- Today AD takes you to the Flatiron District in Manhattan to tour the mansion-scale loft at 6 West 20th Street. Located in the heart of the city just moments from Madison Square Park, this 4000+ sq. ft residence makes the perfect base for palatial New York living. The 110-year-old building off 5th Avenue underwent a gut renovation, bracingly bringing the interior up to contemporary standards of luxury (and then some.) A personal elevator opens onto a living room with 12’ ceilings and windows that bathe the space in light all day while the chef’s kitchen and spa bathroom elevate even the routine to the sublime. To fully escape the rush of midtown, pop into the quiet and peaceful secret library - an ideal spot to wind down your day.

when you can't sell it with a view, sell it with its historical value
Yup
You cracked the case
One has got to be very superficial to actually spend almost 10m for random name dropping.
People who can afford this arent watching this wanker with his bon mots such as "frame by a magnificent wall of steel framed windows - this is a design moment that everyone dreams of" ummm no, everyone dreams of floor to ceiling double glazing - not factory windows.
People who cant afford this are thinking - "no way id spend $10 mil if i suddenly came into money - and how could i have 18 people over that wouldnt resent my new found wealth ?"
Crazy Fox
I live in TN just south of Nashville and you can buy houses here that are between 7,000 sq ft and 12,000 sq ft with acreage (25 acres sometimes up to 95+ acres) that are less than $2 million.
the secret library was so underwhelming. it was just a half-filled bookshelf in a room
lmfao fr
@@spaghetti_monster We're interested in architecture... not your delusions of riots in support of your dictator. Protests aren't rioters, and last I checked, conservatives killed 300k Americans so they could keep slaves.... and yes it was about slavery, according to the declarations of secession, Jefferson Davis, and the creator of the flag known as the stars and bars
Books that have never and will never be opened, let alone read.
Spaghetti Monster
Did you really just call the fact that there where slaves lies
@@spaghetti_monster Liberals aren't walking away from the green party..... Oh wait, let me guess, you fell for the lie that the democratic party is left wing... Adorable.
Who the hell knows 18 people?
Me
Joanna Ruth r/whooosh
My immediate family can easily full the table 😂
I don’t like people and definitely don’t want them in my house
thats a good joke ;)
I love the idea of a secret library but I'm confused as to how this is a secret when there's a door haha
And im confused abt how its the tiniest shelf with only 30 books
feels more like an office than a home, especially the "living" area
I'm scandinavian. Love strict lines and simplicity. But for all it it's lavish space, this place feels hostile.
To me the living area looks like something outta a hotel 🧚♀️
A mansion-scale loft with a Secret Libary located near Madison Square Park, which was named after former President James Madison. Sounds like the beginning of a National Treasure movie.
BE C a library the size of a closet.
they say historical... and then proceed to say "gut renovated" like it's a good thing
I mean I also have a secret library but no one's seen it yet...
Turns out I have a secret kitchen, bathroom, several secret bedrooms & a secret media room in my home all hidden behind doors.
The secret is that nobody that lives there actually reads anything but twitter.
Update: this is blair waldorf's 2020 apartment in Manhattan
I thought about her immediately 😳
Yann Bunzll bruh sameeeeee
jules francesca too cheap for her
So now we know where she’s hiding
No lol blair has taste
The kitchen doesn't have a pot filler faucet, so for that reason, I'm out.
HAHAAHA right literally every house they show on here has one
That's the first thing I noticed too when they showed the kitchen!
Haha you could always change or customize kitchen hardware to your own interest if you have 9 million!
i see u watch the sidemen I'm guessing
I know that’s right lol
First time I've heard 'Primary' bedroom since it was changed from master
Hope everyone have their own dream house
Amen
Thanks Mr Stark ☺️
This is my favorite guy on AD. He just has a way with words and real estate
It seems painting and picture graphics haven't loaded yet.
It's probably because they don't have the rights to show the art since they don't own it
They have to blur the art for safety and privacy reasons. There are thieves who specifically target high value houses just for the art.
@@ladydee4692 Its more so to not breach copyright
One of the most important things to me in a home is to be able to see trees and greenery in the windows. While the inside of this place is modern and luxurious, it lacks that organic feel for me. But that's just me. Some people like to look out their windows and see a brick wall I guess.
Same haha But i guess people who can afford that will also have another house somewhere in nature ;) at least i would do That if i could
I totally agree. I’m so excited because the apartment I’m moving into in 3 weeks overlooks a bike path that leads into a park.
