We got ours last October 2023. Sadly it conked out yesterday, February 5, 2024. The armature assembly got burned. We usually used it for plywood and softwood such as ecofor. We were ripping 2x4 ecofor lumber to size it down to 2x2s when we noticed smoke coming out from its motor. Hopefully Skil Philippines would address soonest our concern upon receiving our inquiry. This review nailed it for us to get one among other reviews we watched since it was launched. Overall, it is a great table saw.
Wow, such a great review. You covered everything accurately and got right to the point without wasting the viewers time with fluff. I wish more reviewers did this. Thank you for respecting your viewers time.
the reason they have to add fluff is because your video needs to be 10 minutes or longer to get paid or to run ad's... at elast thats what ppl have told me.
I just got it, and honestly, I love mine, easy to use, very user friendly, almost ready to use out of the box. Just needed to check for 90 and honestly I barely had to make adjustments
Just bought this table saw in Norway. It is my first table saw. Thanks for your review! I love that this saw is positively reviewed by people from around the world!
I just received mine today from Lowes and have to say I am impressed with the little table saw. I had a very large Delta that I gave to one of my son-in-laws because it took up too much room in my small shop, but the Skil is perfect. Great video and thanks for taking the time to do a well-thought-out review.
Great review for this saw. Appreciate all the info in a succient amount of time. You didn't keep me hanging for 20 minutes and still unsure how I felt about it.
Like i said sir VK... I read about this brand SKIL. Way back year 2020 when the pandemic started.. SKIL brand build in 1924 by sir Edmond Michel.. the 1st circular saw they introduce in public was in 1937.. and it is model 77.. the most inovative circular saw that they produce..i have a SkiL tools a handplainer but unfortunately i plug it in 220v.... cuz. Came from US and its 110v.. anyway goodluck to the winner... thank you sir vinchero karpentero. Giving the other to improve their skills and talents... godbless and more power to you and your fam....
The foldable legs are perfect for those who don’t have their own space to make their project or to those contractors that needs a handy table saw onsite. This is the perfect table saw for me.
Nice! Panalong panalo yung Foldable legs and easy storage sa accessories. Most of all Rack and Pinion. Panalong panalo to, kung afford lang sana. Ganda , panalong panalo din yung dust extraction sa balde. Ayos na ayos to para sa katulad ko na nasa open garage at tamad mag kabit ng vacuum
Started out with the smaller DeWalt 10” job-site saw, then upgraded to the Delta Contractor saw for my garage shop. Loved the Delta but it was a pain to move around with the poorly implemented drop down wheel up front. Ended up downsizing my shop and just picked up the skil saw yesterday and will be putting it into service today. Was looking at the beefier DeWalt but at $650 dollars versus the $280 Skill that had the majority of the same features, it wasn’t a tough decision. Great review!
this brand is somehow classified as budget in our country compared to lets say, milwaukee, makita, hikoki AND even dewalt(which i have always myself considered budget compared to previous mentioned(i own several Dewalts, and love them)). but i think skil is pretyy much up to par to all brands i have mentioned. in the end it all comes down to what your personal likings are. i use makita's all day at work(im a carpenter), but my personal favourite is milwaukee, and hikoki. at home i use my dewalt(mostly tablesaw and i love it) and AEG drills along with a 12v ratchet wrench from milwaukee for working on my cars..... and a cordless drill and impact drill from milwaukee.
Understand before buying that you are trading precision to get an excellent set of performance, safety and usability features. My fence isn't quite vertical, and the table is slightly cupped across about 8 inches centered on the blade. The stock miter gauge reads out 46 degrees when set to 45 degrees, and its contact face isn't square to the table either. None of those are dealbreakers for me and after a month of use I think this was money well spent. Remember the warranty is only 1 year unless registered within 1 month of purchase.
Kuddos to SKIL for the adjustable leg for uneven floor, the wingnut that allows for easy adjustment to make the blade parallel to the miter and the safety feature of the riding knife if not returned properly.
