    Seriously, you’re one of the most talented guitar players I’ve ever heard. To be able to nail the tones and playing styles of all the great guitar players takes a tremendous amount of practice and skill. I honestly hope that you will have the platform to showcase your talent to the world.

    Dude...I can't wait to hear your music...you have the feel and technique of the masters. Randy, Eddie, Yngwie....they were great because they found their voice, spoke through their instrument. Excited to hear what you will do with such gifts and abilities....

      I find this comment sad. Or maybe you’re just very young. 😂😅Because those are the silliest comparisons I’ve ever heard of anyone. It makes me wonder how you could be so far off. But I do imagine most people don’t recognize, or can distinguish, the greats from the really good. And that’s OK, it’s music. And people have their opinions, and favorites for different reasons. 😝🤘🏻🎸

    Great playing as always. I’d like to see you incorporate some of the sections of the songs that utilize arpeggios when you’re playing some of the Yngwie stuff though.. Just curious to see how you play that style.

    • @JacobDeraps

      Thanks! Love the scalloped fretboard, very unique and fun to play, you can really dig in on the notes and that allows for aggressive hammer ons and vibrato, it feels very « free ».

      Nothing like Eddie! 🤣
      I don’t know what that was. Couldn’t really tell if he was any good at first, then I heard some dynamics. 😝🤘🏻🎸
      Sometimes people mix up tones when somebody is playing cover songs. At first, you might think it sounds like Yngwie’s tone. Then you realize, it doesn’t. He is just playing Yngwie songs, on a Strat, going from the bridge to next pick up. 🤘🏻🎸

    How do you get such nice tone throw a single coil,

  • @TruthSurge
    @TruthSurge 2 роки тому +1

    hmmm tone isn't really there but close. I'll See The Light Tonight doesn't use hammer ons for the intro like you did but sounds like you have a bit less gain going on than Malm and a bit more fuzz than he has in his tone. His is not really just a marshall sound but something more midrangy and less fuzz on the very top end. But nice to see someone doing the notes clean and correctly. Just he picks the intro above, not hammers/pulloffs. nice playing!

    Hi @deraps I am curious what is your take on hs3 vs yjm pickups? since with new yngwie guitar you cant get em, from videos HS3 seem a bit more articulate(less compressed, am not sure how to call it) than YJM, there is also theory you roll YJM a bit and you get 100% HS3, and they are the same. Can you share your wisdom ? :D

    • @thealecwilliam
      @thealecwilliam 22 дні тому

      IMO, having never owned Fury pickups, but lots of DiMarzio and SD singles and stacked (in very many different guitars), I have a 40 year old Yamaha with an Area 58 neck, and Area 61 bridge (Area 67 middle - irrelevant). I'll venture to say that that old girl does classic Yngwie better than one of my other strats loaded with HS3s.
      One must not be intimidated by a cranked out Marshall, there's all kinds of sweet tones up there. Good vibrato and clean picking will get you very very close.

    Would not one need a DOD overdrive pedal in front to truly capture the Maestro's tone?

    • @JacobDeraps
      @JacobDeraps  2 роки тому +3

      Not necessarily, he didn’t use it all the time. He does on most of his solos but not on his rhythms and not on all of the leads, you can hear on the albums when it’s on certain tracks. It adds warmth, sustain and a bit of distortion but the heart and soul of his tone is the Strat and the cranked Marshall, and of course his playing.
