i lived 5 years in peru and saw a few concerts in that time in peru, chile and argentina and when you was once there, all the concerts in the US or europe are only a piece of shit against south america...^^

That is the thing about metal concerts.. especially true for Iron Maiden.. it is a group experience. It is not just "I paid for this and they are here to entertain me" it is literally a feedback loop between the audience and the band.. each drawing off of the energy of the other in completing the performance as a unit. It is almost spiritual in that sense. I cannot say for rap or hip hop or country or other genres how true that statement would be.. but for metal it definitely is. You can see the passion the fans have and the enthusiasm they show. You can also see how the bands feeds off of this and feeds into this for a shared experience. It is actually quite beautiful to watch... and is quite common in the metal genre.

Not only is Nicko McBrain an incredible force behind the drums, hes also the salt of the earth. A very sweet, happy, and gentle man. He is another one of my inspirations for becoming a drummer.
Nicko has a restaurant in Miami area called Rock N Roll Ribz. Every year around the holidays, he comes down to his restaurant for impromptu concert for his customers outside. Nicko is an awesome dude! You notice that Nicko is always smiling during his drumming

Thank you for pointing out that if people REALLY love music you should appreciate even a genre that is alien for you. Even my father, 80 years old, gets goosebumps when watching this.
Please do Rime of the ancient mariner (live on Flight666), The Tailsman (live at En Vivo) and maybe some Clansman (live at Rick in Rio 2001 - same concert as this)... thats just the tip of the iceberg lol.... great reactions though.

I went to see them in Cincinnati last August, and they are still the best band I’ve ever seen live.
This was 9 years ago. Maiden has come back to Rio a couple of times

I've been loving their music since 1980, when I saw them alive at the first time. After so many gigs I've seen before, this made me sing along again. Poor neighbours. :)
The crowd is always a part of every song Maiden performs live. I highly recommend you look up more videos of same concert. Also any chance you get to see them live do it. Best live shows I have experienced. Been going for last 40 years.
So happy you picked this...my favorite band of all time. They always tell a story...base player Steve Harris is one of my idols and inspired me to play bass. Check out Wasted Years and also some of their older classics....they're just fantastic.
It doesn't matter where or when, or what song, a Maiden live is recorded. It's always the same energy from the band. And yes, they're having fun up there.
This was recorded in 2001 infront of aprox. 250.000 people. The mist you see above the crowd is condensated breath and sweat in the cool Rio night.
I would LOVE for you to watch Flight 666, the documentary about Iron Maiden. Bruce, the singer, is a commercial pilot and so they went on a tour with their own plane that he flew. They went to many countries that tours don't normally go; it shows the hours long military checkpoints people endured in Columbia just to see them live. Bruce is amazing, the band is amazing, and the documentary is so stellar I've watched it at least five times. They took their tour where no one else would, in "dangerous" countries. Truly amazing.

Maiden Family is one of the best crews of the WOrld. Absolutely agree that who loves music knows the feeling with another type of music, I have seen Maiden about 25 times and always is like a new sensation, 2 hours of absolutely hapiness.

Also notice that Nicko McBrain always plays with the left stick backwards to get a deeper and fuller sound. And in the older stuff he was able to keep beats with one kick pedal that most had to use 2 on.
They were the first concert I went to in ‘87 and I just saw them last year. Still put on one of the best shows you will ever see. Every song has a different back drop and stage set up.
My first show was their last show of their World Slavery Tour. Still the best concert I've seen and I've seen a lot. Nicco was at the hotel where I used to work for the NAMM show a couple years ago and he ended up at my station asking one of the guys something. I was doing something so I didn't see him until he started walking away. I looked up and said, "Mr. McBrain." He turned around and I got to tell him they were my first show and thanked him for making a memory I will never forget. He seemed genuinely touched by that. Super cool guy.

Great thing about this band is they were a true grass roots band. They started playing small gigs in london pubs and venues and now they own their own aeroplane, and I don't mean a small private jet I mean a full size passenger airliner, that the lead singer is the pilot of when they fly around the world.

They were way before my time but then I heard one of dad listening to them and I was hooked . If you ever get to see them it’s a must these guys are so professional found out their very passionate about their music . They make sure every song is a journey it’s almost like watching an opera . If you watch Hallowed be thy name from 1983 when it came out and then the version from this show you can so tell they have played it 100's if not 1000's of times.
You should take an evening sometime and check out the full video of the 2008 tour. Maiden's most hardcore fans are all in Central and South America. You won't be disappointed. It's amazing to see. You won't know very many of the songs, but you'll still dig the behind-the-scene stuff and shots of the various countries they visit. Oh, and you will NOT believe the size of the crowd for "Run To The Hills" (Bogota, Colombia)........