Wow... never seen such a great explanation for anything ... you hear it, you see it, and you learn how to do it.... very logical, straight to the point.... wish you great success with your channel. 🎉
Really appreciate your review, particularly the sound comparisons. I haven't seen anyone try to compare the sound to other saw. I just purchased this saw and was surprised just how loud it is. In your phone meter testing, it looks like the SKil is actually slightly quieter than other saws. Were you using the same phone in all those tests? It looks like you might have a new phone for this video.
I was using a Samsung Note 4 on the other table saws and a Samsung Z Fold 4 on the Skil so, yes, I was using 2 different phones to record sound levels. You are right, adding that other variable probably affects the results of the test.
@@VincheroKarpintero No worries! I was just curious. You're still one of the few youtubers that have actually measured the sound! In your opinion, did it seem like the Skil 6307 was much louder than other saws? It's not really a big deal but that was the first thing I noticed about it.
@umfan526 in my opinion, the Skil felt roughly the same as other corded table saws I have tried but substantially louder than my cordless brushless Flexvolt table saw.
You’re the first person to pout out the tooless adjustment of the blade alignment. That’s pretty tricky. But does it misalign easily? Is it something that needs to be checked regularly when it’s NOT being moved from site to site?
I actually had to purposely misalign mine just to have a reason to play with it so based on my experience, I would say: no, it does not misalign easily.
For me as my hobby to make DIY i like that table saw because a lot of features like adjustable blade and stand, and low noise also someday i will have that too for my DIY incubator anyway I'm from philippines i hope you will notice me sir. God bless!
I wonder if the resellers of this table saw purposely raised the price because of its features, it is without a doubt competing against DeWalt and Bosch's table saws. It would be the best "bang-for-the-buck" job site saw if it was priced how it is 10 months ago because I bought mine for 17,800 here in Iloilo City, I checked the price today and it's 22,500. Surely inflation wouldn't cause a price increase that drastic, right? Anyway, you may have forgot to mention how compact it could be considering it has foldable legs unlike the DeWalt and even Lotus' where (unless you'd like to work on the floor) you'd still have to carry a stand. P.S You can 3D print the plastic gears which is 1. Cheaper than metal, 2. Wouldn't rust, 3. You can choose your gear ratio be fine or coarse. Love your vids, cheers!
Skil are so underrated but they are ahead of the game, I believe they came out with a right angle impact long before Milwaukee did and stole the limelight as being the first.
Table itself needs to be made of a different material, the weight of the saw causes the plastic table to saga bit causing the table to not be flat entirely
I'm hoping to buy this saw when it's no longer in stock since it's sold out, I wanted to ask you, do you think there would be no problem installing a soft start module? at least that since I think the electric brake is more complex and it is necessary to know if they could be installed
Every review I've seen has claimed the opposite. Every review I've watched claim the guide is perfectly square. But even if it wasn't the ability to easily calibrate it yourself is built in. That's something a lot of the saws in the same price range do not offer. If you are interested in this, I don't know that you can beat the quality and features for the cost. This will be my next portable table saw unless something comes on the market that can beat its features for the same money. If you are looking at this saw and are unsure about grabbing one, just look at how many reviews you have seen saying how good it is and trust them.
@@genesishep I believe he means, if you lay a square on the table with the blade pointing up, put it against the fence, it is very slightly off. I just checked, and mine is as well. Not really an issue unless you are cutting with the thin part of the wood on the table, and the long part up in the air, like for a tenon. I may make an adjustable add on fence for that purpose. Great saw, especially for $400. Will it last a lifetime? I doubt it but for four bills I can afford to buy a new one in a few years if the plastic parts wear out. I actually think someone is making metal replacement gears, think I saw them somewhere.
I always lube any exposed plastic gears/screw feeds and mechanisms (in pretty much anything I can take apart) with a silicone based PTFE (teflon) lube... extends the life and also operates smooth as silk with less effort. want less friction on the table or fence, rub it in like car wax/polish. Don't use it on the blade. the silicone basically evaporates so it doesn't collect crud like using any kind of grease. PTFE dry lube sprays/liquids work too but usually end up sprayed/spilled all over the place. edit: I bought this saw for all the reasons mentioned. $279 black Friday at Lowe's made it a no brainer buy for DIY.
