I liked the video. I’ve had this problem with my Wii U for a year and could only find forum posts and pictures until finding this video. Thanks!
Cómo la arreglaste?😢
you are very welcome !! :D
Hello, what is the white gel you are using ? Also did you just dissolved the fuse?
Thx!!
its called flux, the fuse was removed by hot air rework station
Just found your video. Any chance I could send my Wii U out to you for repair? It died earlier this year and I’d love to get it fixed.
yea please email me at kangenandyf@gmail.com for further inquiries :)
what kind of wire do you use, Im trying to repair a wii u as well?
you can use any small gauge wire, even if u have a spare ethernet cable just use a small wire from inside that wire
What gauge wire was used at 6:15?
inside from a single strand of ethernet cable, it is thicker than normal jumper wire but if you use regular jumper wire should be fine also!
Im working on cm9, the 2 pads on the ribbon cable side are showing continuity, is that normal or do I have somthing else going on? The filter has been removed and the pads appear to be free of solder bridging.
it sounds like you may have another short at some place. if its 2 different traces that are shorting to ground that is! maybe send me a photo to my email kangenandyf@gmail.com and i can verify
@SwitchWhisperer thank you thank you thank you! You called it and it was a short, but I'm still going to reach out by email to let you know where I'm at, it's not quite fixed yet.
My console has been broken for the longest time, how much would it cost to send in?
Hello! we do a shipping service just email the address in the description thanks
Hello, I'm using a translator, I'm from Mexico (greetings, by the way), what's the name of that gel you're using?
its called
Flux i use Amtech flux www.amazon.ca/NC-559-V2-TF-no-Clean-Tacky-Flux-Hand-Soldering/dp/B09Y7KF2TM
@@SwitchWhisperer One more question, if I put the bridge above the resistor that has no continuity, would it still work?
@@nasterbc1691 yea just make contact with both sides
How many watts did you use for welding?
i use temp of 380-420
not sure what that is in watts but im sure google would assist in that calculation
@@SwitchWhisperer Thank you, already converted, it gave approximately 40 Watts
How many millimeters is that wire you used to solder in the video?
Prob less than 1mm its from the inside of ethernet cable, there are paired wires and inside those you find very fine wires
I just use whatever i have laying around lol
@@SwitchWhisperer But it doesn't necessarily need to be specifically the Ethernet cable to work, right?
@@SwitchWhisperer lol
@@Cpt2265 not at all just use jumper wire if u have that
What other possible reason may there be if I tested the continuity and found that both fuses were receiving current?
it could be that the disc drive is actually faulty in that case try a new disc drive
I'd already done that and switched the old board out and put into in the new drive, but the error message persisted.
@@lbgamingyt3 yea it could be other board related faults also, unfortunately i never ran into it past this issue. you can always attempt this and replace both fuses ?
Does anyone know where to get replacement fuses for this fix??
I have not yet sourced them as the fix i'm providing IS a permanent solution.
@@SwitchWhisperer makes sense. Any chance ommiting the fuses could cause other problems down the line, like isn't their purpose to protect components from overcharge etc?
@@FrostyBrows I so far have fixed dozens of these over the past 2 years and not one has come back EXCEPT ONE that i mention in the video, it had BOTH fuses gone (leading me to believe there was other issues on the board than just this same fix) so far it seems this is permanent without causing other underlying issues.
Can I get a supply list so I can try it
i didnt replace the fuses i just run jumper wire so soldering iron, hot air, solder, and some jumper wire. flux ofc. otherwise nothing special used
I have a broken wii u with this error. HELP ME!!! My daughter wants to play!!! She is sad at the moment.
Yes I would be happy to where are you located?
email me at the email in About on my page
@@SwitchWhisperer I did. Thank you!!
the problem with mine is when i click power it doesnt turn on the problems i think are either one of these 1. I have the wrong cables in 2. my disc is stuck in the wii 3.my battery is dead.
Try a new power supply
@@SwitchWhisperer It’s working now! It was the plug lol
Awesome!! 🎉
