Was waiting for your review!
Thank you so much for making this video!!! I’m gonna order it right away!
I found that if you shade with a #8 bug pin on a 4.0 stroke. It smooths out nicely.
Thanks for review ♥️
Excelente review! Sigue haciéndolo asi de bien.
THANKYOU !!!
Ty for your review man. You really help me. I will take 3.5 ❤
i LOVE Your work man youre awesome!
Thank you!
great review
Great content bro💯
Thankyou!
I have the 3.5 its great for everything!! I also got the 4.0 i have only used it once but feels great for colour work and packs in black nicely. I’m very happy with this combo. Great review as always !
Thankyou , I would love to get 3.5 too !
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo hi what is the difference between the 3.5 and 4? Im looking to buy one but I love smooth transition of shading for realism
@@Sunflower-og1lm the 4 have more power
@@lustlosesymphonie2488 Do youthink the 4 would be good for shading and all that? I heard the 3.5 is too soft.
@@Sunflower-og1lm which style do you use?
Hi Anrijs, I just bought a 3.5 and was wondering... what voltage do you recommend for line work and solid black work? BTW I love watching your videos and really appreciate you sharing your information.
Hey, I recommend you to try it out and see for yourself what voltage works best for your hand movement / style and speed. as it is different to everyone.
Hey Anrijs, thank you so much! We love that you like it. Take care and stay safe!
Thank you !
great channel mate and great review
Thankyou
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo thank you for unselfishly giving advice to all of us
For color packing and shading which one do you recommed to buy? 3.5 or 4.0 please help me 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Nice review mate! My mentor is loyal-to-the-coil, so hes not a big help here, hahah. I use coil myself at the moment. But the wireless concept is too sexy to resist. 90% of my work is old school - faaaaat lines and packing. Now that you have tried both machines, which one do you recommend of this or the flux? Im not rich enough to buy both
I don't think any of those machines would be good for traditional/oldschool style of work. it will be possible, but using cartridges will slow you down. I'm sure there's some traditional artists who work only with cartridges too and do awesome, fast and clean work. but for that I would suggest something more like - Spektra Xion , more adjustable for all styles of tattooing and (you can use with wireless pack too) I'll try to make compare video sometime soon, but performance wise, both pretty much identical (with 4mm stroke)
That's what I was waiting for.got old sol nova unlinited with 3.5mm.sol terra and sol Luna. but my favourite stii sol terra.now itc time to let my old nova and terra to go.i definetly need this.nova 4mm and luna 2.5 is all I need
YEAH , that's a great combo!
It would have been fun to try it.
Hi there 🤘 Thank you for this review. Excellent work as always. I´ve got a question. I am looking for a new machine and I´d like to know if you recommend buying sol nova unlimited 3,5mm or rather Fk irons Xion? I am at the beginning and I love black and white and realistic work. Thank´s for any reply. Take care 👊
I cannot recommend without knowing much about what you prefer / what you like etc.. both are awesome machines. Both will work great for almost anyone I believe, just depends on what you are looking from machine.
I will try to make compare video sometime soon. But I do have videos about both of them , what you can check and think for yourself which one sounds better to you.
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo I know both machines are good for lines and smooth shading too (I saw it in your videos). I´m looking for only one machine for both works. I just wanted to know which machine is appropriate for beginners. I love the freedom with Sol nova (no cable etc..) probably is a winner Sol nova 3,5mm stroke.
What do you think is better 3. 5 or 4.0 stroke, it's my first machine and I am unsafe I would tattooing, black and Grey and traditional art also blackwork but no much colour I am very unsafe what I should take for my style and what's good for the beginning
So glad you're in the UK, will definitely get some work from you at some point, awesome review. 🤘🏼
Thankyou ! Yeah, sounds great, would love to see you for some tattoo in the future!
There is many applications that can show u the speed of the machine any app for guitar tuning on the phone will do the job.. and i wish u used the responsive mode when doing smooth shading to see how much ur shading will be better cz u said its not that much smooth in black and grey.. id like to know wich one u like more this or the flux
There's machine guide to know speed too. what I mean machine doesn't have any numbers or indicator to show voltage. It could be that there's some ways to see it. I'm not really sure how would that work.
but for me it's not an issue at all, like I explain in the video, It's rare when I need to know or care about voltage.
