    I'm here as a new owner of a Vudoo V-22S. I'm competing in local ARA Benchrest Competition and very very pleased with how my new rifle is performing!!! I want to thank Ms. Jill for helping me get the rifle I needed and the folks at Vudoo for making great rifles available to us!!!!

      @Mike Tokar Having delt with Vudoo and given the run around. They are unprofessional. I reached out to DPG because of how Vudoo handled their customer service. My rifle was overheadspaced just like how Kenney showed in his series. I reached out to Desert Precision to have them build my Vudoo single shot fixed. My V22s is setting club records and my gunsmith back home who is well known in this industry is trying to replicate Kenneys process

      @Mike Tokar it's not bashing if it's the truth. Without his videos, me and 6 other guys at my club would have been stuck with sub par Vudoos with ejection issues, failure to fire and accuracy. All of these folks have had their Vudoo's rebarreled by him and are consistently podium finishers. So I would disagree that Kenney is a "ok" gunsmith

    • @Chickidy
      @Chickidy Рік тому +3

      Just an "ok" gunsmith? That's why 3 of his rifles are going to the world rimfire championship in Italy. Kenny is honest and credible, which is why his clients trust him. His rifles always speak for themselves. Also I bet you have never shot or owned one of his rifles. So how can you come that conclusion or judgment?

    I think the "ammo shortage" and stupid high prices of centerfire ammunition of a couple years ago reignited what many of us have known for years! Shooting .22 rimfire is fun, cheap and valid practice for any other kind of shooting. And that rimfire firearms, rifle or handgun, are basically FREE after a few trips to the range when ammo prices are compared.
    Rimfires have always deserved to be considered valuable firearms by gun owners. I have never hesitated to spend as much on a rimfire rifle or handgun as I spend for a centerfire rifle or handgun.
    Advice to shooters...before the last shortage when .22 ammo prices were very reasonable, I was buying and laying in a huge stock of .22LR ammo of all sorts. It was cheap, easy to store and keeps virtually forever. I never ran out during the "shortage" and never paid those ridiculous prices.
    Prices are now coming back down, get it while you can. Some of the ammo I use regularly is now available for very little more than I paid in 2019. Given inflation in general, that's to be expected. Make a point to buy some every week/month or whatever works for you. Don't get caught without it.

      While I agree in principle the fact that you think anything you do in the .00125 seconds that 22 bullet is in the barrel vs external effects, like wind, barometric, pressure, humidity, etc. is preposterous. Is set up important? Yes, is not moving during the shot. Important yes, but the minuscule change that you make in that small time really is all in your head. 16 versus 22 inch barrels and the dwell time is still insignificant in its effect overall.

    I have a Gen 2 which for the money was very disappointing at first. Constant Eley lip lock, misfires, and feeding issues with the magazines which required a sloppy magazine mod to just to get them to feed semi-reliably. I bought a L3I magazine which has eliminated the Eley and other non-Lapua/SK feeding problems, but with all ammo to include Lapua and SK you have to ensure that each round is loaded carefully to avoid overlap.
    Also experienced a very frustrating bolt misfire issue which eventually required a firing pin retainer replacement with a not insignificant amount of Loctite on the retainer screws and a refurbished/resurfaced bolt. The misfires with all brands ammo were eliminated.
    Greg and Paul hung in there with me the whole way, and provided an excellent cleaning tip that has severed me well.
    The end result is an barreled action that is locked up tight, where consistent accuracy is the best I have ever experienced or seen at our local range, up against a wide range of high end 22lr rifles.

    How long are you suggesting that it takes for the bullet to travel the barrel? 1.90476 milliseconds (give or take) is the time it takes for a 1050 fps bullet to travel a 24 inch barrel. The proper hold is taming recoil and consistency not dwell time.

    I just purchased a nice rimfire rifle. I'm trying to decide on a scope. When I go online to find the best rimfire scope, I keep coming to a $300 Leupold. This seems odd to me since I've never spent less than $1000 on a center fire scope. Is the $300 Leupold really one of the best? Any suggestions on a nice scope $1000 or less? More of a buy once cry once scope. Or will the Leupold be perfect for me? I have access to 300yds range. Thanks!

      In my opinion the best scope for under $1000 is the Bushnell Match Pro ED 5-30x56 if you playing NRL22 and PRS Rimfire games out to 300 yards. For 25-300 yards you need lots of elevation travel, parallax down to 25 yards, decent magnification and excellent tracking.

      The V22S single shot action would already work well. The challenge is the chassis with the features and adjustments for Olympic 3 position. Could we do it... heck yeah. Would we sell enough to make the R&D worth it, probably not.

    Why do people keep on with the transonic instability BS myth? Really?! Yes, some bullets do it from certain barrels but that is rare, unless there is something wrong with the barrel. A subsonic .22LR, well any subsonic bullet just below 1100 fps, is in the transonic range from the moment it exits the barrel all the way down to about 900fps. Transonic range is from about Mach 0.8 to Mach 1.2, that is from about 900 fps to about 1350 fps. People keep on telling this myth because they heard the story and tell it forward as if it is fact. It is not.

      Can anyone add to this? I’ve personally had better accuracy with subs

    • @L.V-Rider
      @L.V-Rider 7 місяців тому

      @@hpijeep Let me add to it. There are many accurate subsonic ammo, but there are also many subsonic ammo that are not accurate. The accurate ammo's manufacturing and qc process is better. Since all competitors use subsonic ammo the manufacturers are giving more attention to it. HV rounds are used for plinking and hunting, not competition, therefore manufacturers don't input as much effort to make it as consistent as ss match ammo. Elly makes a high velocity match ammo that is very accurate in many barrels. Yet, if they and competing manufacturers give more attention to make the hv match ammo even more consistent and accurate, it will be. But, competition venues and shooters alike prefer the lower sound level of the ss ammo. So why would manufacturers even worry about it?

    • @timfetters7471
      @timfetters7471 7 місяців тому

      The riflings cause the bullet to spin to give it stability and accuracy. When the bullets spin slows to the point of instability and begins to tumble that is what many people thought transonic instability was. In keeping this brief the slower the muzzle velocity also the slower the spin on the bullet making it have the ability to become unstable sooner. I’m not sure if I’m explaining it correctly but the bullet instability has nothing to do with the sound barrier

What is so much better about your rifle that justifies that kind of price? Yeah I think the cz is over priced I mean the top tier and the lower tier don't shoot as well so you guys should drop the price on some of these rifles.

      Here is what i have seen in my club. We have 1 vudoo shooter, 10 b14r’s, 5-7 cz’s and then a bunch of other brands. 50% of the time the vudoo is first and in the last two years his lowest showing has been 4th. The b14r’s and cz’s are always top 3 but the vudoos results speak for themselves.
