the crazy vocals at the beginning of "Like Spinning Plates" is actually Thom singing/recording the lines normally, reversing them on tape to hear what they sound like backwards, learning how to sing it backwards,. they then recorded him singing it 'backwards', then reversing the tape to get what you hear on the record. WHAT? YES THATS ACTUALLY TRUE
King of Limbs is also underrated as hell. This is blasphemous to say, but for my personal taste I'd take KOL over half of the songs in Ok Computer. I love Airbag, Lucky, No Surprises and Karma Police, but I'd take any song from KOL over the rest. OK Computer is more important for the culture but KOL is more interesting to me.
@@johnjungkook2721 honestly I agree esp w the aged tracklist of OK Computer although I can't withhold mentioning how much Let Down carries me. I have to take HTTT and KOL over a lot of the other albums bc of cohesive atmosphere but there is gold wherever focus falls
I’m a huge Radiohead fan. And your reactions to them are the best. You just get it. And trust me when I say you will be more blown away when you see them live. My opinion is you should watch them “Live From The Basement”
Great reaction! Love watching your videos. If you want to see them live, their “in the basement” series is a great way to experience them- in the basement in rainbows or in the basement king of limbs… such a vibe
Spinning Plates creates that feeling of relentlessness, of juggling life around til you're literally going insane, like spinning plates....Very cleverley done 👌
You are good my friend. With Pablo Honey, just remember this is their start. You will hear the beginning of greatness. The last song will blow your mind.
Another awesome reaction - enjoyed them since the firt - you are MORE RIGHT than you know - live Radiohead is an entire whole nother thing....in all the best ways. "In Rainbows: Live From the Basement" is an all time legendary live show in Rock history, forget about jusr Radiohead's stuff. They are just hanging out in a basemtn studio and it is completely mind blowing, to me, mt favorite Radiohead moment out of the entire Band journey. It also seemingly has no issue with blocking n YT as there a ton of reactions to it. Watching the 5 guys recreate the seemingly impossible sonic soundscapes and musical landscapes with no tricks, it is earth's 8th wonder to watch (ok that is takin it to far...hmmm....maybe.) You ought to do it, you would absolutely love it - but any of the top live concerts for any of these albums they are as good as it gets if not the best. Look up "You and Whose Army Live at the Gorge 2001" - it is everything you could want in that live version and more, so much more! And yes, Pablo Honey was a first album and the Label pressured them to push out a version of British grunge/indie rock, which for the time it was actually a much liked album (as somone in High School back then) and while a lot of the songs are kind of easy alt/rock early 90s stuff, not at the level of what followed it is NOT terrible - most fans who say that have NEVER LISTENED to it, bet you 100 bucks. I can think of 5 tunes (out of what, 12 or so - to me - certifiable Radiohead early bangers. The opener and the closer are sick - Creep is there, and they have a couple more solid songs I don't care what anyoone says. Review it for sure!
One of the craziest things about Radiohead is how many fantastic b-sides and non-album tracks they have. It's unheard of for a major band like them to leave so many really good tracks off their albums, but Thom is so insanely picky about track listing that they just left them off the records instead of making a money grab and releasing a few more records. When you finish all the studio albums we'll help you with a list of some great tunes you still haven't heard.
Reno! Loved this review man. Love that you're loving it and truly enjoying this radiohead jounrey. good shit my man. "Dollars and Cents" so underrated... but damn, man those lyrics on spotify had me tripping... there's no official release of these lyrics, but this is much closer/accurate for you or anyone else out there who might care lol... there are better things to talk about be constructive bear witness we can use be constructive with your blues even when it turns the wall ablaze even when it turns the water green oh won't you quiet down? i want what you promised me (why dont you quiet down?) i want what you promised me (why dont you quiet down?) kneel down and then maybe i...(why dont you quiet down?) every war you promise me (why dont you quiet down?) i want peace and honesty (why dont you quiet down?) i want what you promised me (why dont you quiet down?) every war the children speak: (Quiet down!) Hey if once you listen to “Hail to the Thief” (their next album after this) you should definitely checkout the In rainbows from the basement the play songs from In Rainbows and hail to the thief live in a small room it’s well worth checking out in my opinion
Love your reactors, keep being you man, whatever you feel about the songs ;3 I actually like Paplo honey ok, I get why ppl don’t like it, generic for it’s time sorta, but it’s a summer vibe
I have to say that' it's unusual for someone as young to "get" Radiohead so quickly, it took me years for some of these albums to resonate. I would add that just about any serious music fan will "get" it if they actively listen though.
