@rosesallotmentadventures9365 aaaw I'm glad I made your day ❤️ thank you so much for the inspiration. I have just filtered lilac petals from oil I did 2 weeks ago, it smells beautiful so now I'm looking for containers to make lilac moisturiser 🥰 Thank you again 🥰🥰🥰
Something I found out when making lip balm (similar process, melt together equal parts of beeswax, shea/cocoa butter and coconut oil, add essential oils or others) is that, if they took too long to cool down and solidify, the texture would become a bit granular. Since I noticed it, I let them cool down outside or in the fridge, that way the texture is nice and even.
I made this over the summer and it is awesome to have. I shared some with my friends to try. We all agreed that it works. Thanks so much for this video.
Hi Lindalee I'm thrilled to hear it has helped your back. I was the same at first. Isn't it nice to know we have a completely natural product that can help us?! 🥰
Living in China the last twenty years, you know spring is here when you the older people are out on any peice of grass with a knife and bag pulling them out. The roots are good but bitter, delicious dipped in some fermented salty bean paste, the leaves eaten the same way, or dried and used as a tea for antiinflammatory, but the Flowers never used. The locals get curious when I'm picking the flower for dandelion wine. It's funny to think there are places in the West that you can get fined for having too many dandelions on your lawn, when in fact it is such a useful resource.
Excellent in a rue . Add bacon bits and a few drops of vineger. Delicious. Add your dandelion leaves . Smaller leaves are tender n tasty . Full of vitamins
A friend made me some of this - I have RA which is painful and disfiguring. It helps me tremendously, I hope your Mum used it and had good results as well.
Mine turned out great! The oil and flower mix smelled funny after 2 weeks. I added some vit E to preserve it...... But after adding some Cedar Leaves and a dollop of Vapo-rub to my ointment recipe, It smells better!! 4 part oils, 1 part beeswax from some old candles, a spoon of coconut oil, heat until melted, and jar! Im so proud of myself. 🙃
My great-great grandfather would make wine out of the dandelions, so I am told! Thank you for this easy, helpful recipe. I can't wait till it stops raining so I can pick & dry some dandelions for my own salve. Thanks & love from New York!
Dandelion wine is on my list if I can find enough dandelions that I wouldn't be stripping the place! I hope get a break in the rain soon. Morning is the best time to pick 💚❤️💚
My dandelion petals have been rendering for almost a week and I will be purifying some beeswax over the weekend! So excited! My first attempt at an all natural pain remedy. My thought on the dandelion harvest..... find flowers away from any well traveled roadway(toxic fumes from vehicles and pesticide sprays). Thank you from Outer Banks, NC.
This was a very good informative video... I am happy, and grateful there are teachers out in this world to help other's who are not informed on how to make these remedies to help the hurting, and those of us who chose not to use straight pharmaceuticals.... Thank-you from the bottom of my heart to yours... May many blessings come your way.... 🥰🌺🌼☀️🙏
We have a field of dandelions and love them with teas for your hurt throats, tincture even tortoise food but this is something we can use for us thanks
It is my 66 year birthday. I found this early this morning. I have sweet almond oil I got for myself months ago. Following your directions now. Thank you so much. Blessings. ❤️🙏🌻
My garden has been filled with dandelions this season! They generously offered themselves to be picked for me to make this. They sat for 13 days, and smell amazing without any added essential oils. I used soy wax in place of the beeswax and added lavender, lemon and few drops of tea tree oil! It is absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for the inspiration and easy recipe ❤🌼
Will be making this for my mother she just got out of the hospital her arm is so swollen and bruised from where they drew blood she asked me to find a salve that would help but be gentle on skin.
Thanks so much for vid! Just watched vid on how too make dandelion Jelly, which l'm giddy to try. Being middle age, suffering from severe, bone twisting types of arthritis, due to yrs of so called "dr's medications", l can appreciate & prefer "Natural" remedies. l collect my petals, as the sun is setting, when the flowers that were opened that day, begin to close. When collecting, grab end of petals & give gentle tug. lf it's ready, petals will easily come out of flower head, without seed &/or pod, leaving seeds to naturally re-seed. lf not using immediately, l'll dehydrate. 0r, I leave them overnight, in a warm dry area, (warm oven), on a sheet pan, or some type of container that let's me spread them out. Thanks again!
Your voice is so soothing. (You should read bedtime stories for those of us who have insomnia.) Thank you for the lovely video. I think this was the most calming video that I've ever seen and heard. Bless you.
This is so interesting. I didn't know that dandelions were good for making a salve for arthritis pain. I just started growing comfrey so I can make some comfrey salve in the future, but now I will be trying dandelion salve, too! There is certainly no shortage of dandelions where I live.
Hello Rose, I made your salve. It made six 2oz jars. I was amazed by the instructions you gave. They were just right. It has helped my dry hands. Thank you for a quick and easy video to follow. It was fun to make as well. I had to listen and watch several times to make sure I got it right. Others who tried my salve thought it was amazing that it was easy to make. Hopefully, they enjoy the salve as much as I am. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

