SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?! LOL
Lmaoooo right 😂
Too late. I'll take 5.
@@mrconfidential638 Too late. They upped the price after hearing this.
@@northernninety7 too late. I'm already willing to pay the extra cost and the price will continue to sore.
Fr wait until I’m 18
The first gun I bought when I turned 18 was a mossberg 88. That was 20 years ago and I have never treated that gun good because at the time I always expected it to break since I bought it brand new for $99. The joke was on me though cause it has never once failed or jammed!
Same here. Coming up on 20 years for me and it's the most reliable gun I own
People have done high round torture tests on the Maverick 88, bullet proof.
I've treated mine INSANELY BAD.... keeps going.
Mine is a 8+1 combat style and has cases and cases of cheap bird shot through it and hundreds of Buck and slug through it. I also have a moss 500 that I prefer for hunting because of the tang safety. Both are indestructible as far as I can tell.
Mine has been through a few hundred rounds and the only issue I’ve had is a worn out hammer spring which was causing light primer strikes
It’s all Mossberg 500 parts except the safety, receiver, and forend
is the 28" barrel version threaded for all the various chokes?
The 88 is absolutely an overlooked shotgun
I can get em for 200 here in East Tennessee. I recommend having a couple of em for home and truck. They can't be stopped
I vote the CVA`s for best bang for the buck. The triggers are good too. Love this channel!
I have one in 45-70 and it's awesome.
More of this type of video please!!! Your hunting rifle reviews and
I considered the break action cva for my first hunting rifle. But I ended up getting a used Marlin x7 at a pawn shop for about half the price. I don’t regret my decision.
The CVA Scouts are good but its hard to find them for $350 - particularly the .300 Blackout version. They seem to be hovering closer to $500.
I paid 368 for mine in 300 blackout
I just bought an awesome 22. After watching this video, I thought I better tell you that should been one of your next purchases. It is a diamondback side kick. A great camp gun. It is a cowboy style revolver that shoots, single or double action. Great quality and very affordable. I can’t say enough good about it. Your boys would love it. Your whole family will love it. It is so fun to shoot!!!
Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you're enjoying it!
Great video! All of those would be on my list as well. The only gun I was questioning was the Taurus 22. What makes the Taurus better than say the Sig 22 or the ruger 22/45. I ended up with all except the Taurus. I wanted it but the Sig holds more and Sigs all come standard with red dot cut out. The Taurus model that allows for red dot is really hard to find right now unless you want to pay double msrp. I snagged the Sig for like 380$ after tax. Actually went to the store for a completely different gun the Sig cross which your review along with other gun tuber videos had talked me into it, but at the store, they only had the 6.5 I was leaning more toward the 308. But ended up walking out with the Sig 322. The main plus side I see about the Sig is the manual of arms is the same as all their other newer pistols. It’s basically a miniature 320 or a little bigger 365. For training the 322 could help a lot of people.
Here’s a little story about pricing.
Waaay back when, I worked for a GMC dealer when the Denali came out. Listed around $28K for a mid level. The GM rep told me that by the third year of production, the tooling has been paid off, and it costs right at $9600 to produce. But it still sells for, well, by now three years later, $32 K.
Now think Glock. Tooled up in the 80’s. No expensive components. Rediculously low cost high profit plastic. Sells for what, six hundred bucks? Costs less than $40 in materials to produce, another $100 in labor, a bit for marketing, advertising, and shipping. Now what was that retail price again?
That’s why a Turkish company can sell you a nice automatic for $250.
You missed to of the best deals out there, both handguns. First is the Taurus Defender like of revolvers. I have both Rugers and Smiths, I just picked up a Taurus Defender 3", 6 shot 38 Special and can't believe the quality and performance. A 6 shot 3" J Frame size revolver that IMHO beats S&W at their own game and at half the price. Second, the Tisas Line of 1911's out of Turkey imported by SDS. I picked up a Tank Commander 9 for just less than $400. A 9mm 1911 Commander with a forged slide and frame and a hammer forged, RAMPED barrel. What a beauty, G.I. A2 styled and shoots like a dream, very accurate, functions with everything I put thru it in different mags and the slide to frame fit is tighter than my Gold Cup. They have a full sized 5" Govt. Model in 9mm or 45acp for the same price and have a Carry Series with all the bells and whistles including Novak Sights, enhanced grip safety and full beavertail for just $100 more. I can't build them that cheap, just fantastic pistols that you need to take a look at if you like cheap firearms that perform way outside their weight class for half the money of a name brand.
I agree on both counts. Taurus guns in general are a great value. I have a Tisas D10 10mm 1911 and it’s absolutely beautiful and shoots great. Try finding a all steel forged 10mm 1911 with adjustable sights and custom stippling for $750! It’s a great deal.
The Rossi RS22 shouldn’t be overlooked. It’s a reliable and accurate plinker for well under $200.
