    I just made this with no real expectations because I'm a terrible baker. By the time these went in the oven, I was thinking this was so much work for 5 pastries. When they came out, my first thought was these things are HUUUUGE. And I bit into them, and I almost cried because this is one of the most delicious things I have ever baked. Try it for yourself, you wont regret it!
    Also, what is the best way to store these if not eaten right away? In the fridge?

    You know what just dawned on me? The bread and the cream filling are essentially made with the exact same ingredients, just in different proportions and with different methods of preparation. (the only differences are the vanilla in the cream and the yeast in the dough!) That is amazing...and I seriously need to try this!

    I baked this recipe today. It turned out well for my first try and they are SO DELICIOUS and yummy. Maangchi, thank you for sharing this. You’re my favorite UA-cam channel. I love your videos, I have cooked other dishes from your channel. I love to travel, but because of my disability from metastatic breast cancer, I cannot travel, so being able to cook some authentic Korean recipes at home is the best best thing because it helps me get to know the culture of the country the food is from and I get to try some new yummy food.
    Thank you so much for making cooking fun and adventurous. You’re my inspiration. I also got one of your latest cookbooks autographed by you and it made me so happy!!! I wish one day I could meet you in person to thank you for making my life more fun with cooking.

    This reminds me of the miniature custards I used to always buy from the subway vendors when I lived in Seoul. It's probably the sweetest dessert I have ever tasted in South Korea. Most Korean desserts aren't very sweet. I love listen to and watching Maangchi. She is soooo adorable!!! I want to give a her a big hug and a kiss. She's too sweet!

    I like this video. I like how she's thorough in explaining the measurements and steps. For example, when she used the instant yeast packet. She told us exactly how much yeast to use instead of just saying 1 packet of instant yeast.

    I tried some custard cakes from a food vendor in front of a Korean store in SD. I wanted more they tasted so delish. I don’t mean to change the subject of this custard cake recipe, but I specifically went to this Korean store to purchase the thin shredded squid to make the candied dried squid like your Mama put in your lunch box as a kid. I tried dish in Hawaii with my daughter and we were addicted. I searched all over the net for the recipe to no avail. Then one day, I struck gold with you. Thank you for your mouth watering custard cakes and my very fav candied dried squid you posted on another recipe. 🥰😍💞

    Dutch bakers have something like this but the very easy version. They make soft buns and just slice and fill them after baking and cooling with the cream and cover the whole thing with some icingsugar. They have different names for it but one translates as a "puddingbun" and it has always been a favorite of mine.

    I made this last night and it was so good. The only thing was, my bread didn't come out as fluffy and fuller like Maangchi's. I used plain flour instead of all purpose wheat flour, so that probably had something to do with it. But considering it was my first time making something like this, it was really really good. I'll just have to perfect the bread texture as I make more of this in the future. Thank you Maangchi for sharing this recipe 😊

    어릴때 빵집 가면 무조건 크림빵은 꼭 사왔었는데, 지금 잔뜩 저녁먹고 영상 보고 있는데.. 저 크림빵으로 디저트 먹으면 오늘 하루 마무리 완벽 할꺼 같아요~ 아 근데... ㅎㅎ 집근처에 한국마켓도 없어서 그냥 망치님 냉커피랑 크림빵 드시는걸로 대리만족 해야겠어요~

    I made the cream custard bun yesterday. Following your recipe, it came out well and was tasty.
    I substituted egg with thick curd for the bun making. For the cream used custard powder plus milk, didn't use egg. It also came out well.

    I made this after one day that I saw your video, it came out so good, not too sweet . Will make it again for sure . My first time to made bread is your bread rolls and I still made it every week for breakfast, so good with butter and jam . Thanks for sharing your recipes.

    OMG!!!!!! I cannot believe this video is out. Maangchi, you are my angel! I have been looking for a custard bread and was about to Frankenstein it using a multitude of different recipes, with your sweet bread recipe as a base. BUT YOU DID IT!!!!! THANK YOU!

    저는 비교적 한인들이 많이 사는 프랑크 푸르트 근교 살아도, 늘 한국의 음식이 그립고, 생각나요..그래서 저도 집에서 제가 먹고싶은 디저트나 한국식 빵을 만들어 먹는걸로 만족하고 있어요😊 제가 사는 지역은 한국식 빵집이나, 카페도 몇곳 있는데도 항상 한국식 빵에 목말라있는것같아요😭😭 저도 요며칠 크림빵 생각했는데 저도 만들어 봐야겠어요😍 요리부터 빵까지 정말 만능 이신것같아요👍👍