This apartment is in New York City 😂
The lack of nature gave me anxiety! It looks so cold like an office building
lmao honey welcome to nyc
I live in NYC and the price per square foot of this apartment is actually great. 9.75/4000 = ~2400 dollars per square foot, while that might seem crazy prices in NYC for new construction of this quality are around 3000+. What might be the reason for the below average square foot cost is the lack of amenities in a loft style building.
To pay 10 million and be surrounded by neighbors and buildings from every angle of this home, NO Thank you!
It's called New York so it's like that everywhere in that city unless you buy the whole building
So then why bother looking at it?
The kitchen is soooo cramped and closed in. Add to the fact that all you can see out of the windows are other buildings and it’s a hell no from me
I think it's better than it looks. But the filming and editing is just so atrocious. You can't get a real feel for the place.
I’ll quarantine in a place like that.
I wonder what it looked like prior to the gut renovation. I love lofts. Exposed brick, high Cellings, big windows, but the rawness of a true loft. Nice but it's too perfect for a true loft
Love that it’s now a primary suite. Bravo AD! It’s a small but significant improvement 👍👍👍👍👍
I love his enthusiasm and delivery!
It a nice apartment and loft but the secret library doesn’t give me the wow factor I was looking for overall the space looks great for an event space but a place to live no
Leonard i would like to appreciate, you use very beautiful words with correct tone that enhances the beauty of property. My great wishes to you.
WOW ‼️ This loft is amazing and breath-taking. I need to play the lottery. That price is also a steal in NYC.
It’s at least tasteful, but for that price I’d expect at least a little bit bigger to be honest.
It's NYC, space is a premium and given the location its not surprising. 4k sq. ft isn't too bad actually.
Also, I think you're paying for the renovation
That's the price you pay for NYC real estate. Imo 4,000 sqft in that area is worth what they are asking, especially with how gorgeous the loft is.
@@kobe1506 Yes, the square footage is impressive and the location is good too. What the agent failed to mention was the view or total lack of. Every one of those impressive windows are looking straight into other buildings nearby - you will need those shades drawn most of the time. Twelve-foot ceilings for a loft is nothing out of the ordinary either.
Still remember his other video...that tree outside of the townhouse in nyc...and remarkable....love his soothing voice.....
Now..back to the video...😍
Real estate agents: Talking about wine
Me who doesn't drink: ..
Poor editor, having to blur out all those pieces of art.
why even do that in the first place?
I noticed that too. I was going to comment on artwork having been blurred out. Is it because it might reveal the identity of the present resident or maybe a copyright issue?
You have to get releases from the artists to be able to show any art pieces. Even goes for tattoos!
@@brantwilliams2464 sounds dumb. If someone bought and owns the paintings, wouldnt they be able to do whatever they please with them?
@@thatxonexguy5438 Yeah, copyright law for art is funky but it's mostly good, it protects the artists. Generally speaking, when you buy a print, or even an original, you're really buying a license for personal use but the artist retains the copyright. So for AD to show the art, they would have to contact the artist and maybe negotiate a licensing fee or risk getting sued. To avoid the hassle it's easier to just blur it out. So even for tattoos, if you see an actor in a movie and they are showing a tattoo that the actor actually has, that usually means that production has contacted, and paid, that tattoo artist for the permission to show it.
Quite liked this, actually really liked this, even though the price is quite steep for the actual size even if you have to absolutely live in a prime NY neighbourhood. It has subdued elegance, and the furniture has been picked really well to look like they truly belong there, as opposed to the usual ‘I just paid a lot of money because I have a lot of money’ vibe that a lot of these kind of apartments are filled with.
Smart design of the loft space, love what the designer did with the old place.
5:08 Anyone else notice the odd ‘The New Erotic Photography’ book in the background? What sort of library is this??
LMAO, I don’t mean this in any sort of bad way. I noticed it and wanted to make a joke out of it.
Outstanding video! 👌🔥 I really live watching your uploads!! Keep it up!
A chef's dream come true? My bathroom is bigger than that kitchen. Geez.
It's New York 🤷♀️
chefs dont want huge kitchens. we like small spaces
I feel that the location is the only issue for that price tag, i know that new york city is close to everything, but this is in between the places you want to be
gallery is great for that wonderful sense of arrival.... when your coming home
imagine being able to even consider purchasing this. what a dream.
For 10 million? Horrible, very dark, and no terrace of any kind.
"A secret library "
Not anymore
Master En Suite: Spa Like, top notch, marvelous tiling
Guest Suite: Featuring Tressemme and CeraVé
It would be nice to live there. It's such a gorgeous space😍
Thank you for sharing.Hope everybody here becomes successful on UA-cam
The decoration of the living room lighting is very beautiful/ 💯
Watched the entire thing even though i will Never buy this
is it sad that i laughted?