I had tried it on responsive mode too, but I don't use it much as I don't feel much difference for my type of work. but I'm sure many other artist love it!
Do you think you can achieve smoother black and grey shading if you mess with the responsive mode?
I believe this reminds me of how the thunder used to run and I was able to achieve really smooth grays with that
I'll have to try it more to tell. But I think 3,5 mm will work much much better for smooth black and greys in any mode.
you hit the nail on the head at the end of the video bro. I recently got the Acus M1, but with how many different options it has, its really hard to sometimes figure out what works best for what type of tattoo and I find myself messing with the settings constantly while tattooing which slows me down and plays with my head like you said. The Acus is an amazing machine, but I'm not sure if it's for me. On top of that, it has short battery life, and it takes a lot more effort/time to swap the battery out mid tattoo than the Cheyenne machines.
fully agree. I think it's almost like too advanced in technology compare to others, but that's not in a bad way, just not for everyone. I do always recommend this machine for gadget lovers and for artists who loves to take their time and experiment.
great video anrijs we thank you! do you believe i can pack 13rl lines with the 3,5mm stroke length ? but i mostly want 3,5mm because of the smooth shading
Yeah, I believe it is possible, everything is possible. Probably it will be quicker and easier with 4mm.
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo yeah but obviously it wouldn’t be as crisp as doing it with a 4mm. Thanks 🙏
Hi. I got a 4.0 unlimted. Love the design and the feeling of the machine and how you can feel when it goes in to the skin. But am i the only one that experience problem with the handspeed? Its feels So much slower then ex dragonfly, axes, neotat vivaci. Even when im going at 12v. Its works perfect for small details, but i cant se myself doing a backpiece with that machine.
to me speed feels about the same like any other Cheyenne machine. if you're compering to the other brans there will be differences of-course. That's why there are so many different machines and brands.
The way you change the voltage is clever af, very cool.
Yeah, agree!
I have 3.5 unlimited i ordered this cause i like the 3
5 but it can be a little too soft sometimes im hoping this will hit harder for line work and i like the 4.0 stroke for 3rl single needle stipple whip shading work
yeah, I thought 4mm will be much stronger. crazy that only 0.5mm makes allot difference in tattooing.
I really like the 3.5 actually i just feel it would line better with 4.0 that .5 mm more cause more inertia and it hits harder...i lined with 5.0 stroke from bishop that things is super hard hitting.i think stigma is coming out with a wireless pen with a 4.5 millimiter stroke for lining and it has a dual cam system im also interezted in that
Thank you 🙏🏻
Hello can you make goods lines and pack colour?
Hey Ive been following you for a long time bro 🔥 Whats your take on this machine vs the bishop power wands?
Which one do you prefer? Bishop shader 3.5 like Cheyenne unlimited 3.5, and the bishop packer 4.2 vs Cheyenne unli. 4.0 that u show in the video here.
Do you prefer the bishops over the cheyennes or vice versa?
It's hard to do VS as it all depends on personal preferences , style you do and what you looking to get out of the machine. I think Cheyenne is easier to work with. if compered 3,5 I think Bishop is much softer machine. 4.0 /4.2 Maybe around the same, Cheyenne can feel faster a bit, but bishop would be harder hitting , (more for solid work I guess)
I prefer cheyenne, as I'm just more used to it. there's disposable grip options and I have many autoclavable grips to use, so it's easier for me. but past few weeks I've enjoyed to work with bishops too. They also have disposable and extra grip options, I just don't have them , and they're always out of stock. so for me that's an issue if I want to do 2-3 tattoos a day.
Performance wise there's not day and night difference in my opinion it's about the same. really good / quality machines.
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo i feel you. Thats actually my own expectations of the machines too. What you describe about them.
The only thing is that im not sure i could get used to the way you adjust the voltage on the Cheyenne. But i really love cheyennes and i use a Cheyenne Terra now.