Only thing I don’t like is the 1/4” dovetail that isn’t drilled and tapped. Not great for mounting optics,.
@@D_Boone
3/8 dovetail. I put a UTG dovetail to picatinny rail on mine with medium rings so it clears the rear sight. I could have accomplished the same thing by using high rings but the picatinny gave me a little more room to adjust for eye relief.
The CVA scout is a super underrated gun … I have many different calibers but the 6.5 creedmore is a tack driver!!! It’s a honest 3/4 moa gun all day (mine is). Around 2017 ish you could get them on gunbroker for 250-275 … that’s why I have 5😂
They were that cheap? I thought I looked at one and it was like 5 or 600 and I figured it wasn’t worth it at that price
I think you are missing out on that Mauser m18 behind you on the gunrack.
I’ve been using mine for a little bit now, and the bolt has become smoother and smoother. The thing groups really well, and it manages comparitive cartrige recoil very well. My light framed 10 year old daughter shoots it very comfortably.
With all it’s features, i am very impressed with the rifle.
Going to hunt a ‘rooiribbok’ with it this year. (Mountain reedbuck)
Im so mad at myself that I didn't buy more than 1 when they were on clearance at Euro Optic, I wish I would have bought a 300 wm and a 7mm
Yep, I have one too. Pretty happy with it. Come to NZ we'll go for a hunt.
$360 for the Maverick 88 in Canada, worth every penny. . .
A Mossberg 88 was my first gun. I still have it, I’ve shot everything through it. Slugs, Buck/bird shot etc. It always goes “bang” when I pull the trigger.
If I’m ever charged by a grizzly I won’t be holding a Hi Point.
Can you look at the Wilson combat super sniper. It’s supposed to be a tack driving AR. It’s on the high side of pricing but I’d love to see more about it! It’d also be cool if you got it in 6.5 Grendel!
Jim, maybe do some content on Rifle options for Left handed/eye dominant people? There are very few options. Just a thought on the content tree. I have tikkas and savages, but they’re typically lacking the modern features that are desirable. G
I believe some of the CVA barrels are Bergara manufactured.
Didn’t Bergera purchase CVA?
All of the CVA barrels are produced in the same factory as Bergara, but they don't do all the same processes on some of the cheaper barrels.
Can you PLEASE do a full review of the Fierce Mtn Reaper? I could really use your help! Thanks in advance, I love your channel!
Another great video! Thank you sir!
Jericho 941 (4.4 inch). All steel. Runs and functions like a CZ Shadow 2 at half the cost. Happy owner of both but the Jericho is a strong underpriced contender if you can find one.
Great now I’m never gonna find the cva scout I’m looking for
This video should be titled proof that shouldn't cost what they do because.........These guns do what they're supposed to do for far less! Some of these companies are just plain ridiculous with their prices. They say they added a process but really didn't because it took the place of another.
If you’re looking for a Semi Auto shotgun Stoeger makes the M 3000 and M 3500. Extremely reliable platform even with birdshot,
It has removable chokes and very solid build quality for $600
Could you please review the Nemesis Valkyrie as a backpack gun option please.
Seems to have some unique features that are appealing but is it worth the cost? Would love your opinion on it and keep uo the great work!
I would add the Custom Shop Weatherby Mark V Rifle to semi-custom rifles that should be considered.
Have had a mossberg maverick since I was a kid in the early 90s. What a gun. I've done everything from duck hunting, trap and home defense with it. I'll hand it down to my kid some day. Best $80 my dad spent lol.
“I love cheap guns” while standing in a room with multiple sig crosses and bergara’s lol 😂
I would like to see a video on the mosberg pattiot lr hunter 308.
I'm sure some manufacturers will fix the "pricing errors" after this video...
Huntin' Grizzly with a Hi-point. What could go wrong? Nice video!
Great video Jim
Thanks 👍
Interesting Review, like Elliott Delp’s channel, always a learning moment
I do love my Maverick. Paid $199 about 3 years ago. I was starting duck hunting in a kayak and didn't want to chance to drop my old favorite Remington 11-87 in the water. 3 seasons of kayak hunting haven't had an issue. Knocking on wood now. Anyway, I do shoot very well with this gun. It is my first pump shotgun, I have always used Semi-Auto. It didn't affect my shooting at all. All cheap guns should be made that well. Hey, I love the channel. Keep up the great videos.
Great video I really like the the CVA Scouts I own 2 of them
I like mine
I like your channel. Could you please do a review on the Swampfox War Hawk scopes. Maybe compare them to Vortex and Arken. Also interested in Primary Arms .308, 6.5 Grendel specific scope. Thanks.