Very good review. I've been eyeballing it for a while now as my travel saw to and from the job site. Personally I can't stand rack and pinion fences though and wish people would quit pushing them. They feel cheap, move way to easy, the gears go and make them unreliable and the Dewalt ones I've used have just been absolute pieces of garbage. I know there is a lot of love for these things and I know I am in the minority, but I'd rather just live with a good tried and true T style. But the T Track on the top of the fence is totally useful (currently have it on my main saw which is an old Ridgid R4517) and I think is the most underestimated feature out there. It means you can hook up all sorts of anti kickback features up which on the jobsite for me is an absolute must So many other good aspects too, I think I'll compromise and still get one. I have enough reward points at Menards and am in need of a new job site saw that is more compact, light enough, and strong enough to do the job.
there’s an inherent flaw, that all these jobs site saws have. and i mean all of them. DeWalt included and i can guata that Skil suffers from the same defect. this is cheap motors the use. specifically, I’m talking about the armature, that has lateral movement. dull blade, sharp blade, it does not matter, you’re not going to get a smooth fintino matter what you do. i’ve tried an $80 blade, brand new, with only 0.002” runout…..nothing doing. saw mark’s all over the place. i had to move and was forced to get rid of my hybrid/cabinet table saw, and there’s a HUGE HUGE difference in quality and performance. another thing about job site saws is that they move, they might not move much, but they move. i can’t stand it. between the saw marks and the moving, the $400 or $800 isn’t worth it. if you’re in the mark for a table saw, get yourself a nice stationary tablesaw. PERIOD.
Nice TS. Pero nakuha lang nila sakin yung adjustable na blade alignment niyahahaha. Joke only. But seriously, I did that adjustment on my DIY table saw, I think about 6 years ago😊 ua-cam.com/video/JlSZyIl5-mQ/v-deo.html
For me, I think there are 3 reasons why I like the SKIL table saw. First it's adjustable leg, for uneven floors. Second it's Wingnut to pivot the blade which other tablesaw don't have. 3rd and final thing I like is its elbow dust port. If you don't own a vacuum yet, you can put a bucket or make your own DIY dust collector.
Just got mine a few weeks ago. Love it! Skil has made a couple of improvements in the last year. The provided throat plate is now metal instead of plastic and the riving knife is now totally removable. There may be other small changes but these are the ones I noticed right off. Highly recommended for any DIY.
All been discussed clear of what to expect on SKIL table saw. Seems its lightweight as seen on the opening of video. Foldable stand is an advantage and the adjustable footing for the uneven flooring for a more rigid position. But what catches my intetest is the tool free calibration made easy feature, specific to the blade calibration to be parallel to miter slot. Though its corded it is still admirable at it its cost
I picked up this awhile ago and it has been great, easily the best value by a long shot. It's at least as good as the Dewalt, but also better in some ways, such as having a standard sized miter slots (don't think the Dewalt has this, the older model definitely didn't), and the comparable Dewalt (the 10") is twice as expensive. I believe it also has more infeed space than the Dewalt too, which is preferrable since you can always add a table behind a saw, but you can't add one in front since it restricts access to the power button/adjustments. Squaring it up was easy, but the fence was out of plumb with no way to adjust.. or so it seemed. I folded up a strip of a standard sheet of printer paper and shimmed under the fence on the right side on both sides, and now it's perfect. Glued the paper after that and it's no longer an issue. I personally think it's more than good enough for hobbyists to build some serious furniture as long as you replace the clearance insert, which is flimsy plastic and will sink down in the center with the smallest amount of pressure. The insert is of course fine for a job site and general use, but will not be so good for precision work. I got a set of four very solid zero clearance inserts (the Skil ones are the same awful flimsy plastic, do not buy!!) for $30 from some guy on Etsy, so as far as I'm concerned, aside form its size, it's about as good as any cabinet saw when properly calibrated/accessorized.
Use the allen head bolts along the fence rail to adjust the fence squareness. Loosen the bolts that your fence is riding on and use a square to set the fence so that it is square to the miter slot, then tighten the allen bolts down.