And i really would like to not use disposable grips and just wrap instead. And on that point it seems bishop would be better to have in the hand. But yeah its really tough to decide
@@ExpeditionHawk Just wrapping is not enough unfortunately , it really needs to be autoclaved to be sure it's sterile. So either it's dispossable or autoclave. I think that woltage adjustment is easy, especially if you already working with Cheyenne you would know how it feels to skin and it takes seconds to adjust it, I like that feature.
But you can go for bishop, I think you will feel more like you actually got new machine.
Hey there! I like your review. I was wondering, where do you buy your plastic protector? I have mines but they are too small for the machine?
Thank you so much 😊
Hey, Thank you , I don't know what brand are those, studio supplies them.
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo okay still tank you gor reading my comment 😊
Check ebay.it called true gent.mahnum tattoo supplies sells them.itc 6 cm wide.easy to use for sol nova terra and Luna.think I I payed around £11 for 250 bags
@@vadims331 thank you so much! Wish all the best for you 🙏🏼
i love the sol nova unlimited ….
Hey Anrjis, thanks for everything you do as it helps loads to young artists here.
I got' a suggestion for your next videos, some artists will find it useful as the Tattoo world is changing a lot the last decade. The idea is to make a video comparing PROS and CONS of Rotary and Coil machines, there is a whole debate out there and i'd love to know your opinion. Thanks so much, keep going with this channel I just love it. Kind regards from Spain.
thanks for suggestion. While I don't have specific video about pros and cons, I believe in many of my videos I've talked and covered allot about that. also I believe there's lot's of videos and information about it all already out in youtube and forums. Everyone can find it and learn themselves. Good luck to you.
I agree! No one makes videos about pens. It’s very helpful
Witch one do you like more the sol nova or spektra flux??
literally gunna post this question ty @lord Arisenda, yes @Anrijs which do you prefer?
Came here to ask this too
To anyone still wondering. I think anrij doesn’t support fk irons. So thats your answer to that. I maybe wrong. (Take it as a grain of salt)
Dude the voltage adjustment is pure sorcery!
I know. it's really quick and easy to do so ! I love it!
What do you feel about the voltage adjustment? It’s the only thing putting me off to be honest... that and the fixed stroke :/ still can’t de use between this one or the flux since I do a lot of colour.
I explain in this video what I think about voltage adjustment. and I think both This and Flux would work awesome for colour!
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo yep just realized you did right after ai saw the whole video. Honestly I was waiting for your review before taking the plunge. I might go for this one rather than the Flux.
In your opinion what would be the best option for packing colour ?? Sol-terra or sol-nova ?
sol terra will be best in my opinion
Awesome!
Where do you order your cartridges from? I need more but the ones I ordered were shit.
From any professional tattoo supply websites all the cartridges should be great quality. for this on it is from Cheyenne - links to their products is below in video description.
All around do you recommend flux 4.0 or Cheyenne 4.0 looking for reliability and have bit last
I would go for Cheyenne , More simple and does the job. Cheaper battery (if eventually you need to swap them) and no firmware updates/errors etc...
Hey Anrijs have you tried the axys Valhalla ?
I haven't
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo I'm just started out learning how to tattoo,
begins soon on an online course. where it's old school as well as Colour and Black and Grey ind the course
so now I stand and have to choose between the Valhalla orh the cheyanne thunder
Hi Anrijs, does sol nova unli is okay to all kind of tattoo cartridges? Thank You
I haven't tried every brand cartridge. but from the ones I've tried it all worked. I think all the standard shape ones should be good!
of-course best fit will be with Cheyenne cartridges.
Thank you so much sir anrijs! Godbless you
Can you put every cartridges?? Or only cheyenne cartridges???
any cartridges will work.
hello, you use the same mode for lining and coloring ? thank you
Yes, I do everything with one machine.
PRICE????
So which one is better? The flux or the ublimited 4mm?
There's no better or worse. Both are AWESOME tools.
Any machine can be best one for one artist and worst one for other. Same like it is with almost anything in life. All depends on which one will work better for you and what preferences you have for machine.
Hello beast can you tell me your setting with fk irons xion?
I talk about setting in both of my Xion machine review videos, all info is there.
