The “Duck” he’s using on tour is the Custom Shop replica. You can see the Fender Custom Shop stamp on the back of the headstock. Of course he wouldn’t take the ACTUAL Duck out on the road anymore.
The energy from this guitar tech is insane!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@Radiohiljaisuus wow,hole lotta uptite dksssss.
Looks like he needs enough sleep
Knowing how Yngwie rolls he's probably only getting minimum wage.
@Radiohiljaisuus I bet he doesnt pay them much
Brain like a Zombie 🧟♂️
That’s not the original Duck…you can clearly see the custom shop sticker on the back of the headstock! It is the replica one that Fender did some years ago
Good eye. I noticed the same thing when the tech showed the back of the guitar. I remember seeing an interview with Yngwie from 1995 and he said he retired The Duck around 1993.
He’s been offered 7 figures for the original. No WAY he’s bringing that on the road. Good eye
@@joeylodes id give him even less money than a non ingvey
@@Ottophilwhat?
I saw his very first tour, no one knew who he was, there was probably 25 people at The Newport in Columbus Ohio, this is still one of my top concerts due to the fact there wasn’t many people there at all and he and his band let loose. Billy Shehan’s “Tallis” opened.
I saw him in Dallas Texas at his first tour as well at the Arcadia Theater..about 100 people tops were there..it was awesome seeing him right from Sweden just ripping it neo-classical style as its been called before.
@@rosskrause3926 when I say let loose, he was throwing his guitar about 10+ ft in the air and playing a solo while catching it, during keyboard solo yngwie came up behind him a dumped a pitcher beer on his head… they were doing all kinds of wild stuff like that throwing pitchers of beer around off the stage it was crazy
Friggin’ awesome!
How many picks does Yngwie go through in a show? This guitar tech is the hardest working dude in the business, he keeps refilling the guitar picks throughout the show..wow.
Glad I needed some pep today, thank you guitar tech for all that energy!
The roadie is like..i dont wanna be doing any of this. Lol
kkkk
That must be the job from hell. Didn't want to answer the questions wrong and feel the wrath of his master. All the best in the future tech man. You seem like a real nice guy, but there's only much harmonic minor a human can take!
Man, to have even one of those Marshall heads...
Obviously not everybody is comfortable being on camera, especially when they are in the middle of doing their job. That was extremely cool of him to take time to make this video.
Great job, John and Zach!
Most of them are completely empty of any elements and electronics. Would look cool that way too though, that's why they are there!
"can I hold that"... "no"
lol, yep. I was there..."Don't even look at it."
Yeah that part was cold
I totally agree with Steve. I don’t want anybody dickin’ with my prize guitars if I’m not there…
@@arthurmurfitt7698 the man literally throws his guitars around on stage and rips the strings off at the end of the set. I don’t think a guitar expert holding his prized guitar is a big deal especially when said UA-camr is giving Yngwie a new audience.
@@michaelsj7968 - but they are his guitars, he makes that choice. I would never let a stranger touch my guitars when I'm not there, and I'm nowhere near Yngwie. Those are his tools of the trade, he doesn't want people touching his stuff.
It's awesome you got this level of access. Little bit more of a rig "run by" than a "run down" but super cool none the less.
One thing I respect about Yngwie is he actually plays the signature guitars. I mean real Signature, not Custom Shop versions.
does he really play his new signature guitars? his guitars are old strats, sounded much better than new ones. Ive seen a guy on YT comparing his old original guitar (that Yngwie sold in 80s or 90s) and sounded much better than any new signature strat.
@@antropomorfizacja I just think the old Strats are too valuable to take on the road and beat them up when he's happy with the signature. Yngwie is known to be very harsh on his guitars.
I don't think that's the original Duck, it's probably the replica that Fender did a few years back.
I agree, I think you can see the custom shop logo on the rear of the headstock
@@ruicarreiro7539 Yes, there is a Masterbuilt decal. So it's a replica.
This is a great video I’m lucky enough to have seen two of his shows one recently amazing video keep up the great work !!
He’s the Elvis of guitar players
That man has a hard job, Yngwie exploded if guitar has toned wrong.😱😱😱
We love the king of neo classical DiMeola ish style.
Strat/overdrive/cranked plexi = secret sauce as far as sound for electric.
Put in the 100's of hours to develop picking and you might get close if you want to clone.
Develop your own sound is key, we all have something to give.
Amazing video ! Thanks for posting it !
wow, yngwie should show us more closely how he use this "bass synth" pedals. That seems crazy
He just (ekhm...) plays bass note and improvises over it. This floating note is sth like a pad sound to fill the background of his solo.