@@rosesallotmentadventures9365hello, I wanted to share with you what I did and it turned out great. I went out and picked more dandelions. I did two jars. I made one with grape seed oil and the other with avocado oil. Both did very well. I gave some to some friends and they liked it. The avocado oil was a bigger hit. Grape seed oil took a little longer to soak in, like the olive oil. I enjoyed trying out your recipe. Thank you.
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 My oven goes down to 170. I use it to carbolize pot. But it can't be in longer than 50 minutes. Should be fine for the dandelions. But, if someone was worried they could do ten minutes at a time in. Then remove let cool a few and pop back in.

Hello ,I have made yarro salve with great success . I will ; I hope to make Dandelion salve . This is easier being that you do not have to simmer ,steep the yarro 4-6 hours before cooling to congeal . Thankyou , Clayton ..
lovely recipe, thank you. Make sure the mixture has cooled down a little (but not setting) before adding the essential oils to retain their medicinal properties.
We made it last year, we’re on our second batch. My daughter uses it as a facial cleanser every night, she rubs it all over her face and then gently wipes it off with all the dirt on her face, etc. and then that leaves from moisturized instead of using water in harsh detergents.
I have heard of dandelion flowers being good for aches and pains. But I have never tried it. What a simple recipe. Thanks for sharing your video with all of us. ❤️
I I one quart made and another waiting for my attention. I ended up with 16 tins from one quart. I used coca butter for mine, plus I made 8 with lavender and 8 with spearmint . Once they are completely cool then I’ll start making the second quart of dandelion oil, which I’ve already drained and sealed . But looks like I’m back at it again
A bit of vitamin E oil helps to preserve natural made products. I would have kept the lids off for the night. I wish I new how to make the labels. This is a new salve I’ve seen made, very interesting and well explained!
I put a dab of sea salt in my salves today preserve them. Keep in fridge anyways. Castor oil is wonderful for joint pain all by itself. It does eventually go rancid if not in fridge though
My brother picked the dandelions and they're soaking now. I will visit next weekend and make the salve with him at my moms house. We'll come back to let you know how it worked out. I can't wait to give it a try.
Thanks for the recipe🙏🏼I have ordered the ingredients already and will start to gather the dandelion flowers as soon as the sun shines again ; it has been raining here in Austria since weeks.

If you want to dry the petals without it running to seed pick the petals out as you did. Put them in a wee organsa bag, and put that in the dehydrator.
@@louisegogel7973 organsa is a fairly delicate mesh type fabric. In North America it is a popular choice for bridal veils and little bags to pack makeup in.
The reason for using dried herbs and flowers is so that the infusion won't go bad so easily. Introducing water to the infusion invites bacteria and such to grow.
Stinging nettles are good for arthritis too, you could add them to the salve as well. I have so many dandelions in my garden right now, I've been wondering what to do with them, got a few plans so I might try this. Also I heard you can dry the flower petals in a low oven with the door open slightly. I'll try this method too. Thank you ❤
The sting from stinging nettles is very good. I know a few people who run their hands through nettles for relief. If you are drying in the oven, heat it to it's lowest setting them turn it off before putting the delicate petals in
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 yes definitely the sting helps with pain relief. I actually bunch them up in my hands. At first the sting is a little painful but after a few minutes your hands get numb and the pain is significantly reduced for many many hours, sometimes till the next day even. Used regularly is even better. I also treat my back pain and sometimes sciatica also. Make a bouquet of nettles and gently swat the painful area until there is no more sting and the nettles are limp. By not using gloves you're treating your hands at the same time. As a former dancer i suffered from many muscular pains and strains. I've been doing this for over 30 years at the advice of my great aunt and i find it helps me much better than the creams from the pharmacy .
@Polly Jazz that sounds amazing, I suffer with arthritis in my spine and fibromyalgia, not sure I can pluck up the courage to sting myself on purpose quite yet though. Great advice though. Thank you 😊