You can't even afford your parents cable bill.
I need to tour more places like this!
Hotel and Museum vibe throughout
Excellent loft and location, but 10 mil seems insane for such a relatively small apartment.
This house is gorgeous
The way he speaks makes me wanna buy this loft. 😊
Stunning
Remember one thing, the kitchen in every luxury house is a chef's dream come true.
I love how all the comments on every AD videos are us poories lamenting how we'll never be able to afford these places
Very interesting layout.
I’ll consider this place when I feel like moving into equinox gym
Nice condominium, I like the East indian and quartz kitchen. I like the master bedroom.
Idk what this is doing to me but I want to cry from how much I want to live there
Woahh, nice!
i love the floorboards, very parisian
Amazing
That’s the guy of the nature view! The tree!
That would be my daily workout to walk around my house that far
It's getting hard to tell one place from another, yes they are all expensive & well-appointed but they seem so similar.
Beautiful and great taste. 😃👍
Wow really nice
I get more of a hotel vibe than a homey feeling
Don't you just love ADs?
I’m just laughing about how all the art has been blurred
It's a copyright issue
There is a specific law in the United States, which is pretty much universal on Earth, thanks to the Berne Convention. That law is copyright. You cannot reproduce or create a derivative copy (photograph or videotape) any creative work without permission of the creator. Thus the paintings have to be blurred out.
I just cried in broke.
Unfortunately, it has no balcony/terrace. I think that is a must.
However, it is a very nice home.
No one gonna y’all about how old chum looks home (assuming that’s where he is) looks hella expensive and pretty
does anyone know why they blur out the paintings?
It's nice I guess, but my biggest problem with being in New York is that I felt like I was claustrophobic with all the noise and people. There wasn't much open space and greenery. And this loft, while elegant, feels cold and impersonal, and doesn't seem to have any greenery or nice views.
its beautiful i really wish i lived thee
I wonder what it will ultimately sell for and how long it will be on a the market ?
Very ultra-fabulous. Must remember to use that in a sentence.
oh no look where quarantine has got me.
Tell me more about what sort of people can sit in the dining area!
The blueprint shows another "lift" near the master bedroom...that would bother me too much to have an access point there.
A home in New York that actually has space!
I wouldn’t exactly call a bookshelf behind a door a secret library... but everything else was fabulous
Can we please please please visit KKW’s home, I saw a glimpse of the house in Vogue’s video And it amazed me
Dear AD, make russian subtitles for ur content
it will be incredibly cool if you can
I'm from Russia and and I have been studying English for several years, but I don’t understand much yet
you have russian fans
and if you read my message right now
i really ask you to do it
thank you, you are fantastic
love AD❤️
I'm having a hard time seeing design elements unique to 4000sqft. I'm going to have to update my home because I'm seeing a lot of the same finishes and hardware in this 4000sqft sprawl that I have in my 1500sqft 2B2b
only $9.75 m? what a steal!
Secret library, where no one will find you.
Even if you happen to die there, no one will find you
I would like to place a bid of $20! lol
Thank you, I was about to say that. This place is trash.
Every window opens up to a view of concrete.....and 9mil.... Whoa...
Renovated beautifully but there is this certain wow effect that’s kinda missing for me
..."gorgeous warm northern light all day long"
Which means the bedroom is facing north, so there is hardly any daylight coming in, making it bleak all day long
"pin drop quiet" I would highly miss the sound of rain
1 bed, 1 toilet, 8 chairs and a kitchen without ventilation for US $ 10,000,000 ... Of course, with a secret bookcase ...
Actually, there are 3 bedrooms and 3 baths.
dream home!
I feel like he should have better audio quality for how expensive this place is.
He's having to do this make-shift at home because of Covid most likely. Give people a break. Jeez.
Ashley Arnold wow, I wasn’t hating. Just making a point. I mean good audio quality can be achieved through a decent mic and good audio mixing.
It’s no longer historic inside. They’ve gutted out the character and soul. Awful.
Athough undeniably masculine and tailored, its also beautiful. Its luxe but so understated that the space can accommodate those anti-luxe people. The exception of course are those radically luxe individuals who prefer everything gold plated .
Dont like the color tones of the furniture too much but love the space its well spread out. Would’ve painted the support steel columns black and more pot lighting
Ich warte auf die Reaction bevor ich anschaue 😁
Wondering if/how they shot this with a drone
do any of you guys know if they have a european channel or look at properties in europe? im sure there would be so many cool properties
The blurred paintings kinda disturbed me tho... Is it a copyright issue? If so, why they only censored in on this house and not the other houses?