Got to say John & Zack, liking the run down, u guys get around, thanks 4 all the vids so far, not biggest fan of Yngwie, but everyone in music have their style, give gred to Steve man can't tell all secrets about his job and he's a good roadie, U try catching flying Strats With Broke Strings!!Oww! My Eye!!!
Done subcribe. Its good to see all his guitar works
Wow....feel the energy
Thanks for the video! Did you get a chance to find out what his guitar setup is? Anything of that matter?
I saw him a few times in the 80s. His playing is still top notch but to me his best songs were on Odyssey with Joe Lynn Turner. Yngwie singing reminds me of when EVH sang on that one album.
G3 was also the first time I saw him live. 2021 was the first time my son got to see him. Hoping the man is still going at it when my baby is good to go to concerts, I’d like him to see Yngwie too.
I didn’t get to meet the guitar tech and talk to him but I got to meet several of the road crew. It was a blast. Marvelous time and they really were great with my son. My plan was to take my new YJM strat to meet the man but it didn’t arrive in time :(
Nice to win that guitar!
Good stuff!
Glad I found your channel! I subscribed instantly!
Plus it sure would be nice to win that awesome Les Paul!
Great vid ... Thx ...
Nice wide angle camerawork - felt like I was really there!!
Great upload!
Where's the fucking donuts?!!
I am honored to find your channel I subscribed because I love ❤️ your content great job your friend Dreamer
That was real , great stuff
Sorry guys...your legend was touring bars in the early 90's (seventh sign album)...(considering he was just rehabbing carpal tunnel THEN you are lucky he still plays...although not as well as he used to.)..and I remember the Rising
Force album...WE DIDNT KNOW WHO HE WAS AT ALL (I was 15 then...I am 56 now) and we had to get stoned as hell to even understand what he was doing...it was so new...it STILL TOOK A FEW LISTENINGS TO GET IT AND HALF WAY LIKE IT!! Honestly you have no IDEA what it is like to listen to something SO TRANSFORMATIVE FOR THE FISRT TIME!!! (Everyone wants to think they understood it the first time...but it was so new...YOU REALLY HAD NO CLUE what you heard...it was so fast it took several listenings to get it ...SERIOUSLY!)
Very Cool. Awesome.
awsome dude
Guitars are thrown through the air… “I don’t want to get in trouble if you touch his guitar”
Damn that show was in St Charles! The Arcada is an amazing theater.
Let’s also be clear that it was not the original Duck strat but a Custom shop copy. The custom shop symbol on the back of the headstock. Screen shot and check for yourself
Yngwie J. Malmsteen Greece & Serbia!🔥🎸
This guy seemed really happy to be doing this for yall

Is the green lp give away contest still on
YM must keep Steve on his toes all night. Good job guys keeping it short and out of the way for the busy guy.
That tech wasn`t feeling this rundown =D =D
Excelent wouuu

The duck is bad ass!!
Love the broken string
That dude is RRREEEEAALLLLLYYYYY laid back. 😂
His tech works as hard as his Boss plays. Awsome
This guy should’ve starred in the movie “There's Something About Mary”.
Can you imagine this guy walking into the room when Ben lost his spooge?? lol 😆 😊
I sub'd I want that green LP. 😂
Back in the 1990s, can't go into too much detail due to confidentiality, I did see Yngwie's gear pass through a border point. He had multiple large bags of plectrums. I couldn't even estimate how may he had on hand, it would have been hundreds. He was touring with only one Marshall 50w head plus his effects rig, and probably 4 guitars, all the other stuff you see on stage is just a backdrop.
No...he was in bars then and NOT touring as much gear at all...(I saw him then...he had just had Carpal Tunnel surgery and was suffering for a while)...
@@timothymartin2137 Yes, most bands back in 80s would appear with this huge backline but in reality were only actually running one, perhaps two heads through a couple of cabs on-stage. Mostly their live amps weren't even in the backline, they were off-stage to allow the tech to make adjustments and fixes if anything went bad. If you ever see the video of Judas Priest at the Us Festival back in the day, you can clearly see they had just one Marshall head each hooked up behind the wall of cabs and amps on-stage. There's exceptions to this of course, but for many touring acts it's just an image. Sometimes the heads are just shells, sometimes a few cabs will be used as fold back monitors.