I just got used sako finnbear in 300winmag, barrel has only seen fef dozen shots price was 500 +200 for the supressor attached
I know you don’t do gun reviews a lot, but I am thinking of buying a traditions vortek strikerfire vapr barrel veil widelands muzzleloader and I was wondering if maybe you could feature it in a video as well as the Leupold vx freedom muzzleloader scope I am thinking of putting on it. It would be greatly appreciated.
For a Pistol I love the Bersa TPR9, TPR9c, and BP9cc.
First rifle ever was a 10-22 for $119 at Walmart. A bit too pricey at $389 now.
I keep looking at the P-08 pistol. Nice.
Are they making the CVA Scout in 300BLK anymore? I have not been able to find it.
Ruger 10/22 rifle...the Chevy Small Block Engine of the rimfire world. Can run it from factory box stock to Unlimited Race Gun and anywhere in between.
CVA Cascades are the best bang for the buck and should cost a lot more.
Which planet are you from? Overpayed leftist😂😂😂
Great reviews. Wish a 338 PRC was created.
I got my Mossberg with a field and security barrel for $150 a few years ago. Great steal
Hi, I have a Savage 10 ba stealth 1 8 twist scope vortex viper gen 2 5-20x50 mrad and I am trying to find a guide for making measurements for my long range shots, I would appreciate it if you could help me out by recommending me an app or a website to guide me(I’m new btw)
I would love to see yall review a new winchester model 70
High-point/glock same thing
No guns should cost more than they do lol.
Agree a 100%. Many of them are overpriced
10+ 10/22 rifles and Chargers later and still have not found one to be as reliable as my Marlins. Not even close infact. My last Charger would only run CCI mini mag and only out of the 10rd mags with a 1rd per mag failure rate. That's about the avaerage
I don't agree with your QD Flush cups opinion. But if you had asked the rifle manufacturers to not have any sling mounts on the rifle before you purchase, then you can place the QD Flush cups on the rifle. Or ask them to have it instead.
I have a jxp 10mm and it’s about what you’d expect lolol trigger goes dead once a mag and you’re lucky to get through 7-8 rounds without a stoppage
when somebody breaks into his house 0:03
Would like to see a review of the Master Piece Arms PMR RIFLE
Could we get a review of a Sako S20? You list it as a potential great rifle but say it's a little heavy. However I think the weight is great for a magnum. 7.6lbs for the hunter version
I would put the Ruger American Predator on this list. Every one I have ever shot have been easy sub MOA units.
What caliber is your Fierce Mtn Reaper? How do you like it?
6.5 PRC. Good gun, but I think I prefer the regular Reaper with the stainless action.
@@backfire Thanks for the reply. Why stainless action? Does it feed better or something?
Colts new chassis rifle, just seen it on cover of G&A. Did Springfield Start something or was it Sig?
I've had a maverick 88 for 25 years.. good for everything... ran several thousands rounds through it. never any issues..
Fierce I believe is modeled after Sako 85 ? Controlled Round Feed
Please review the new CVA Cascade XT chambered in 6.5 PRC
My cz 1012 is probably the nicest shotgun I own ,and surprisingly it was the least expensive.
I love my cva scouts, i would like to see more aftermarket stock support for these rifles.
I bought a Franchi momentum in .224 valkery
I have the Mossberg 88. Great weapon
Best bang for your buck firearms!
Howa 1500 is up there too!
what is the red rifle chassis in the background?
I have been looking at buying a fierce mtn reaper for some time now but I keep hearing all these horrible reviews/ interactions with the customer service and even build quality on the gun itself. Anyone have any insight on Fierce?
Overall good video.😊
I wish I would’ve bought all the Tikkas before their value was realized… They’re still a good value but the price has gone way up!!! I promised I wouldn’t allow guns that I consider underpriced to slip through the cracks anymore. Buy CZ. They have great pistols and rim fire rifles. Even their centerfire model 600!!! I like it!!! That’s all I have to say about that.
Please give me your opinion on my "go-to" rifle; and before you even say it, I know that I seriously cheaped-out on the scope (Nikon BDC), and the Tikka Lite in .308. The only thing that was necessary was that it be a .308, like all my other bolt-action rifles. Second in line is my Remington model 7, again with a Nikon scope, but it is just plain crosshairs. Think I'll servive?
Do not underestimate Nikon glass. They definitely punch above their weight class.
For the money, my Howa 1500, Ruger American, and Sauer 100 are very good.
I've had several of those guns... Even the cheaper guns we're made better back then... Nice haircut my friend... High speed... Low drag!
I can’t believe your advertising for Hi Point. Did you just say extremely reliable? I’ve seen many and never seen one empty a magazine without a jam up. I keep waiting for the gotcha.
Just haven't seen this magic reliability everybody talks about with the 10-22. I have seen it in other 22s. Also, weighs a ton.
Hipoints are not reliable according to Honest Outlaw. IMO if you want reliability in a pistol it’s going to be at least $400, you may get lucky and find something for cheaper but usually there is a reason a firearm is on the cheaper side.
