if the Town Car has air ride suspension it would be superior, for sure. Some Town cars came factory with rear springs. The HID lights on the town car can't be beat on high beam. It's an experience. You see the separation and the clarity is full audience.
My parents have a 2011 DTS platinum edition with less than 34,000 miles. The seats are as comfortable as when the Cadillacs, Buicks and even Oldsmobiles had pillowed seats. Miss the days of the d’elegance package.

How can you possibly be into Cadillacs and not like vinyl roofs? I'll give you that the DTS, being barely a Cadillac to begin with as far as I'm concerned, doesn't mesh that well with the vintage look...but it definitely wears it better than its phony contemporary Cads. I drove a 2006 for a while, and it was definitely a step down from even the 2000 DeVille. Which, by the way, wears a vinyl roof a billion times better and still has Cadillac feel to the interior.
Great Cat!!! I've had mine, 2009 DTS, for 6 years now! Runs Fantastic, especially at 80 M.P.H. or better.... Highway runs are the best with a great CD playing on your drive to the shore.
I wouldn't trade my 2010 town car for it. I like the video. Love seeing all your reviews. But I'll keep my town car forever. You did one with the kenny bell super charger, What a lincoln.

I'd take this car over any Cadillac made since. It may be FWD but it's nice. Not an S-class or 7 series competitor, but it doesn't have to be. There's something to be said about honest, value-per-pound American luxury. One of Cadillac's better interiors as well.
I'm a huge DTS fan and past owner. I totally agree it looks horrible and cheap with the vinyl top and gas door cutout. Looks like my son did it when he was in 2nd grade
If you want a deville get a 05 (last year )only. You can go with a 04,but make sure it was built in 2nd half of production year…so a March 04- august 04…
Fantastic car, I'd have it but it was never sold here. As longong as the Northstar is 2006 onwards, don't want head gasket issues. I just have to make do with my Seville STS in right hand drive 🤠

You can get the lower trims with console and floor shifter or shifter on the column…the highest trim “platinum” it’s console shifter only, the “premium “ may be the same way

I had a 2011 DTS Platinum that I bought new. before the warranty ended it went through two engines due to the gaskets fully blowing. the third engine was a good one and had 204k miles when I sold it transmission had 253k miles. If you get a good one and follow the maintenance to a T, its a good car.

Bill the XTS was nothing like the DTS. It was hideous IMO with the turtle like profile of every other modern sedan. The DTS actually had the profile of a car with a long hood and at least a hint of a trunk. The wheels are not pushed to the outer most ends of the car and it is not as tall as it is long. I think Cadillac discontinued the XTS after about 3-4 years it was such an embarrassment in my mind it was just as bad as the down-sized DeVille in 1985 but they were far more popular for some reason.
Cadillac made the XTS from 2013 to 2019. They were popular cars that did well for the Cadillac division. I don't really like them however, but this DTS is the closest thing in size to the XTS.

douglas ruopp Avoided any northstars that we’re made in the 90s!!!! 2000 and on the northstars became much better in reliability!!! A big thing with Northstars is keep up on the oil changes don’t follow the oil life computer go back to an traditional 3,000 to 4,000 mile oil change interval. There high maintenance engines but they reward you with how smooth they are and that great northstar V8 engine note. I wish Cadillac updated the Northstar instead of ending it!!

The only body that belongs in that trunk is whoever made this thing instead of the 2000 DeVille, and took the touring sedan name and slapped it on this without considering what the alphabet soup stood for. Wtf even an XTS? Xabloomafoo Touring Sedan? I had one of these, a 2006, for a while and I hated it. It ran FINE, but the seat shape sucked, the controls sucked, the seat feel sucked...it felt like a poor attempt at trying to turn a 2000 Volvo S80 into a Cadillac. And even if that WAS the goal, I could tell you a million things to make it better and still meet that goal. I liked my 2000 DeVill so much better. If i had a choice between another DTS and a 2000 DeVille, both spec'd exactly perfect including aftermarket coachbuilder stuff, I'd always take the 2000 DeVille. One thing I REALLY liked though was the air conditioned seats. Made the seats look like fucking football jerseys, but dang was it comfy. Over all, better than literally anything from the 2010s or thus far of the 2020s. On the electric scam path, this will always be superior. With the way I need my car to be, if i were forced to daily drive a 2006-2011 DTS, I would be forced to wig out, move to Baltimore, and become a serial killer. 8/10
I´m 77 years ols and live in Rajka on the Slovakian/Austrian border near Bratislava and have a 2006 Cadillac DTS with over 250000 kilometres on the clock and it is still like new. It uses no oil and is extremely comfortable.
My Uncle just left me this car after he passed away. It rides as smooth as silk. I highly recommend it.

The sensor by the rear view mirror, center top of the windshield is actually the sensor for the Rainsense windshield wipers...a very nice option.

Don't get the 01 to 05, they have head gasket issues and if you have to fix it, it'll cost more than the car is worth.

Never cared for the cloth tops because of the funky fake snaps, but the chrome trim around base of top makes it more elegant.

How reliable is it
Engine is very reliable, other things like the wiring and fuel pump eventually go. Fuel pump is easy to replace, fuse box is a bit harder.