U should listen to the basement version of in rainbows! It shows them playing that whole album and it’s real interesting to see the instruments they use and shit
As you like the chill end music of Morning Bell so much, I recommend listening/reacting to the song A.M 180 by Grandaddy or react to the whole album that it’s from?
hey since you like radiohead i thinking maybe you would like this album by a band called HUM the album is called You'd Perfer an Astronaut its really worth giving a listen👍
the crazy vocals at the beginning of "Like Spinning Plates" is actually Thom singing/recording the lines normally, reversing them on tape to hear what they sound like backwards, learning how to sing it backwards,. they then recorded him singing it 'backwards', then reversing the tape to get what you hear on the record. i guess thats why it sounds like he’s recording from the Black Lodge
@@lukaluukaa omg yesssss! pretty sure thats how they did it on Twin Peaks too
The chord progression of this song is also the same chord progression for "I will" but in reverse!!!
This is truly the most underrated album in radioheads discography along with HTTT.
add king of limbs & i completely agree 100%
King of Limbs is also underrated as hell.

If not mentioned, this was recorded at the same time as Kid A.
😮

In rainbows from the basement is great
The opener has always been one of my favorites on the album, it sounds especially great on a really good sound system.
I discover so many new songs and albums that I like cuz of you Reno. These are always nice to watch.
I went to one of the concerts and I danced the entire fucking show through. They really know how to take you along on a journey. Not a dull moment.
I think you'll love Hail To The Thief, it's got some great moments on it.
Im so glad he gets it 😂its genuinely crazy how good they are, best band of all time
Pyramid Song is a fan favorite , incredible atmosphere.
Just saw this song live in Osaka Japan, what an experience.
On Like Spinning Plates he recorded himself singing backwards then it was reversed.
I've seen them eight times and it's always an amazing experience. I've been very lucky.
"hail to the thief" next!!! Its super under rated!!
Life in a glasshouse and knives out are one of the best songs ever made
I love knives out sm
Great reaction! Love watching your videos. If you want to see them live, their “in the basement” series is a great way to experience them- in the basement in rainbows or in the basement king of limbs… such a vibe
You should definitely have an episode where you check out live performances! They’re amazing live, trust me.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS 🗣🗣🗣
IN RAINBOWS FROM THE BASEMENT
Spinning Plates creates that feeling of relentlessness, of juggling life around til you're literally going insane, like spinning plates....Very cleverley done 👌
I highly recommend listening to the "why us" version of like spinning plates, which has a beautiful piano and expands the lyrics a little more
Yeah pyramid songs like one of their top five songs, Glad you recognize it!
BRO YOU NEED TO DO THE WALL TRUST ME
You are good my friend. With Pablo Honey, just remember this is their start. You will hear the beginning of greatness. The last song will blow your mind.
Great reaction, keep it going! I am sure you will love 'Hail to the Thief' if you loved this one, also you should try 'In Rainbows Disk 2'!
Praise to this man.
Thank you for such a great full album reaction!!!😊
The music is played backwards on Spinning Plates, if you were wondering.
I think he's trying to replicate the music in reverse. Sort of how singing would sound backwards.
@@joshuapocalypse im pretty sure the verse was sung backwards and the chorus ("and this just feels like...") was sung forwards
