Great video . Keeping it real. Just bought a CZ 457 varmint mtr and initial shots with budget ammo was outstanding can’t wait to try the good stuff.

I just bought a Lilja for mine because I wanted more weight and more barrel length . However, my factory barrel shot very very good . The Lilja is a little better as the price of the ammo goes up . But I mean we are talking 1/16” better groups . My factory barrel was in the .2’s with no wind and rifle match . I just am blown away by the capability of the factory CZ . Congratulations, you’ll love it .

That was enjoyable. I know that I have been ragging on you guys about always shooting groups and saying that they don't mean anything. To me this is a real test of a rifles accuracy and the shooter. I could see the wind gusts behind you in the video. Both of those rifles would be competitive in many BR matches with an adjustible front rest, the proper height rear rest and wind flags. Good job.

You also need a target printed on heavier paper (at least 60lb paper) so you can get a clean cut with the bullet and a unshot target backer.

Nice to a rifle shooter taking the time to use proper follow through post shot & also taking it nice & steady when feeding bullets into the chamber with a nice smooth relaxed action.

A pleasure sir. I'm absolutely sick to death of the show boater who feels they have to cycle the bolt as fast as they possibly can because they think it will impress!

Great shooting in the wind. And as always, I dig your intro music. It’s up there with Josh’s intro music.

Enjoyed the video. Been shooting a CZ457 Varmint 22LR with an Athlon Cronus BTR 4.5-29 x 56 scope. Unfortunately the stock doesn't fit well and considering the MPA Chassis. My rifle loves Eley round nose (Target and Club) but hates all versions of SK and Lapua I've been able to purchase.

Thanks Chris, really enjoyed this clip great test. Wind definitely has effects on 22lr at 50 in winds especially on such small targets. Great work

Not only does wind effect a .22LR bullet at 50 yards, the wind can be going in different directions and at different speeds in several places between the bench and the target. That's what wind flags will show.

That CZ build is cool! If you shot this video this past weekend, the wind was there and tricky. But they shoot matches when it's windy though, so suck it up! My daughter and I like to shoot aspirins at 50 yards. The wind really makes it challenging. Without the wind, we shoot pieces until there aren't any. I have a DPG CZ457 and it's a cheat code. I need to get to a match (and embarrass myself) when they start back up again.

Nice video Chris . Yup , I feel the difference between 18 x and 30 x too. I believe the differences show up more when shooting a precision rifle . I’m glad you don’t chicken out with the wind . I appreciate the real life factors and it helps me understand the impact on my own shooting . I’m just curious if you would consider putting a wind flag up somewhere in the vids where we can see it? I know I experience a pretty significant difference shooting indoors vs wind outdoors . Maybe show a target that was shot in ideal conditions ( indoors, or no wind) , then shoot in wind to show how much it shifts the groups ? I don’t think anyone has done a vid showing how wind affects their groups . I know a kestrel can tel me how much , but in most cases wind is variable . What you think?

If you don’t have the right ammo, the entire testing process is useless. Fun but useless. You could try feeding them both some Blazer.

PLEASE...just stick a broomstick in the ground & a 24" streamer behind you and we can see the wind for ourselves.
If you want to show precision, for goodness sake, put a cardboard target backer behind the target.
Not a lot of extra trouble to go to for so much better results in your video.