I would really like to know which one is the best to get for some one who is new to this
Most of the machines nowadays are really good.
I don't think there's - best ones. if there would be best one then no-one would use any other machines. All is personal preference.
I'm sure You will build that up over the years and experimentation.
If you do have apprenticeship - then your mentor should be able to suggest which machine would work best for you! Good luck
Not for me I like to know the voltage.
Is that a character from Bobby’s world on your palm?
It's Life with Louie !
Price?
Спасибо, не знал, что есть тачка с длинным ходом, думал новые у них только с 3,5
Yeah , it was 3,5 . but now it's 4 too!
Which is better, this or spektra flux?
There's no way to tell for sure. Whichever works better for you will be better. both are awesome machines , high quality and both are used by many artists who say this one or that one is better.
sir can i use any Panasonic NCR18500A Battery in Cheyenne Unlimited 4.0 tattoo machine?
I believe so, I haven't tried it myself, but that's what it says
Sir, my Cheyenne Unlimited 4.0 tattoo machine sometimes stops by itself while running, what could be the reason for this? What is the best solution?
Hey, could be some loss of connection to the battery. I think on the small cap (that closes battery) There's small metal pins/connectors what touches battery, and they sometimes can bend too much, you can bend them back a little bit so connections is steadier.
But could be something else, I think best to contact Cheyenne or suppliers (where you bought machine) about it.
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo Thank you for the wonderful feedback
@@lokendramaharjan2071 let me know if it works!
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo Thanks and
I had only 2 problems till now when I was working on tattoo, but now that problem is not seen, if the same problem occurs again, I will do as you said and I will tell you about it.
Nice machine man but I like flux and I think flux is better but both are is amazing thank you for information
Both are incredible! Would be hard to choose one. Right now I use only this one as I have extra grips, and can use disposable too. I don’t have extra grips for flux yet, so it’s harder to autoclave , if I need to do multiple tattoos a day.
Yeah , Agree, more Grips are huge advantage for this machine. Really great and feels that everything is finished in this one! With Flux I feel there's more to come, it does work perfectly fine without any app anyways, I don't feel that I need the app. but if there will be one in future , it would be cool upgrade for it for sure!
YES, Agree on disposable grips , or even a second steal grip is not available yet for flux. why I choose not to use that machine that often. Cheyenne is always consistent and same with everything they do, what I love about those machines. I know lot of people say Cheyenne brakes allot, but I personally haven't had any negative experiences yet.
about Flux and all the apps It's possible there would be some bugs with firmware , I think that's why they are taking their time, to make sure it will all be proper once it's launched. And like I mention I don't really feel any need for any update or app. but if it will be eventually out and proper, It can be revolutionary in the industry. We might have problems what we didn't had before, but we will also have so many advantages what we didn't had before. and I do feel FLUX is finished machine as it is, and I love the way it works.
About Xion cause it's allot more adjustable and you can change cams / stroke , needle dept and give options , it gives many options to customise your own machine for your own style and needs, what's pretty cool. I do believe Xion is more like traditional style machine, much closer to coil than Cheyenne machines. For anyone who is used to coils or other rotaries it will feel more familiar. Also it has RCA what's a big plus in my opinion , especially if you also using other rotaries, so in a ways I think it gives you allot more than Cheyenne machine for example.
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo I’m not saying nothing because you’re amazing tattoo artist so yh anything you saying is true i have the flux and I’m just doing black and gray and I don’t have any problems with the flux I don’t care about the app I feel like flux is good for everything and I really like you Anrijs I’m not saying the sol nava is bad is good tattoo machine I know the and I love Cheyenne company I use to have tattoo machine from Cheyenne and I really like it so both is good machine 🤟🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you , it's always good to have different opinions for same things. and anything I say is not always true, probably I'm wrong at many things. what works for me is not going to be same for others / and other way around.
and YES, same about flux, I don't care about app, it works great without it!
How much will it cost ? 😭🙏🏼 I wanna get it
check out prices in their website / worldwide distributors for your country, as it might change depending on currency / shipping / tax etc..
