i like how season 1 had Eric who was an underdog and season 2 seemed to have David as a powerhouse the entire time
Eric was the back bending grinder who put everything aside for his dreams and proved his family he could be great.
David was a natural talent made-for-it guy that had protagonist armour.
2 ends of the story telling spectrum. I love it.

We have Eric, who wants to be a chef, and a huge underdog to win it all, coming from an Engineering background but doesn't want to follow the path of an academic.
We have David, a nobody high school dropout who chose a life with his family and kids, who needed a platform to show everyone he's secretly a final boss.

And that is why they are the two best Masterchef winners in Canada, in my opinion. Along with Christopher, who was David’s closest competition in season 2 and was finally able to win on his own in season 7!

David is so humble and positive. Like when judges ask him who's going home he's like anybody who comes from small town and never really worked with the ingredient. Like damn, many others just point at others 😕

David's audition dish should've been in here, but that shows how good he was the entire season. Hard to choose only 5 moments.
The thing is that this isn't only 5 moments, it's 7 moments which just shows that like all his dishes were good
I'm surprised it wasn't on here, or the birthday cake he made! Though I had to admit his cake was second to the pastry master Christopher's cake. For someone who doesn't do desserts, David's cake was just amazing.

I feel like David is the strongest Masterchef Canada winner ever.
Mary and Trevor were pretty strong too but I agree David was unstoppable
You could argue about lesle who was the first person ever to survive 6 pressure challenges. Even tho who placed 3rd he lost to a simple mistake that all pastry chefs make atleast once.

As amazing and skilled as David was….i have to praise how humble he was/is. That’s the true sign of not just a great person but a great chef as well.
Eric and David are like one in the same. They always doubt themselves and then destroy everyone else, they love the pressure, and they both seem like the protagonist of their seasons
David was both the protagonist AND the final boss
I love how everyone smiles and is just happy about their fellow's success. So beautiful to watch 😊💖

The difference between these shows and American shows in how the contestants talk about themselves and each other is amazing. There's no rudeness or aggression, it's great.

I would definitely prefer for contestants to be more respectful and humble among themselves, as well as the judges not being so “oh this was a terrible decision for you. You’re awful!”
I really like watching MasterChef Canada because they don’t put emphasis on the drama; the focus is on the food and the chef making that food.

I realise I’ve aged when I look at David and his personality and think to myself “Damn, I wish I had a friend like David”
I love David's personality and backstory among them. At first, I was rooting for Line. But, when I saw him being humble. Not saying any negative about the others, wants to push other people to their limits so that judges can see their hidden capabilities is alot. He sees them as his equal and I love him even more because of it. I never thought of him winning since all of them are a strong cook but he stands out the most because of his innovative and passion on cooking. He cooks from the heart, determination and soul.
The best winner among them, also. He's very soft-hearted. Must protect!
U just have to love David. He was so confident yet so humble. And loves his family and cooks tremendously.

It show's when your actually humble with someone's response after doing something stressful. Kudos to him for showing he wasn't there chasing just a prize and he was doing this cause he loved cooking.

I do think there's nothing wrong with chasing for the prize, as long as you're not overall full of pride. Line is passionate to experience the fruit of the labor, David was on for a competition to turn his life around and at least make his efforts known not only for his family but to and for the whole world.

David in Season 2 and Beccy in Season 5 are the most dominant contestants I have ever seen in any MasterChef competitions....
Even Trevor was near unbeatable in his season, just the tuna dish and the mille-feuille were not up to his mark. The same goes Jennifer, even she was near unbeatable.

I honestly think the reason why David has won multiple of these challenges is because of his innovation. David always provides a dish that seems new and not many others or only him are doing.

David is that chapter which I always wanted to read and read again.
I always die inside seeing Kwasi trying to cook an egg with the oven door open, letting all that heat escape.
Holding the egg right up under the heating element, was the purpose of that move. I'm not gonna heat up the blade in its sheath when I can just thrust the metal into the fire.

I love Masterchef Canada so much. It's very clean, and not meaningless dramatic. And I think if chef Michael should be a story teller as well. If the contestant does great job and chef Michael starts his judgement first, 90% that the contestant will start proudly crying. A perfect human being knows how to warm people's heart
