  • Here's a quick review of the Bosch 10XC table saw. Watch this before you buy the Bosch 10XC. This is currently one of the most expensive locally available table saws in the Philippines today - but is it worth it? Here are my thoughts. #DIYweekends

    You do have to spend some time setting the saw up... blade, fence, etc. But once done, the saw is great. Fairly compact which is Nice ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxXh-4_3-ZT1fFWP91ZV7iVqzElr0lEb-a I did get an Incra Miter Gauge which takes some setup as well. The stock miter gauge can be adjusted in the miter slot with a little painter's tape... this tightens up the side to side play a lot.

    Even though you're in the Phils, I appreciate your willingness to do these reviews in English. Seeing as I'm a foreigner living in the Philippines, it helps me greatly when assessing our choices here. Thanks for your efforts!

    Are the gears for changing blade height and angle still the plastic that like to wear out after a year of hard use?

    I have just purchased this saw. I have worked with the festool table saw. It has the same problem with fence alignment when you move it . For a high end priced saw and they are very good you still have the same problem. When you might be cutting a very expensive piece of wood. I think it would be negligent not to check all is good before you make that cut.Nobody wants that sinking feeling. When you have made the wrong cut and very expensive mistake just because you didn’t check ?

    Hi there. The stock blade looks premium. The blade shipped with the 10xc in South Africa is from the Bosch budget range.
    Very unfair 😂

    Nice.. In Malaysia, we don't have good one like this or on the Dewalt also. What we have here is a less good compare to this. Dont know why. Maybe the prices.. For 700 dollar, it should be reasonable price

    Wobbly fence = no fucking way. Thank you for this.

    • @a0flj0
      @a0flj0 11 місяців тому

      Fence isn't wobbly, once it's locked. It's only easy to get it locked in place in a position not parallel to the blade. But once you get the hang of using it, this becomes a non-issue. Unless you want to do cabinetry on it, it's more than enough. You usually don't do cabinetry on a construction site, which is what this saw is made for.

    I am currently choosing between either the DeWalt DWE7492 or this saw. This saw had the induction motor, unlike the DeWalt. However having to potentially check the fence for square every time i move it will be a PITA, and for cabinet making i can't afford errors. Also, the fact the mitre slots are not standard is not very helpful. I like the idea of the sliding table, but building a sled serms much better.
    I wish there was a saw with cast iron top, induction motor and DeWalt style rack and pinoon fence, but alas this just doesent seem to exist, atleasy not below £1000, or small enough for my tiny workshop.

    • @ReVerthex
      @ReVerthex 6 місяців тому

      I have this saw and the fence can be fixed easily by added a bearing on the rear on the fence where it locks on the outfeed side. Doing this stops the back dragging and pulling it out of square. There is actually a hole for a screw and bearing already so I'm not sure why it doesn't come standard.

No 800 dollars is not easy for me to come up with but I am a strong believer of you get what you pay for.if there is another saw out there with the same qualities or better please lete know I would love more info before this purchase.

    I HATE the fence system on these types of saws. Like you said, you never know if it’s parallel to the blade, and having to check EVERYTIME is not even worth it. Sometimes I make millimetre adjustments and having to recheck it every time is just dumb. The sad thing is there’s only two companies making rack and pinion fences, and that’s Dewalt and Milwaukee. Just bought a new Dewalt table saw recently and it wouldn’t even start. Had to return thar Dewalt garbage. So Milwaukee is the only brand which sucks because their stuff is insanely overpriced.

    • @a0flj0
      @a0flj0 11 місяців тому

      I don't have this particular saw, but the fence is pretty much the same kind on all such Bosch saws. IME, it helps if you just push the fence towards the table, at the locking end, before locking it. It's IME within a few tenths of a mm max. deviation over the entire table length. That should be reasonable for machines in this class.

      Those are forbidden in Europe - considered unsafe by regulators. I don't know about other markets.

    This is a great review and I'm very close to buying this saw. I don't see the sliding left table top side as a listed feature though. Is that something you have to order as a special feature or is it an add on? Thanks.

    • @VincheroKarpintero

      @@VincheroKarpintero I may contact Bosch directly, because if so I will buy one. From what I can tell in looking at the Bosch 4100's that are sold here in the U.S. this isn't an included feature. It is very cool. I think it might have violated some kind of UL safety guideline because I found posts about an older Bosch saw that had this.

    • @bernarddouthit4647
      @bernarddouthit4647 2 роки тому

      @@VincheroKarpintero I just talked to Bosch Customer Service and they confirmed that this version of the 4100 XC with a built-in crosscut sled isn't sold in the U.S. I've also read posts about there being issues with the crosscut side not being even with the right side. Still, if I could buy one of these I would. How much do they cost in the Philippines as I might be interested in having you buy one and ship it here. You could start a business ;).

      This is the comment I was looking for. I watch a lot of woodworking videos and if I am ever watching one that is in Europe it is because I love their sliding table saws. Ever since seeing them I have wanted to have that scaled down and in my small workshop for under $1000. I was so excited when seeing this table saw initially but was quickly confused when finally seeing it on Amazon seemingly missing the sliding crosscut feature.
      The sliding feature is the only reason to buy this so that makes it a no go for me, especially with that poor fence design. However, if you are still looking check out the Evolution RAGE5-S table saw. It has a sliding crosscut feature and you can purchase it in the US however it does appear to be of cheaper build quality and I don't necessarily believe in Amazon's review system.
      If I didn't finally give up finding my ideal table saw and just upped and bought the DWE7485 I would have went with the Evolution.

      @@matthewhall9692 That’s a great saw - DeWalt makes great products. I bought the thickness planer. As for saws, I got the Delta 36-725T2. It is beefy - 220 lbs, but I like it - and the fence is a Besseamer - the kind you see on SawStops. I almost bought the DeWalt as it has a ton of great features.

    At 0:48 / 4:45 I see a tread screw from blade and judging by it short length DADO blades are not possible to use with this saw? No way that bolt can fit DADO..

    Bosch table saws are not good enough to use on anything close to finish work. They're heavy/sturdy and well-built, mobile stands are the best in the market hands down. The fence is the most important component and falls short of the DeWalt rack and pinion fence system which is simply the best design for portable saws.

    • @a0flj0
      @a0flj0 11 місяців тому

      The fence isn't as much of a problem as the review made it out to be. There's a little trick you have to get used to: push the fence into the table before locking it. Then it usually aligns itself perfectly - or at least as good as you'd expect it from a portable table saw. IME with different machines from Bosch but which have a similar build of the fence, within a few tenths of a mm over the entire table length.

I have now had 2 of these in 2 years, the first one Amazon refunded instantly ( I think they knew there was a fault) and they no longer stock the model I had. Plastic screws and lifts. In 2 years I changed interior pieces 3 times. And it just broke down again. Worth is 0. Not to mention the awful gaps. Ill never buy boach again. Highly recommend makita.
