Narrow is the path that leads to the gates of heaven, but only few people find it. The gates that is the path to destruction is where many people find it! Jesus loves you SO MUCH! That he died on the cross, and was resurrected from the dead 3 days later to give us eternal life..!.!..

I used to work for Eric at his restaurant in Toronto. His food is amazing. Always went home with a dish after every shift yum. To top it off he is a gentle kind man, a great person to work with!

Confused ? How so? He has high standards for himself, he and anyone has that has high standards is his own worst critic amd is what helps improve and not becoming complacent. Many of these other cooks they think they got it during the challenge but are complacent resting on their laurels.

The thing I like about Eric is that he does not become OverlyHappy when judges compliments him. He just becomes happy for a split seconds and then goes serious mode. TOTAL LEGEND

i love the cultural connection between chef alvin and chef eric. nothing like being praised by someone from home
Alvin is my favorite judge on this show. he really gives constructive criticism and seems to care about the contestants. Also, unlike others (JOE), he doesn't act overdramatic and just tells it like it is. Candid, I respect that about him as a judge

I love how Eric won because all the other contestants would always give him the side eyes or eye rolls whenever he the judges give him positive feedback
Recently got to meet with Eric at his restaurant in downtown Toronto. He really does have a passion for food. Always making sure everyone was taken care of from staff to diners. Very charismatic as well. Great guy overall, even stopped to to take a photo with my friends and I.
the connection between eric and chef alvin is just incredibly wholesome, definitely my favourite part
After his audition when he got put in his place Eric changed and I think Chef Alvin saw that and respected it
Not tryna be discriminative, but they have the best asian duo vibe according to me and i love it. They could probably be featured in an anime where alvin is the model teacher and eric is the humble student.
They have a similar background. Alvin was also an engineer before he made it big in the restaurant business.

So impressive as well that he’s only 21 years old and he is able to do the things that he can do. I’m sure a lot of dishes he made during the competition were his first time preparing them. He did well too many times to be lucky, he’s just got pure culinary skill.

just love how everyone behind eric gets so happy and confident when he is struggling or getting scolded but this man proves himself every single time and makes everyone sigh ans shake there head just love him!!!!
Eric impressed me because he always learns from his mistakes. When he made the Dungeness crab curry he used lime wedges which overpowered the crab. In his final lobster chow mien he used lime segments instead to add the acidity without overpowering the lobster

every contestant knew deep down they didnt have a chance, but love how they were still so happy & proud of him almost every time

I like how even though Joe only comes in for that one episode he made the pasta, he still manages to try and made Eric of all people feel like he produced a dish that isn't worthy of Joe's palette. Instead of actually talking about the dish, he once again tries to give the competitors open ended questions, where no matter what answer they give, he has a rebutle so he has the upper hand at all times in any conversation or discussion. Never liked Joe.
I fondly remember that one episode even Gordon ramsey, arguably one of the greatest chefs of all time, tells Joe that his opinion is invalid and he is off his head when they were talking about a certain dish they tasted. Yet Joe still felt that his opinion on the dish was more important and valid than someone who is a Michelin star chef.
He thinks hes making the show interesting by messing with contestants but it just comes off raunchy and annoying.

eric was amazing this season because he constantly pushed himself to take risks with his dishes, and they paid off
i remeber watching this with my mom when i was in grade 8, every since the start we knew eric was the best and we both cheered for eric. it was amazing to see him win almost every week and then go on to win the whole thing. i remeber watching the finals and it was a nail bitter and when they said eric me and my mom jumped and cheered. great memories

Same as Marida except Marisa is one trick phony by giving the Trinidian / Indian dish in every dishes while Eric at least can do a lot of variation by doing a lot of desserts and represent his culture at other dishes. That's why the judges chose him as the winner.
Yeah he seems very humble
There are three epic moments of Eric from season 1 to me.
The first is he faced harsh criticism toward Alvin in audition. That settled his attitude, made him really humble and learned from competition.
The second is Marida did not play her advantage logically in the semi-final. Most successes need lucky. He received Dungeness crab, what he's familiar with.
The third is at finale, after tasting his entree, Claudio reviewed how he evolved from start to end, how far he achieved on this journey.
Bro Marida was a dumbass for that. She was familiar with crab and wanted to impress the judges so bad she basically gave Eric a free win🤣🤣

I think Eric and Kaila have more things in common than they think. I mean one of them is that they both love cooking sea food (especially crustaceans). They also work fairly well together

To clear things up: Eric and Alvin are both coincidentally Cantonese, whereas the most common language spoken in China is Mandarin.
Cantonese is a language lol. The speakers are usually from Guangdong/Guangxi and I think in Xianggang as well.

Mans had no idea how to cook or present smelts but came out on top because of his cooking knowledge and his improvisation skills, very impressive. I don't even know what smelts are beside the fact they're fish.

Seeing Eric totally annihilate the competition is awesome, but seeing Marida take the razor clams and letting Eric take the crab is the best part.
She thought that Eric didn’t know much on what to do/cook with crabs so she went with the razor clams, Eric was smiling when he saw the crab and practically hoped for her to not pick the crabs
The same happened with the final three at the US season 4 when the eventual winner Luca was left with cheese by the eventual runner-up
Marida was the true villain of this season, she always seemed so arrogant to me

I love the dynamic between Eric and Alvin. Absolutely wonderful tidbit exchanges in Cantonese and Alvin constantly conveying what I think to be seeing himself when he was younger.
Alvin Leung definitely gives me that feeling of constructive criticism but the way a father figure or mother figure would do it, it just feels good