@@BIGplanetLife Thanks, but the issue with the insert isn't whether it's level or not, but that the plastic is thin and flimsy, allowing it to sink down in the center when performing any cuts with pieces that are smaller than the insert. Unfortunately there is no easy solution to this besides replacing the insert, although it may be possible to modify the stock insert with a few slim metal bars. I think if you cut grooves into the insert in areas where they will not obstruct anything under the insert, you could insert some bars and fasten them with some super glue or epoxy to stiffen the entire insert.
are these made in the same factory ?, just checked out the new Evolution r255 TBL table saw and it is identical , except for one point , the R255 has a sliding table section
When I first started out as a carpenter i was advised to buy the Skil , Skill saw , it cost 99 pounds , 64mm cut , came with a fence and a tilting bases to 45 degrees , its made of plastic very light and strong . I bought it in 1994 and still have it today and it works just as good as it did when it was new , what I like the most is how light it is because i can use it with one hand if i have to . Im a huge fan of Makita machines they are the best IMO but I wouldn't but one of thier Skill saws just too heavy for my liking.
So far the best powertool review i've ever watched. Cguro dahil sa ganda ng features ng TS at sa pagiging pogi ni VK! Bekenemen! Ano po ser mechanics?😁😂✌️
Great Re4view I only wish I could buy this saw here in Europe. The adjustable blade angle wing nut is the winner for me.Obviously designed by someone with their eyes open who knew where they were at ;)
d kaya boss dahil sponsored video eto? hehehe. anyway, been eyeing about this table saw until now to maintain the red army although its not Milwaukee but still red.
Is it asking too much to put the exact model number in your description and a link to the exact model you were clearly paid to promote!? Get a clue and get real!
Had this saw for a couple of years now and it’s awesome. For the price, nothing else comes close to it. My only main complaint is the fence… it isn’t straight end to end. It’s got a very slight concave bow in it. At least mine does. The middle of the fence bows away from the blade by 0.01”. And while that isn’t a huge deflection, it matters. It’s impossible to get a perfectly straight cut using it. Solved it easy enough with a longer MDF fence I made to fit overtop. And pretty much any DIY or hobbyist like myself will end up doing that anyways with any saw so it’s not a deal breaker. Could be a no-go for a jobsite application though. The throat plate is also utter crap. Thin plastic that deflects easily when cutting thin stock. And unless you got a CNC, it’s hard if not impossible to make a zero clearance insert for it. There are a few channels that need routing out for it to fit. Luckily there is a guy that makes them, and they’re not expensive. He sells them on Amazon and Etsy, 4 for about $60 or so. Just search on YT or Amazon, he’s the only person making them so it’s easy enough to find. His channel is called CNCDesigns I think. And they work great. At the end of the day it does everything that the 10” Dewalt does, at 1/2 the price. I’d recommend it to anyone without hesitation. Just make sure you make yourself a better fence and insert for it. 👌
I agree with some commentors, great amount of useful detail in the shortest amount of time. Us DIYers, we want to learn quick, then get out there and start working. Thanks for the great review video! And as of Feb 2024, this saw is $299.

According to my experience any saw is good, point is power , fence, price and point of sale, this is similar to bosch 254 saw .
This skill table has the best fence design I have ever seen. It's ashame this table saw is not available in Australia.
It could be improved by adding a way to calibrate it. There is no way to make it square against the table.

the rack and pinion, price and calibration possibilities is what got me, now i just have to get i dirty and look old before the missys sees it..
Mukhang magaan nung nilabas mo sa shed. This is a nice table saw.
I'm torn between 3 options, either this Skil, the Metabo HPT (basically a hitachi competitor/clone of the Dewalt), or just getting the Delta 725t2
Ooooh... the Metabo HPT is sexy. They don't have it here but if they did, I may have gotten that one too.
It's nice saw, no dought. It has an adjustable blade angle . But I like my DeWalt for less money.
Bought this unit a year ago. Have not regretted it yet. Nice little saw.
Thank you, it is good and informative review! :)

Can this saw use a dado stack?
Yes.
Im torn between this and Lotus
the dado set for this is 8" not 10" i believe.
I’m pretty sure dado blades are always smaller than the maximum blade size. I love my Skil table saw and the 8” dado I got from Freud.

