Thank you! I just purchased Professional Piano Teaching and Thinking as You Play, due to your recommendations - and put the others on my wish list. Also, I wanted to mention that I just purchased your Intervals Bundle from TPT. It's fantastic!!
Thanks for the reviews! I'm planning to order A Piano Teacher's Legacy! Love reading just a few ideas at a time and applying them slowly into lessons! I wish there was a book on teaching dyslexic students! Maybe there is?
Great! I hope you find it helpful and inspiring. Oh, good call on the book idea. That would make such a perfect chapter in Transformational Piano Teaching, but I don't recall dyslexia being mentioned. Perhaps someone else will chime in if they know of another book that addresses the topic. Thanks!
Do you have any good beginner piano pieces for children to practice chromatic scale passages? We have Pumpkin Boogie, but I wonder what else would be fun to play to reinforce the new fingering pattern here? Thanks!
Oo good question. I've used a song called The Last Star by Valerie Roth Roubos which has LH descending chromatic scales over and over. It's in a book call Four Minature Suites (amzn.to/4dAmG2u). Once students are a little older, there are a few Intermediate single sheets: The Hornet by Judy East Wells (amzn.to/4etwsVt), Tarantella in G Minor by Glenda Austin, and Sounds of Madrid by Derek Vann, which all feature 2+ octave chromatic scales in the RH.
@@TheTattooedPianoTeacher Fantastic! Thank you. I've also stumbled upon an old orange level 3 Bastien solos book with a Bumblebee song, perhaps we'll get to (early). ;) Apparently, there's a different Hornet in the Schaum D book, I might have too, if I look.
This is so helpful, thank you so much for taking the time to put this together! I'm not teaching yet, but these books are going to help so much when I get there!
Second what @writingworks said! Colourful Keys podcast is called The Vibrant Music Teaching Podcast, and Tim's podcast is called The TopCast. And I'll add The Piano Pantry Podcast. I don't know about audiobooks though! If anyone else has any suggestions...I loooove listening to audiobooks (mostly business), but I haven't come across many for piano teachers. Great question
Great! Thanks 🎉
I love your videos thanks so much!
