I'm going to cheat a bit when I say that my favorite song on the album is Climbing Up The Walls transitioning into No Surprises I love the juxtaposition of the two songs being about such serious subjects but sound so totally different from each other. It's like two different approaches to serious subjects in opposite ways, which I think is so brilliantly done.
My opinion, best way to go from here is to listen to The Bends (the album before OK Computer) and then Kid A (after OK Computer) and then go in order from there for Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief, In Rainbows, The King of Limbs and A Moon Shaped Pool. That way you get to experience the progression of Radiohead. Getting blazed helps lol. Radiohead is goated, totally unique and inventive song structures, lyrics and hooks.
There's a really cool live version from Glastonbury England, an outdoor music festival where 200,000+ people were singing along with him for the entire song. The best part was at the end when he's singing "for a minute there I lost myself" the crowd was singing louder than he was.
Exit Music was supposed to be for the end of Romeo and Juliet when they kill themselves. It was the modern version with DiCaprio from the 90s and it's an interesting film.
This album actually helped change the direction that music took and so did the next one, in a totally different direction again. You should be high it makes the album even better and it goes perfectly with a good weed buzz, and mushrooms, holy shit, it's fantastic.
The next album even though it's so different, is an absolute trip, and it would qualify as a real artistic statement. If I were you, and were doing their entire catalog, I would go backward and react to their previous album The Bends. Even though it's more of a "rock" album it has some beautiful stuff on it and is filled with great songs. It's a bit important to try and go in order with them because their sound really changes a lot depending on the album. After The Bends you'll have a lot of fun with Kid A, the album after OK Computer, that album lost them a fair amount of fans at the time. I know because I was one of them, sort of, I liked OKC so much that even though I thought Kid A was weird I bought the CD that came after it to see if it was more to my taste (at the time) and I didn't know that it was the songs from the same sessions as Kid A that didn't fit on the album. So I put Radiohead down for a time and listened to a lot of other stuff until I heard something randomly that was great and when I checked it out I was hooked on everything they did from the Bends on.
d albums always take multiple listens to digest, often you will find songs that you didn't like as much become favorites after a few listens. In fact you'll find thatit happens a lot, like with every album for the most part. Their catalog is so much fun to go through in the order in which they were released, because they start changing their sound a lot from album to album. You should listen to the next album, it's often considered the biggest left turn ever by a big band like Radiohead. I'm not sure how much sense this post is going to be I have a puppy and 2 cats all over me as i'm trying to post this and one of the cats likes to sit on the keyboard while i;m typing. How dare I don't pay attention to him.
Hey bro, you should definitely do their album before this called "The Bends" You will acend to it as well, trust me. A lot of beautiful songs similar to on here