But the T Track on the top of the fence is totally useful (currently have it on my main saw which is an old Ridgid R4517) and I think is the most underestimated feature out there. It means you can hook up all sorts of anti kickback features up which on the jobsite for me is an absolute must
So many other good aspects too, I think I'll compromise and still get one. I have enough reward points at Menards and am in need of a new job site saw that is more compact, light enough, and strong enough to do the job.
wow
Ito na sana bibilhin ko dati kaso 👎 cla sa after sales kaya sa waltde Ako sumugal
there’s an inherent flaw, that all these jobs site saws have.
and i mean all of them.
PERIOD.
May nanalo n po b kahapon?
Nice TS. Pero nakuha lang nila sakin yung adjustable na blade alignment niyahahaha. Joke only. But seriously, I did that adjustment on my DIY table saw, I think about 6 years ago😊

😂😂 this dude is a joke 😂
very nice table saw! great features and the sexy strong legs wow :)
What model is this?
Just got mine a few weeks ago. Love it! Skil has made a couple of improvements in the last year. The provided throat plate is now metal instead of plastic and the riving knife is now totally removable. There may be other small changes but these are the ones I noticed right off. Highly recommended for any DIY.
I received the same table saw, I called skill and we received “version B” compared to the previous “version A”
What’s the model number please

All been discussed clear of what to expect on SKIL table saw. Seems its lightweight as seen on the opening of video. Foldable stand is an advantage and the adjustable footing for the uneven flooring for a more rigid position. But what catches my intetest is the tool free calibration made easy feature, specific to the blade calibration to be parallel to miter slot. Though its corded it is still admirable at it its cost
You sold me. Will definitely be getting this within the next week, thank you.
@@ibtarninegood call on stiffening the insert. That’s got to be doable.
are these made in the same factory ?, just checked out the new Evolution r255 TBL table saw and it is identical , except for one point , the R255 has a sliding table section
This is a serious review. Thanks a lot,!
Sir, great review. Which is this model?
Model is TS6307-00
@@VincheroKarpintero Thanks
Hi, is this table saw compatible with power supply of 230v 50hz
When I first started out as a carpenter i was advised to buy the Skil , Skill saw , it cost 99 pounds , 64mm cut , came with a fence and a tilting bases to 45 degrees , its made of plastic very light and strong .
I bought it in 1994 and still have it today and it works just as good as it did when it was new , what I like the most is how light it is because i can use it with one hand if i have to .
Im a huge fan of Makita machines they are the best IMO but I wouldn't but one of thier Skill saws just too heavy for my liking.
This one cuts up to 90 mm, they made quite the progress over the years :)
Anyone but one of these in Canada? Can't find a store that sells them. Canadian tire says they are discontinued.
No wheels to roll it around on? Already a loser...
So far the best powertool review i've ever watched. Cguro dahil sa ganda ng features ng TS at sa pagiging pogi ni VK! Bekenemen! Ano po ser mechanics?😁😂✌️
Any idea how much it weighs?
is there dewalt model that is better?
no wheels its a looser …. thumbs down amigo
Great Re4view I only wish I could buy this saw here in Europe. The adjustable blade angle wing nut is the winner for me.Obviously designed by someone with their eyes open who knew where they were at ;)
The Skil 1340 AA can be purchased in Europe, at least here in The Netherlands.
@Lennart1995 Yes, I was wrong to think it was only available in the US.I was able to buy one here in Portugal .Excellent machine
I didn’t I got one and love it
What is the model number?
Mine died in 9 months
d kaya boss dahil sponsored video eto? hehehe. anyway, been eyeing about this table saw until now to maintain the red army although its not Milwaukee but still red.
Is it asking too much to put the exact model number in your description and a link to the exact model you were clearly paid to promote!? Get a clue and get real!
dude shut up lol
Maganda nga mga feature nyan. At meron ako nyan. Alalay lng sa paggamit. Walang overload protection. Wala dng mabibiling armature nyan incase masunog.
I just purchased this table saw for $299 from Lowe’s. Came ready to go, no adjustments needed. I have been using it right out of the box for finish carpentry.