excellent recipe, thank you very much, I'll surely try. I make a recipe with olive oil, beeswax and lavender oil or the 31 herbs krauter oil, and it is excellent too for the skin. Thanks!
I have been wondering where i could get a natural remadey for my arthrites thanks! Sorry for my spelling mistakes, never was much good in that department.
I dehydrate mine because I’ve encountered mold during the infusion process too many times. I don’t get the bold color of fresh but it still gets the goodie out of it. Thank you for your video!
Just had a big Dandelion season … as it’s ending I find this recipe. 😂 Looking forward to trying this, but may have to wait until next season. I found the flowers easy to remove from the greens by clipping off the very bottom with scissors, then unrolling like you did. Flip it over, ( from one hand to the other, ) and it’s quick & easy to pick the rest of the greens off. 😊 ( remember to wash the scissors when done, they’ll be sticky )
The dandelions here have done really well too. I'm glad you found our other recipe to try next year.... Next year I may do dandelion wine if I can find enough clean dandelions 😉 Thank you for sharing your method of removing the petals, it sounds very efficient 🥰

Thank you so much for coming back and letting me know you made it. I'm so happy to hear that it is helping your pain. Best news of the day❤️ 🥰❤️🥰❤️
@rosesallotmentadventures9365 aaaw I'm glad I made your day ❤️ thank you so much for the inspiration. I have just filtered lilac petals from oil I did 2 weeks ago, it smells beautiful so now I'm looking for containers to make lilac moisturiser 🥰 Thank you again 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you I will try this since I am in pain 24/7. I can't take much medication for it. If it works it would be a game changer for me.
Bless your heart Pandura, I really hope this helps you find some relief. Chronic pain is terrible to live with
Something I found out when making lip balm (similar process, melt together equal parts of beeswax, shea/cocoa butter and coconut oil, add essential oils or others) is that, if they took too long to cool down and solidify, the texture would become a bit granular. Since I noticed it, I let them cool down outside or in the fridge, that way the texture is nice and even.
A great tip, thank you 🥰
I know the intention is to only use the petals. But if a little bit of the green goes in, is that a problem?
@@7cjaceves Idk, you might want to ask as a top-level comment though
Shea butter gets gritty if heated high temps. I melt everything else then chop up and stir shea butter in the melted oils and butters. All smooth😊

Hello Lindalee
Thank you so much for your comment. I'm so happy that you made it and it has benefitted you - and your friends.
Made my day 🥰💚
I actually made this and put this on my achy lower back and I could not believe it actually worked right away. Thank you very much. ❤
Hi Lindalee I'm thrilled to hear it has helped your back.
I was the same at first. Isn't it nice to know we have a completely natural product that can help us?! 🥰
I also have an achy back. What would you compare it to? I have plenty of dandelions and I'm just learning all of the uses for them. I will try this.
I picked up a french press & used it when I strained Calendula.
I eat dandelion leaves and occasionally the flowers with my lunch.Free veggies!
Perfect 💚
I'm so pleased this helps you. My mum loves it and so do I 💚
Excellent timing. My back garden in full of Dandelions at the moment.
That's the same thought as me last year!
I made 2 cups worth...its on my counter drying right now. I only had lavender oil for scent. I love that its easy to do.

I am going to try this. Both my husband and my sons have joint pains and arthritis and hope it does help them all. Thanks for such a quick recipe!
I hope this helps them, please come back and let me know how you get on x
That's a great way to collect them. Dandelions are a wonderful natural remedy and resource 💚

A perfect use for them! Comfrey is on my to do list when my plant has regrown a bit more.
My husband killed my comfrey as it was spreading so much.
Lovely....less chance of spoiling if you pour the oil right to the brim.

Grape seed oil took a little longer to soak in, like the olive oil. I enjoyed trying out your recipe. Thank you.
You could put the flowers in a dehydrator to dry them out
A great idea. I'm aware that most people don't have a dehydrator and wanted to make this recipe as accessible as possible 💚
@@rosesallotmentadventures9365 An oven as low as possible also works.
@@simon-515 I do mention a low oven in my other videos where I talk about my dehydrator. I wonder if they would go low enough for delicate petals.
@@simon-515 it is a handy function. Some modern ovens here in the UK even have a dehydrator function, but some older ones don't stabilise that low.

What is an organsa bag?
@@louisegogel7973 organsa is a fairly delicate mesh type fabric. In North America it is a popular choice for bridal veils and little bags to pack makeup in.
The reason for using dried herbs and flowers is so that the infusion won't go bad so easily. Introducing water to the infusion invites bacteria and such to grow.
That is correct 😊