Want a Unlimited or Flux wireless just don’t know which one man ..I line and do smooth black and gray
Both are awesome! I have both 4mm , and I can do black and gray work with them , but both are strong , powerful machines not soft shaders. (but it's possible to do smooth shades with them both) I think you can get unlimited 3,5 what will be perfect for black and gray work.
(but I haven't tried that one myself yet)
Thankyou!
Hello. Excuse my question! I'm thinking about Solnova Unlimited and Flux. I use thin needles from 1 to 3 lines and sometimes clean lines and dotwork. I often do small realistic work. I really don't know what to buy. Do you have any recommendations?
I will try to make compare video soon. but I believe both machine will be almost same for that type of work.
would it not be much harder to work with a machine that constant running ? the grey wash must be blending up to one tone very fast if you dipp between shades and mix em ? cool concept but i dont see how you can even clean them proper when you cant get inside the machine and clean `` most pen style anyways `` and the constant running hehe must be hard
I haven't used pedal for last 5-6 years I think. For me was perfectly normal. I'm so used to constant running machine, can't even imagine how it would be tattooing otherwise anymore. Didn't even thought about it being an issue to someone. I always dip with running machine, and if you need to stop it to change cartridge, it's quick, just pressing button. When Using proper cartridges, nothing really can get in machine.
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo i thought if you dipped from dark to a lighter tone that will mix out alot faster in the ink cups since the needles kinda blends it up in the cup ? but it seems alot nicer not having a cord all over the place . i was more thinking of those videos iwe seen of artists that lay down the cartridge on the hot station , with blood ink n stuff on it . in some cases the cartridges lay ontop of eachother with the needles touching the top part of the other cartridge , would not that follow up into the machine since its the top part of the cartridge that is contaminated . seems little risky
I'm not sure about other artists, the way they work or dipping ink and mixing inside the cup and all that stuff, it works good for me. And worked for all these years, that I never had to even think about it being an issue.
Machine is designed the way that it's safe to use without any cross contamination issues if used the right way. If that was your concern - for you shouldn't be anything to worry about as I'm sure you would use it the way it's designed to.
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo i dont get tattooed by artist using pens hehe , i just dont trust em , been talking to many artist they just spray it down little wipe it off after use . its a great invention for sure but if you cant get inside the motor or inside the pen proper then you cant clean it aswell just my opinion. based on what iwe seen , cartridges ontop of eachother with ink n stuff on it and then straight into that machine
If artist is mishandling their tools, that's nothing to do with what machine it is. if they just wipe their pen machines without properly autoclaving grips and washing everything , they probably do that with all the other machines.
Artists who don't use pen machines are not straight away better with hygiene, most of them could be even worse.
Any machine can have some ink getting on them, either it's coil or other rotaries / pen machines. if handled right way, they are as safe as it could be. I personally feel and believe this type of machine is much less possibility of contamination than most of the other machines on the market.
Maybe they consider to put a click on the grip in the future
Maybe. but honestly without clicking it's perfectly fine, as with clicking grip , every cartridge might need little adjustment anyways. Really rare but sometimes with clicking it can feel that half of the click would be better , but there's no option for that then. With this one you can adjust it exactly how you want.
Hi anrjis, do you think 4.0 mm can do smooth shading too?
yes you can. in my opinion it's easier to do smooth shading with 3.5mm.
👌

Sol Nova or Stigma Force? 🤔
depends what are you looking from machine. many pros and cons for each I guess
@@AnrijsStraumeTattoo you're alright :))
the downside of this machine is the tilting motion voltage adjustment system
if you used to know and want to know exact voltage number then Yes.
I was little bit worried about that too. but honestly I don't think it's that bad, it's easy to control it up and down and machine is really precise in almost any setting, at-least in my work, if I feel it's too slow I just adjust it little higher and other way around.
thanks for the good review. i dont think im gonna get this machine, it is over engineered. they make machine more complicated rather than to make it simple and safety like press button. with this stylesh motion adjustment systm you need to run and tilt the machine in order adjust. how cool the system is but how awkward and incovenient compare to other machine. somehow sometime there is a tendency to splatter the ink and to hit you and your client unintentionally in this kind of system. as i watch your review i will choose and buy fki flux than sol nova unlimited.
