തി... ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് കാര് അത് തിരുത്താനും നിന്നില്ല കാരണം Dicky സ്പേസ് ഒരുതെറ്റായ പ്രയോഗം ആയിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ..... . ഹോളിവുഡ് സിനിമകളുടെ സ്വാതീനം വളരെ വൈകി എത്തിയ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് കൊളോണിയൽ രാജ്യങ്ങളിൽ അപ്പോളേക്കും കാറിന്റെ പുറകിലെ സ്റ്റോറെജ് dicky ആയി അംഗീകരിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു... എന്നിരുന്നാലും അമേരിക്കൻ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ന്റെ സ്വാതീനം സിനിമകളിലൂടെയും ടെക്‌നോളിജിയായും ( windows / MAC ) പതുകെ പതുകെ പഴയ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് പ്രയോഗങ്ങളെയും വാക്കുകളെയും തിരുത്തികൊണ്ടിരിയ്ക്കുന്നു.... ( ലോറി ... ട്രക്ക് ആയതുപോലെ) ദേ ഇപ്പൊ ബൈജു ചേട്ടനിലൂടെ മലയാളികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ Dicky space... Boot Space ആവുന്നു... അനിവാര്യമായ മാറ്റം ......

ഞാൻ ഇതുവരെ ടാറ്റ വണ്ടി കല്യാണത്തിന് എടുക്കുന്ന കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല. പക്ഷേ ഇപ്പൊ കുറച്ച് നാളായി ഞാൻ കൂടുന്ന പല കല്യാണത്തിനും പെണ്ണ് അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ചെക്കൻ വരുന്നത് ഒരു ടാറ്റ വണ്ടിയിൽ ആണ്. അത് കാണുമ്പോൾ ഒരു പ്രത്യേക സന്തോഷം ഉണ്ട്. ടാറ്റ harrier പൂക്കൾ ഒക്കെ വെച്ച് ഒരു വരവ് വരുന്നത് കാണാൻ എന്ത് ഭംഗി ആയിരുന്നു. 🔥🔥.
