    That’s absolutely crazy. The patients and precision needed for it is astounding . I salute you sir. Would be nice to see some more of these videos. Also , factory vs hand load accuracy tests. Even just targets to see the improvement. That’s wild 🙏. You got a new subscriber, hope to see you on my side too cheers 🍻

    🤯Pretty Amazing Russ on your patience Alone had No Idea one could even do this with these rounds. I would imagine you found it is worth going through this process and worth the time and concentration .Would be great to see results down Range.

      @nopro5433 Thank you! The accuracy, speed increase, and consistency are insane, and under 500 yards in calm wind, my custom 17HMR rifle with these loads is as accurate as my competition centerfire rifles. I have probably 30 pictures of 5 shot groups at 450 yards (my home range length) between 1-1.5 inches, with a few under 1 inch. A bad day in calm wind is 3-4 inch groups. Maybe I will throw together a vid shooting from 100-450 yards with the loads... 🤔

    I started reloading 22 LR in 2015. That process is more involved because of the heeled hollow base bullet which is crimped in a very different way. I had to learn to make molds for the bullets. Make swaging dies for the bullets. Make crimping dies. Make primer. Determine what powder to use etc.

    When outside turning the case neck, you suggest that makes the neck wall uniform thickness, but I didn't spot a mandrel to keep the inside diameter concentric with the modified chuck's turning axis, so I don't get how it accomplishes that. Can you please explain?

    This might work for 9mm Flobrt rounds in the EU, need to find the commercial source for the primer mix and then determine the type and weight of the powder load as well as the payload.

    Maybe I missed it, but any particular reason to tear down new factory loaded rounds instead of just using once fired brass? Seems like that would be a big cost savings since you’re completely stripping down the cartridge anyway.
    Cheers, and super interesting video to watch! Shared a link to it as a post on my page as well.

      This is a demonstration. You would go through these steps, for once fired cases. You can buy bullets in bulk, powder in bulk. Empty cases by the hundreds/thousands. Besides what else is there to do, in your makeshift b💣mb shelter? Just Sit and hope the next nuke dosen't hit your neighborhood? Time is Relevant to all things. You may place your time and interests elsewhere. I have expended hundreds of hours on stones worth thousands. But only a select few, can appreciate the Rarity and effort, to the point of Eagerly handing over $$$$$$ , for a One of a kind (Natural) Gemstone. Most people dont care. Most consumers will spend tens of dollars for pieces of glass, that pretend to come from nature, and be happy.
      Cheers! Enjoy life!😁

      Hey bud, thanks for the share! I do reload spent brass as well, and will make another video on that this winter, repairing cases for reloading. The reason I use new brass, is often I do not get more than 3 loads on 17HMR brass. It is so thin, that even with annealing, im pushing these loads way beyond what they were designed for. So, with constantly having to replace brass, instead of losing 1 of 3 firings with the factory load, I strip them down.

    • @russellreed9995

    The spent cases will have no primer....plus a dent to be removed.
    A practical method of spinning the primer into that rim, and the compound itself is difficult to obtain. This is great but almost useless knowledge. Stock up on ammo instead of reloading stuff for rimfire. This is not practical at all

      It is only for extreme precision and for ELR shooting, not for use in plinking or hunting. I will be releasing a video this winter of repairing fired cases for reloading.

      There are many methods of getting primer into the rim. Eley has developed a new method and has abandoned the spin (centrifugal) method.

      Not cost and time effective at all, unless you value performance gains over factory ammo by a huge margin- shooting for extreme precision and ELR. It may seem pointless, the gains are worth it.

    So in effect he is responsible for damage and injury because he refused to share a decent powder choice and starting point so we have to blow our guns up like he did to try and figure it out?
    His logic is so backwards, he must be a democrat!
    I mean seriously, even the powder name?

    • @TheBlackTrapper
      @TheBlackTrapper Місяць тому +2

      Yeahhhh no that's not how that works. If he did and somone ended up getting hurt then they can sue him for putting out bad information. There's a reason most UA-camrs in the reloading sphere tell you NOT to use their data only book data. And when where dealing with something like this which is SUPER into the far off side of things of reloading...well

    • @russellreed9995
      @russellreed9995  29 днів тому +1

      As theblacktrapper said, if someone follows my recipe and is injured, i am responsible and they have the right to sue me. I dont know any serious reloaders that will share borderline loads that are outside safe specs. Call me whatever you want, doesn't make you look good to anyone reading your comment.

      @@TheBlackTrapper I have powder tables for 22lr. Be careful. If you use fast powder like Red Dot or Bullseye one grain is enough to start with to work up loads. But I don't use fast powders. There is a lot to study ...lots of variables.

      I do this for extreme precision and for ELR shooting with my rimfires. For plinking, hunting etc, I use factory ammo. I started this when I was competing with rimfires, and while it seems pointless, these loads rival my competition centerfire loads in consistency and accuracy and outperform factory rimfire ammo in every single way by a HUGE margin.
