I agree with you. The new ones are too sporty. These were the last of the traditional Cadillacs. XTS doesn’t have the bench seats either. This DTS looks so modernized. Especially compared to a Town Car. Some of these I believe came with a screen too in the dashboard modernizing it even more without sacrificing traditional driving.

I rented one for a cousins wedding DTS middle console black on black, it had nav screen I watched Goodfellas felt bad ass! The car was amazing, good power , comfort was 1st class. Worst part was MPG vs Town car but more power. Its the last real caddy and not based on any other car from GM
My Uncle just left me a 2009 Caddilac DTS this exact same color. It is a very smooth ride. I'm really enjoying the car. I highly recommend them. Mines has just over 93 thousand miles on it. I hope to have it for years to come.
Very good price, people don’t understand the high value of a DTS in this condition! Nothing in the new Cadillac lineup competes!

I agree with your assessment of the last “traditional” Cadillac. That is, the 1996 Fleetwood is the true last traditional Cadillac, but other models for years certainly had vestiges of the good old classics, and this model truly is the last one to pay any lip service whatsoever to the traditional Cadillac. This can be seen in the somewhat formal styling with vertical tail lamps that almost recall fins, the large egg crate grill on the front, the fact it can seat six in the interior along with the seats actually appearing and being reasonably comfortable, the somewhat large (for the time) exterior, interior, and trunk dimensions, and, of course, the naturally aspirated V8. For sedans, this was the last one where luxury and class came before being sporty, and the last Cadillac I have any interest in unfortunately.

Anthony, I must say you are so hard on yourself. The cars you get your hands on always turn out beautiful. I have the same love for these cars. I would buy a car from you in a heartbeat. I wish you had some Eldorados. I have my father's Caddy Deville it's a 1998. We bought bran new. The car only has 13,784 miles. It's in mint condition. Car has never scent bad weather. That is my favorite Deville. It is next to my 2002 Caddy Eldorado commemorative in alpine white. With only 5,034 miles. I have # 3 out of 1,600 It was the last of the Eldorado ETC. About the Northstar it's a GREAT engine. I have other Caddy I have put over 300,000 miles on them with no problem. Do regular maintenance & your good to go. I Thank you for all your hard work. Very nice Cadillac
If the 09 is the same as my Mother's 07, there's a charging port just under the driver's seat. While sitting in the driver's seat, reach under the front with your right hand and it should be right there. I accidentally found it while looking for something that fell under the seat.

I admit I am not a fan of a few things like the headlights, the analog gauges, placement of the seat controls, and the engine, but it is still a very nice vehicle. It makes you wonder what Oldsmobile 98 would have looked like had it lived that long. Thank you for your efforts and sharing.

I've previously asked about what you use on your vinyl tops, hope you don't mind me asking again. You mentioned that it was "treated", so please share what you use. I'd like to also treat the vinyl top on the '05 Town Car I just got to keep it looking like new and protected while it has no garage right now. Thanks and I really like this DTS.....hummmmmm **Thanks for the tire info regarding the Travelstar, our local Pep Boys doesn't carry them but they do carry another white wall with no mileage warranty/rating. Just my luck! ;)
I use a wholesale vinyl treatment from my local detailer supply house. It’s their private label. For a retail customer I would recommend 303 Or any product from Raggtopp!
@@specialtymotorcars Appreciate the information. I use to get a GM product that I used working at Chevrolet and used a similar product from Chrysler but not available anymore. Used to get detailing supplies from a wholesaler in Va Beach but not in business. Hitting dead ends down here in SE VA. So many suggestions on internet that I would never put on a nice vinyl top!

I haven’t sent a car to Canada since the pandemic. I used to have a company that handled all the importing and transportation. I’m sure they still do.

4:09 just as you said all new brakes & rotors, I'm looking & thinking 🤔, is that rust I see on the rotors showing thru the slotted rims? 😕

Brakes were put on before cleaning. As soon as the wheels and tires are hosed down, sprayed in wheel acid and degreaser, and hosed off the rust sets in (bare metal)

I appreciate your comprehensive description of the appearance of your cars but would appreciate more detail on the mechanicals and trouble areas for the particular car. I owned an early 2000's Caddy DTS and loved it but discovered AFTER I purchased it that the Northstar V-8 can be VERY troublesome e.g. oil leak that cost $2000 to fix (mostly the labor to remove and reinstall the engine); same problem a bit over a year later but a different seal. It required repairs on such a regular basis that I decided it was my last GM car, although I must say I am tempted by this beauty.
I try to tackle the mechanical stuff here, but obviously used anything is possible for failure in the future. These are pretty robust cars. The Northstar Cadillacs all seem to have oil leaking issues

That is very well priced, try finding any car with less than 40,000 miles with V8 and four door sedan for 15,000. I am waiting for your reply…
I always say I may not be the cheapest but I’m never the most expensive. And I try to build value in service and making them as turn key as I can.

Nice, but I would add whitewalls. FWD Cadillacs have always been superior to RWD Lincolns, IMHO.
I didn’t only because the tires were so new and chunky, and white walls never came on these.

Interesting that the wheel alignment didn't seem to be a big project. Up here in the snow belt a wheel alignment on a vehicle of that vintage would involve replacement parts and the use of a torch.

The chromes dont go with the black tires. Also, I know you do alot to your cars but isnt this a little high for a 2009? Was that roof dealer added, I never saw one like that. Was this a 1 owner car? Did it come from an auction? Very different looking Cadillac, wont see one like that. Same steering wheel as my 09 Impala.
I won’t say I’m the cheapest, and I’m not the highest. I try to build value in the cars by making them turn key. That comes at a certain premium. Dealer added roof yes along with the gold. One owner car from Sarasota Florida. Yes sold through Adesa auction right in Sarasota as well.

I do but this car had extremely deep rubber that was near new. These DTS I can go either way. Town cars, they come standard.

I wouldn't buy any vehicle past 7 years old. Many auto parts companies won't even have parts. With the pandemic that is a big issue now. I bought a Cadillac Cts new in 2013 still operates great. Steers like a Ferrari.

Brakes were original, fronts were low and the rears were built up with rust from lack of use. Tie rods had some play they told me, so I just had them done.