True...but to be fair Yngwie is running a ton of them onstage when he can ( he is one of the exceptions)...but logistics and career are what they are and he hasnt ALWAYS HAD THE LUXURY of getting what he wanted (he was definitely sacrificing during his Carpal Tunnel rehab period I was lucky and saw him twice in two years at a bar I frequented in Winston-Sa;lem NC and Greensboro NC the following year (the bar had two "Branches" and Yngwie did both ))...small venue Yngwie is amazing and he does flip a ton of picks to the audience...I had three for decades...I played and wore them out and he is why I play HARD picks to this day...although it was his bass player that flipped a Jazz 3 into the audience....which is what I settled on, Yngwie uses very thick fender type picks (the normal looking ones...just VERY THICK...like 3mm thick..big white ones with his name, although that wears off very quickly with play...LOL...my bad, BUT, I have been happier with the discovery of hard picks though...that was a revelation and has served me well to this day ) @@MichaelSorensen-bl3ec
@@timothymartin2137 Yes indeed, since I tried using thicker picks I've never looked back. The thin ones just feel like they are constantly trying to play catch-up. I remember being surprised at how high the action was on his guitars. That too was a bit of a game changer for me. Highest action I ever saw was Ronni LeTekro from TNT. You could serious drop a pencil between the strings and the fretboard and not touch either of them, just insane. Can't understand how he can even get it tointonate, let alone play so fluently like that.
He is what he is...a freak of nature...thankfully so!!@@MichaelSorensen-bl3ec
Yngwie dont like rosewood?
Why does nobody ever ask about his speakers? Does he still use G12T-75?
Yes he does

Nice to see the Donald Duck Strat up close, thanks for the video.
Unfortunately not the original- it's a Fender custom re release
@@chrismemphis8062 lol “pay no attention to that man behind the curtain” 😉
How can u tell? What’s really real these days…smh
Makes sense though, I wouldn’t want to take my prized strat out on the road either…
@@arthurmurfitt7698 The Fender custom shop sticker on the back of the headstock gives it away It is a replica one that Fender custom shop made that Yngwie even thought was genuine ua-cam.com/video/TYz-M6e7t9U/v-deo.html
@@arthurmurfitt7698 on the back of the headstock, you can see a marking towards the top-end of it. That's the custom shop decal, suggesting that this might be the replica fender made in 2008
👍👍🤟🏻🤟🏻
It's a beast for shore itself !! Lol, in multiple ways "i think malmsteen must be very humble with his roadies"🤡
I was at this show lmao
What happen to Kenny, his former guitar tech?
Caught with 🍩 and executed.
I get the feeling no one wants to be there except you.
Tech 100% doesn’t want to be there
Plus it was after the show and he wanted to get the f out of there… 😉
love this technician: he seems to be tired, doesn't give a shite on the guitarist's things. He s just there for the money. Yngwie is terribly tiring for humans. lol
He didn't answer how many amps actually are plugged in xD
And any other possible questions. Difference in amps, guitars, pickups, when to use which pedals in what settings.
One amp with two cabs 😉🤫
It,s the custom shop Duck! Not the original.
Ferrari !!!👍👍👍👍👍😜😜😜😜
Awesome questions- too bad they weren't really answered- "how many amps are actually on?" no answer- Amp Settings' - no shot of the actual settings... Also- that 'DUCK" is the Fender Custom Shop version- awesome still- but not the original. The scallops are a bit deeper and you can see the Custom Shop logo on the back at 6:34. Honestly I don't think the tech knows much about Yngwie or he's terribly stoned- he didn't even know that was the Custom Shop version etc.... weird all around- but still a cool interview.
I think it was just a matter of not being prepared. I mean he obviously knows a few things, but he wouldn't be able to reveal stuff that will break the image.
🆒💫🎵🎶🤟
I met YMJs guitar tech and that wasn't him lol
I never understood why people won’t let others hold their guitars. I mean I do but get over yourself. Hahaha. Luckily I haven’t worked for those kinds. If someone wants to hold a guitar have at it.
You give it to them to hold and it turns out they were eating pork with their bare hands the mere 5 minutes before, or had their index finger scratching their anus itch somehow, and that is when they don't interpret it as "sure, play it as much as you'd like, Paganini", make it all out of tune, then get a pick in their pocket so wore out that it nicks the strings and when you actually get to use it, the string snaps in the most innapropriate time and you're left wondering if it was because of that little f*cker. So, NO. I completely get it.
I respectfully disagree. A guitar for some is a very personal item. And I I don’t like people dickin’ with mine.
Not even sure it’s the original the duck…but who knows other than yngwie
Is it me or didn't he have enough Marshalls on stage?
You can't be nothing but the best to run with the best.
If you were such a big fan and didn't know he plays bass pedals while soloing I doubt you are that hard core fan you pose as.
Dear Santa, please let me win the guitar! Lol! Super channel guys!
a LOT of coke in that moustache Steve. It’s not the 80s anymore
This guitar tech is so full of energy and really seems to love his job......not!
Should’ve asked if Yngwie still eats a box of donuts before each show.
I bet his guitar tech is the life and soul of the party...
If you’ve ever been around Yngwie you’d know why he’s so on edge.
The word for the day is stiff.
Malmsteen! Come to Russia 🇷🇺 with concert
The Duck not original