Have you found a round at the sauer 100 likes? I cannot manage to get a good group through mine.
In my video review it was shooting decent, but I haven't tried much.
@@backfire can’t wait for the vid to drop!
Can you review the Sako 85 carbonlight
I'd much prefer the Mark IV Ruger to the Buckmark and the FN 502 over the TX-22. I know you're looking at value here, but it's always worth paying a little more for a lot better quality.
Do you currently own a Ruger or Browning .22 pistol?
@@blackhawk7r221 I do n both are superior weapons!! Too bad the Buckmark are no longer made!!!
Here in Wisconsin you can get an 88 for under 200 dollars
Looks alot like my old winchester ranger 120
can you link were i can get a CVA optima for just $200 bucks. $350 is the bare minimum i found it for.
The good ole maverick 88 my go to turkey destroyer
I brought a Canik TP9DA for about 380.00 I'm rather impressed with it. For a gun made in Turkey it's a nice shooting hand gun
Jim, it's BLACK horn, and it's hardly available. Good Vid.
Whoops. Sorry about that. Wasn't thinking.
I’ll double up on the Cva optima
2 white hot pellets
1 power belt 295 grain
And you have just created a round that can lay to rest anything within 150 yards up to a grizzly
Probably could get his attention to
But they can take massive amounts of damage and still run a 440 in a minute or two
And I can’t 😂
$1700....
i see this video isn't meant for me
Check out the Girsan MC 312 semi auto shotgun for about $400.
Will you ever stop posting videos on UA-cam if they keep restricting what you can post? We appreciate what you do. Love the channel
I'm going to post as long as they allow me, but there is SO much I can't say in each video, so I have tons of content on Backfire Plus now.
Well looking for a little help here and the Gun I am looking at buying is featured in the video. So to start I have a anti gun wife, and through much debate we finally came to a agreement m being able to finally own a gun again, but only one for now. For some context, I lived in Vermont and was a Corrections Officer for the State of Vermont and gowned 4 hand guns and 2 long guns. A M&P 40, Smith& Wesson bodyguard 380, a Ruger LCR 357, and Ruger SR40C. As well as a Smith&Wesson Sport 15, and my 12 gage Ithaca Deer slayer feather light with both a shore I believe 16 or 18in rifled barrel and a 26inch smooth barrel. I decided to join the Navy and had to sell my guns as I was moving back in with my parents in upstate New York while i was waiting to ship out to boot camp. thanks to wonderful laws in NY my AR was not legal and I did not have a NY handgun permit. I gave the shotgun to my Dad as the Ithaca is almost a collection item at this point as it was made in New York in one of the last years before Ithaca went bankrupt and the name was bought out and my dad will not give it up lol. And some context with my wife despite her being from the country she doesn’t like guns because she had a issue with the biological father of my step daughters. She ended up locked in a closet while he was running around the house with a loaded 12 gage. This all happened well before I met her. But back to my question I am trying to get some help with. I am currently stationed in San Diego and I am looking into the hunting side of things not so much self defense. Hunting is a new thing for me really, I have gone a few times with my dad as a teen and young adult but non of us had any idea what we are doing lol. I think I have landed on the CVA Scout due to being very affordable and offering a lot performance for that low price. For longevity I think I want the stainless version over the blued. it’s the cartridge selection that I cannot decide on. I am planning on hunting mostly small/medium game like deer sized game with maybe black bear and possibly a few hogs so they are common. I understand what hunting in upstate NY where I am from looks like and I could hunt every single thing I wanted with my 12 gage. But CA i don’t understand and trying to understand it because CA ranges from the hottest desert on earth to the tallest mountain in the lower 48. To the oldest forests in the US. I also have my 15 year old daughter who is a smaller size who is interested in shooting and I am hoping in 4 year old son as soon he can shoot will want to. The 300 black out seems to never be in stock. I think the .25 Whalen is probably way more than I need and expensive. I am leaning to the .243 but I know I will be limiting my options with game. And the .350 legion and 450 bushmaster seem like they could pack the punch but may lack the range I need in SoCal from my understanding at least. I definitely like what I see about the 6.5 but they don’t make it in the stainless steel version only the blued one. This will be my only gun for now till hopefully my wife gets a little more comfortable. I appreciate any one who actually reads this whole long ass comment, I am looking for some help from those more experienced in this area. Most of my knowledge for guns is in the handgun world. Thank you
You can get maverick 88 for 180 at Walmart
I noticed you didn't mention the sig cross...is that because of the safety issue?
@MRBACKFIRE what is that?
Are you starting to lose love for the Sig Cross. I think the Cross is one of the best hunting rifles around. Balanced cost for weight and features.
You should get a gun safe in your gun vault, safe-ception.
The Hi-Point looks like it has a hematoma of the slide.
